  • Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Throws from 120 feet

Kershaw (biceps) advanced his throwing distance to 120 feet Thursday, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports.

Kershaw's next step will be mound work, which is expected to happen in the near future after playing catch for the past week. Expect a better idea of the left-hander's eventual return date once he's able to get a couple bullpen sessions under his belt.

  • Dodgers' Walker Buehler: Takes no-decision against Marlins

Buehler allowed five runs (four earned) on seven hits and two walks over five innings Wednesday against Miami.

Buehler finally had a rough outing, as Wednesday's start, his fifth, marked his first time allowing more than two runs. The culprit was his two-seam fastball, which was put in play seven times for six hits by Marlins batters, including Justin Bour's two-run home run in the fifth inning that put the nail in the coffin of Buehler's bid for the win. It's hard to quibble with Buehler's performance thus far, as he owns a 2.67 ERA in his young rookie season, but Wednesday's outing finally shows the 23-year-old is human. He'll look to get back on track Monday against the Rockies.

  • Zack Wheeler SP | PHI

Mets' Zack Wheeler: Crushed by Jays on Wednesday

Wheeler (2-3) took the loss against the Blue Jays on Wednesday, allowing six runs on seven hits and three walks over four-plus innings while striking out seven.

He continues to rack up Ks -- it's the fourth time in seven starts Wheeler has struck out at least seven batters -- but otherwise this was another ugly outing for the right-hander, as the Jays took him deep twice to push his HR/9 to 1.4 through 38 innings. Wheeler's inconsistency has left him with a 5.92 ERA on the year, making him a risky fantasy play even with a favorable matchup coming up Monday at home against the Marlins.

  • Miles Mikolas RP | WAS

Cardinals' Miles Mikolas: Early exit in Wednesday's no-decision

Mikolas didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 7-5 win over the Twins, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks over 4.2 innings while striking out two.

It was the right-hander's shortest outing of the season, as Mikolas got pulled after 85 pitches -- and one out shy of his sixth win of the season -- with runners on first and third, while trying to protect what was at the time a 4-2 lead. Quick hooks haven't been an issue for him so far this year due to his usually impressive control and efficiency, so expect a better result for Mikolas in his next trip to the mound Monday at home against the Royals.

  • Pirates' Jameson Taillon: Hurt by long ball in Wednesday's no-decision

Taillon didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the White Sox, allowing two runs on five hits and three walks over 5.2 innings while striking out five.

It was a relatively strong outing for the right-hander, but homers by the light-hitting Leury Garcia and Yolmer Sanchez prevented Taillon from having a shot at his third win of the season. He'll take a 3.97 ERA, and a somewhat worrying 1.2 HR/9, into his next outing Tuesday on the road against the Reds.

  • Brewers' Brandon Woodruff: Strikes out six over five innings in win

Woodruff (2-0) earned the win Wednesday, allowing two runs on one hit and four walks while striking out six over five innings against the Diamondbacks.

Woodruff allowed a two-run homer in the first inning to the third batter he faced, but that would be the only hit he'd allow in this one. Though the four walks over five frames aren't great, it was a nice rebound effort overall after the 25-year-old was lit up for seven runs on nine hits in just three innings his last time out. With Chase Anderson (illness) due back from the disabled list Monday, it's unclear if Woodruff will get another turn through the rotation or slide back into a bullpen role.

  • Rich Hill SP | KC

Dodgers' Rich Hill: Confirmed for Saturday's start

Hill (finger) experienced no issues during Wednesday's bullpen session and will take the hill against Washington on Saturday, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports.

Hill was forced to exit his previous start versus the Reds this past weekend due to a blister on the inner part of his middle finger, but manager Dave Roberts acknowledged that he will be good to go for Saturday's outing. Earlier in the week Hill stated that he will be fine to pitch, so even though he's had troubles with blisters in the past, there shouldn't be much lingering concern over his availability.

  • Chase Anderson RP | TEX

Brewers' Chase Anderson: Expected back Monday

Anderson (illness) is expected to be ready to go Monday, the first day that he's eligible to come off the disabled list, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Anderson was scratched from his start Saturday against the Rockies due to food poisoning. He has been feeling better over the last few days, so the team expects him to have little trouble being ready to go Monday against the Diamondbacks.

  • Tyler Mahle SP | ATL

Reds' Tyler Mahle: Sick in days leading up to start

Mahle was sick for a few days leading up to his outing against the Giants on Tuesday, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Mahle refused to make excuses for his performance but it was clear that he wasn't 100 percent. His fastball velocity was down, and as interim manager Jim Riggleman noted after the game, "his slider didn't have any depth." The 23-year-old gave up four runs on seven hits in just 3.1 innings in the loss to San Francisco, raising his ERA to 4.34. Mahle will look to get back on track Sunday at home against the Cubs.

  • Cardinals' Carlos Martinez: Will undergo additional MRI on Thursday

Martinez (lat) will head in for a second MRI to check if there has been any progress with his injury, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Martinez isn't feeling as though his recovery is coming along as quickly as it should, so the right-hander will head for additional tests. This should provide the club with a better gauge of Martinez's eventual return date. There hasn't been much word on when he might be able to make his next appearance.
