Padres' Chris Paddack: Earns promotion to Double-A

Paddack was moved up to Double-A San Antonio on Thursday, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.

Paddack cruised through the High-A level, posting a 2.24 ERA and 0.90 WHIP over 10 starts with Lake Elsinore. In just 52.1 innings, he racked up a remarkable 83:4 K:BB after missing the entire 2017 season due to Tommy John surgery he underwent in August of 2016. Look for him to remain with San Antonio for the rest of this season.

  • Tyler Anderson SP | LAA

Rockies' Tyler Anderson: Snags sixth win with gem against Giants

Anderson (6-3) allowed just two hits and two walks through eight shutout innings and struck out nine in a victory Wednesday over the Giants.

Anderson is white hot over his last two starts, both featuring eight shutout frames against a division opponent (Los Angeles, June 29). He owns 17 strikeouts against three walks in that span. Zooming out, Anderson hasn't walked more than two batters since June 1 against the Dodgers, a six-start stretch in which Anderson owns a 2.18 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 41:8 K:BB. He'll take a 3.90 ERA into his next start Wednesday, another divisional affair against the Diamondbacks.

  • Patrick Corbin SP | TOR

Diamondbacks' Patrick Corbin: Takes tough no-decision against Cardinals

Corbin held the Cardinals to one run on six hits and two walks with six hits through six innings but was left with a no-decision Wednesday.

Corbin was on point, as he induced 13 swinging strikes in nine groundball outs in his third straight quality start. In that span, Corbin has thrown 20 innings with 23 strikeouts against just three walks with two runs allowed. His slider was particularly on point Wednesday, as it induced 10 swinging strikes on just 37 offerings. He'll take a 3.05 ERA into his next outing Tuesday against the Rockies.

  • Miles Mikolas RP | WAS

Cardinals' Miles Mikolas: Earns win despite four walks

Mikolas (9-3) allowed two runs on seven hits and four walks with three strikeouts through six innings in a victory Wednesday over the Diamondbacks.

Mikolas walked more than two batters for the first time all season, but it didn't slow him down at all. When Mikolas was hitting his spots, the Diamondbacks couldn't do anything with it, as none of their seven hits went for extra bases and they hit into 10 flyball outs. Mikolas continues to succeed with low strikeout numbers, as he'll take a 2.63 ERA into his next start Tuesday against the White Sox despite a 6.2 K/9.

  • Jose Urena SP | LAA

Marlins' Jose Urena: No-decision despite strong effort against Rays

Urena didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 3-0 win over the Rays, allowing three hits and two walks over five scoreless innings while striking out six.

The right-hander threw 46 of 78 pitches for strikes in his first start off the disabled list after recovering from shoulder inflammation, but Urena was denied a well-deserved win as the Marlins' offense didn't get on the board until the bottom of the sixth inning. He'll carry a 4.18 ERA into his next outing Monday at home against the Brewers.

  • Julio Teheran SP | BAL

Braves' Julio Teheran: Fans 10 in loss to Yankees

Teheran (6-6) took the loss Wednesday as the Braves fell 6-2 to the Yankees, allowing five runs on five hits and four walks over five innings while striking out 10.

It marks the second time in four starts the right-hander has posted double-digit strikeouts, but despite that Teheran has been anything but consistent lately, giving up zero runs in two of those outings and 12 in the other two. He's also issued multiple free passes in nine straight starts, making him a risky fantasy play when he next takes the mound Tuesday at home against the Blue Jays.

  • Rich Hill SP | KC

Dodgers' Rich Hill: Exits with neck tightness

Hill left Wednesday' game against the Pirates with neck tightness after sliding headfirst into home plate, Pedro Moura of The Athletic Los Angeles reports.

Hill was pitching well prior to the injury, allowing two runs in five innings, allowing four hits and a walk while striking out five. He's considered day-to-day, but given his injury history, the Dodgers may elect to be extra careful. If he doesn't need to miss a start, he'll next take the hill Tuesday against the Padres.

  • Chase Anderson RP | TEX

Brewers' Chase Anderson: Allows just one in solid start

Anderson threw a quality start but did not factor into the decision Wednesday against the Twins. He lasted 6.1 innings, allowing just one run on three hits and a walk while striking out five.

It was generally smooth sailing for Anderson, who faced the minimum through three innings and allowed just three baserunners through six. He left with one out in the seventh but did not get the win after Jeremy Jeffress allowed his inherited runner to score. The start drops Anderson's ERA down to 3.99 on the season, and he's allowed just a single run in each of his last three starts. He'll look to keep the momentum going Monday against the Marlins.

  • Aaron Nola SP | PHI

Phillies' Aaron Nola: Strikes out nine in win

Nola pitched seven strong innings Wednesday against the Orioles, improving to 11-2 on the season after allowing just a single run on seven hits and a pair of walks while striking out nine batters.

Nola allowed at least one baserunner in every inning but never allowed more than two, limiting the damage to just a third-inning RBI double by Adam Jones. The end result was yet another solid outing for the Phillies' ace, who has tossed a quality start in 14 of his last 16 trips to the mound. He'll next take the hill Monday against the Mets.

  • Julio Urias SP | LAD

Dodgers' Julio Urias: Fastball hits 91 in bullpen

Urias (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Monday, touching 91 mph with his fastball, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Urias hasn't pitched at the big-league level since last May after undergoing shoulder surgery. His fastball averaged 93 mph prior to his injury, so it's a good sign that its velocity continues to climb, though he's still not back to his former self. He reportedly could be making rehab appearances in July, putting a return in August on the table.
