Sammy Solis SP | SD
Nationals' Sammy Solis: Expects to rejoin Nats over weekend
Solis (elbow) is expected to be activated from the disabled list either Saturday or Sunday, Chelsea Janes of The Washington Post reports.
Solis has been on the disabled list since April with inflammation in his elbow, and after a two-week rehab assignment that spanned seven games, he finally appears to be ready to rejoin the Nationals. The Washington bullpen has struggled all season, so the 28-year-old could climb up the depth chart quickly if he pitches well following his activation.

Chase Anderson RP | TEX
Brewers' Chase Anderson: Will miss 4-6 weeks
Anderson (oblique) is expected to miss 4-6 weeks, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
This is a difficult development for the Brewers' rotation as Anderson has been enjoying a breakout season. He suffered an oblique strain during an at-bat against the Reds earlier in the week and now it has been confirmed that he'll be out well beyond the All-Star break. If he makes it through rehab without any setbacks, look for an early-August return for the right-hander.

Zack Wheeler SP | PHI
Mets' Zack Wheeler: Set to start Saturday
Wheeler (biceps) was activated from the DL in advance of Saturday's start against the Phillies.
He ended up missing just over the minimum 10 days on the DL with biceps tendinitis, as his last start was June 19. Wheeler has a 5.29 ERA and 1.54 WHIP with 61 strikeouts in 66.1 innings this season and has yet to return to his pre-Tommy John surgery form.

Jack Flaherty SP | DET
Cardinals' Jack Flaherty: Tabbed for All-Star Futures Game
Flaherty has been selected to represent the Cardinals in the All-Star Futures Game, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.
After a dominating stint at Double-A Springfield in which he generated a 1.42 ERA and 62:11 K:BB over 63.1 innings, Flaherty received a promotion up to Triple-A Memphis and has continued to impress. The 21-year-old right-hander recently recorded 10 strikeouts over six innings in a start against Colorado Springs and owns an impressive 8-3 record, 2.29 ERA and 1.02 WHIP across 90.1 minor-league frames this season. He is notably the only player for the Cardinals organization selected for the Futures Game, and given his rapid rise through the ranks thus far, he could be on the cusp of the majors heading into 2018 spring training.

Alex Wood RP | ATH
Dodgers' Alex Wood: Fans eight to stay undefeated
Wood (9-0) allowed one run on two hits and three walks over six innings in Friday's win over the Padres. He struck out eight.
After allowing a leadoff double, Wood buckled down and retired the next nine batters he faced, seven by strikeouts. The 26-year-old continues to dominate opponents this season; he's compiled a 1.98 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 83 strikeouts in 12 starts (68.1 innings) for the Dodgers. He'll look to stay undefeated against a difficult Diamondbacks team that has scored the fourth most runs all season.
-
Jon Gray SP | TEX
Rockies' Jon Gray: Earns win in first start back
Gray (1-0) allowed just two runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out 10 over six innings in a victory Friday against Arizona.
Gray made his return from the disabled list, where he had been with a foot injury since April 13. Despite the layoff, Gray looked exceptionally sharp. He fired 102 pitches, including a ridiculous 17 swinging strikes. Gray struck out 185 batters in just 168 innings last season, and he showed the nasty stuff he exhibited in 2016 hasn't gone anywhere despite the injury.

Robbie Ray SP | SD
Diamondbacks' Robbie Ray: Walks five in fourth loss
Ray (8-4) struck out nine but gave up four runs as he allowed five hits and five walks over six innings in a loss Friday to the Rockies.
Ray remains utterly nasty, as this is already his eighth start with at least nine strikeouts, but his control remains an issue. He has now issued at least four walks seven times this year, and this marks the third time he has walked five batters. With 128 strikeouts in 100 innings already, fantasy owners will deal with the occasional wildness, but right now, it's the only thing keeping Ray from reaching the next level and attaining ace status.

Justin Nicolino SP | CIN
Marlins' Justin Nicolino: Optioned to New Orleans
Nicolino was optioned to Triple-A New Orleans following Friday's game against Milwaukee, Andrew Gruman of the Associated Press reports.
Nicolino was moved to the bullpen earlier in June after carrying a 4.95 ERA and 1.70 WHIP through his first five starts. The Marlins will be adding Tom Koehler to the roster to start Saturday against Milwaukee, and Nicolino will be the roster casualty.
-
Gerrit Cole SP | NYY
Pirates' Gerrit Cole: Blasted for seven runs Friday
Cole (6-7) allowed seven runs on 10 hits and two walks while striking out seven over 5.1 innings to take the loss Friday against the Giants.
Cole entered the fourth inning with a 3-2 lead, but he was then lit up for five more runs before being forced from the contest. He came into the game having allowed just one run in each of his last three starts, but he's also allowed seven runs in three of his last six outings, and his ERA sits at 4.51. His massive swings of inconsistency have been maddening to fantasy owners, making him a risk/reward lineup option. He'll make his next start Wednesday against the Phillies.

Johnny Cueto SP | LAA
Giants' Johnny Cueto: Earns win despite shaky outing Friday
Cueto (6-7) allowed three runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out three across five innings to earn the victory Friday against the Pirates.
Cueto struggled to keep the Pirates hitters off the basepaths, but was fortunate to receive plenty of run support and net his sixth victory of the season. Although his 4.26 ERA has made him a disappointment to those who drafted him, he did come into this contest having allowed just three runs over his previous 14 innings covering two starts, and he'll look to get back on track in his next start Thursday against the Tigers.
