  • Brewers' Brandon Woodruff: Projects to return in late July

Manager Craig Counsell announced Sunday that Woodruff (hamstring) likely won't be ready to return from the disabled list until late July, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Woodruff has already been on the disabled list for nearly three weeks with a hamstring strain, and it appears that he's still a few weeks away from making his return. Counsell did mention that the 24-year-old remains a candidate to join the Brewers' starting rotation in the absence of Chase Anderson (oblique), who is expected to be out 4-to-6 weeks.

  • Reds' Brandon Finnegan: Transferred to 60-day DL

Finnegan (shoulder) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list Sunday.

Finnegan was placed on the disabled list Wednesday with a shoulder strain. Though an initial timetable for return was never established, it now appears that the injury is inhibiting enough to warrant a trip to the 60-day DL. He'll be eligible to return to action in late August. To fill out the 40-man roster, the Reds selected the contract of Asher Wojciechowski.

  • Phillies' Vince Velasquez: Will need two more rehab starts

Velasquez (elbow) will likely need two more rehab starts before returning to the rotation after the All-Star break, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Velasquez, who has been sidelined since the end of May with an elbow strain, made his first rehab start Saturday for Triple-A Lehigh Valley. He allowed one run on one hit and a walk in two innings and threw 33 pitches.

  • Jerad Eickhoff SP | PIT

Phillies' Jerad Eickhoff: Will make rehab start Tuesday

Eickhoff (back) is scheduled to make a rehab start Tuesday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Eickhoff, who is recovering from an upper-back strain, said last week that he felt ready to return from the disabled list. The Phillies are proceeding cautiously with him given they have little to play for this season. He should return to the rotation for the final game before the All-Star break.

  • Zack Wheeler SP | PHI

Mets' Zack Wheeler: Lasts just 3.2 innings Saturday

Wheeler allowed two unearned runs on two hits and two walks over 3.2 innings in Saturday's win over the Phillies. He struck out four and didn't factor into the decision.

Despite the short outing, Wheeler held his own in his first start in 11 days following a brief stint on the disabled list due to biceps tendinitis. While the 27-year-old didn't get knocked around like he did in his previous two outings (15 runs on 14 hits), he failed to make it at least four innings for a third consecutive start. He owns an underwhelming 5.01 ERA and 3.98 BB/9 through 14 starts (70 innings) this season, though his 8.36 K/9 remains solid. He'll take his next turn Friday against the Cardinals.

  • Rich Hill SP | KC

Dodgers' Rich Hill: Strikes out 11 Padres in win

Hill (5-4) was dominant in his start against the Padres on Saturday, tossing seven scoreless innings while allowing just four hits and striking out 11.

It marked a career high in strikeouts for Hill, who owns a 1.89 ERA and a 26:6 K:BB over his last three outings. The veteran southpaw allowed Manuel Margot to reach third base after a double in the third inning, but went on to retire 13 of the next 14 hitters en route to his fifth win of the season. Hill's 4.78 FIP indicates there may be some regression following this recent hot streak, but this strong close to the first half of the season is a nice development. He'll have a chance to keep it going next Saturday against Kansas City.

  • Zack Greinke SP | KC

Diamondbacks' Zack Greinke: Tosses quality start against Rockies

Greinke (10-4) held the Rockies to just two earned runs on three hits over seven sharp innings Saturday, recording eight strikeouts in the process.

Greinke kept the Rockies' bats quiet all night until Trevor Story connected on a two-run homer in the seventh inning, ruining the shutout bid and shrinking the D-Backs' lead to 3-2. However, the ace right-hander quickly rebounded to retire Alexi Amarista and exit with the lead. Fernando Rodney would later close the door on a comeback attempt, giving Greinke his second win in a row. The 33-year-old leads Arizona with 10 wins on the season and increased his K:BB ratio to an excellent 124:22 in the process. His last scheduled start before the All-Star break would fall next Friday against the Reds.

  • Zach Davies SP | WAS

Brewers' Zach Davies: Early run support leads to ninth win

Davies (9-4) allowed four runs on five hits and two walks in six innings during Saturday's win over the Marlins. He struck out five.

Davies continues to benefit from some exceptional run support this season, as he is tied for the second-most wins (nine) in the National League despite some unimpressive numbers. The 24-year-old has only notched four quality starts in 17 tries this season, and his 5.03 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 60 strikeouts across 91.1 innings fail to move the fantasy needle. He's lined up to make his next start Thursday against the Cubs.

  • Cardinals' Michael Wacha: Fans season-high nine in win

Wacha (6-5) struck out nine batters over six scoreless innings in Saturday's win over Washington. He allowed just four hits and one walk.

Shutting down the highest-scoring team in the National League is impressive, and Wacha has now allowed just three earned runs with 17 strikeouts in 16 innings over his last three starts. He sports a 4.16 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 8.7 K/9 for the campaign, and his 3.64 FIP suggests he could also have statistical improvement ahead. Wacha projects to face the Marlins at Busch Stadium in his next start.

  • Sammy Solis SP | SD

Nationals' Sammy Solis: Activated from DL

Solis (elbow) was activated from the disabled list Saturday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNsports.com reports.

Solis is back with the big club after being sidelined for more than two months with elbow inflammation. The 28-year-old struggled in a small sample size before landing on the disabled list, but he has the opportunity to work back into a prominent role for Washington given the lack of quality arms in the Nationals' bullpen. Jacob Turner was designated for assignment to clear room on the roster for Solis.
