Seth Lugo SP | KC
Mets' Seth Lugo: Picks up second win against Giants
Lugo (2-1) allowed four runs on seven hits and three walks with two strikeouts over 5.2 innings in Friday's win over the Giants.
Lugo missed what would have been his third consecutive quality start in three tries, but he still did enough to keep the Mets in the game. It was a sloppy effort, though -- he induced just five swinging strikes and used 95 pitches without even completing the sixth inning. Despite the rough outing, though, Lugo still owns a 3.72 ERA in three starts, which the Mets will gladly take given the state of their banged-up rotation.

Kyle Freeland SP | COL
Rockies' Kyle Freeland: Takes fifth loss against Dodgers
Freeland (8-5) allowed five runs on 10 hits and three walks with three strikeouts over six innings in a loss Friday against the Dodgers.
Freeland allowed more than four runs for the first time since his second start of the season, April 12 against the Padres. He just couldn't miss bats, as he induced just seven swinging strikes on 110 pitches. Freeland's has had a high WHIP all season, but 10 hits and 13 baserunners both mark a season high as his WHIP is now all the way up to 1.46.

Adam Wainwright SP | STL
Cardinals' Adam Wainwright: Deals seven strong frames in Friday's no-decision
Wainwright gave up two runs on two hits and two walks over seven innings Friday but came away with a no-decision in a 4-3 loss to the Pirates. He struck out five.
Jameson Taillon was just as good for Pittsburgh, leaving the bullpens to settle the matter. Wainwright threw 66 of 97 pitches for strikes in delivering just his fifth quality start of the year, but after being hammered for nine runs in two separate outings this month, the veteran righty still carries a 5.35 ERA. Things won't get any easier for him Wednesday on the road against the dangerous Diamondbacks.

Alex Wood RP | ATH
Dodgers' Alex Wood: Remains undefeated with win over Rockies
Wood (8-0) allowed one run on three hits and two walks while striking out seven over six innings to pick up the win Friday over the Rockies.
Wood was nasty all night long, as he induced a ridiculous 22 swinging strikes over 98 pitches. His magical season continues as he remains undefeated and now has his ERA all the way down to 1.86. The Dodgers pushed this start back so he could specifically face the Rockies, and Wood did the job, helping Los Angeles build a 2.5 game lead in the National League West.

Jameson Taillon SP | TOR
Pirates' Jameson Taillon: Fans seven in no-decision Friday
Taillon allowed two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out seven over six innings Friday but didn't factor into the decision in a 4-3 win over the Cardinals.
It's the 25-year-old's third quality start of the season and first since returning from the DL on June 12. Taillon now has a sharp 3.33 ERA and 46:18 K:BB in 51.1 innings and will look to build on those numbers Thursday at home against the Rays.

Patrick Corbin SP | TOR
Diamondbacks' Patrick Corbin: Takes tough loss against Phillies
Corbin (6-7) allowed just one run on eight hits and a walk with five strikeouts over 6.2 innings Friday but still took the loss against the Phillies.
Despite the loss, Corbin picked up his second straight quality starts. He now owns a solid 2.95 ERA and a stellar 18:4 K:BB over his past three starts. Corbin's 4.89 ERA this season is still underwhelming, but at least he has started to show a semblance of his old form in his most recent starts.

Stephen Strasburg SP | WAS
Nationals' Stephen Strasburg: Struggles in no-decision Friday
Strasburg (8-2) allowed five runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out five across five innings but received no decision Friday against the Reds.
Strasburg was clobbered for four runs in the first inning before settling down, but the Nationals were able to provide enough offense after his departure to take him off the hook for a potential loss. This is the second time over his last three starts in which he's allowed at least five runs, and as a result his ERA has moved from 2.91 to 3.57. Regardless, as long as he remains healthy, he'll continue to be a high-upside fantasy option. He'll make his next start Wednesday against the Cubs.
-
Luis Castillo SP | CHW
Reds' Luis Castillo: Fires five shutout innings in debut Friday
Castillo allowed two runs on five hits and five walks while striking out five across five innings but received no decision Friday against the Nationals.
In his first big-league start, Castillo was fortunate to get away with putting 10 runners on base, including a pair of homers, but was in line for the win until the bullpen blew a 5-2 lead. It's very possible that his time in the rotation will quickly come to an end, as Brandon Finnegan (shoulder) is expected to return from the disabled list in the near future. Castillo will make his next start Wednesday against the Brewers.

Jose Urena SP | LAA
Marlins' Jose Urena: Fires six shutout innings Friday
Urena (6-2) allowed no runs on five hits and three walks while striking out three across six innings to earn the win Friday against the Cubs.
Urena held the Cubs bats silent while getting a pair of runs of offensive support to help him earn his sixth victory of the campaign. He's allowed just three runs over his last 18 innings covering three starts to lower his ERA to 3.33, and he's remained a strong fantasy option for the majority of the season. He'll make his next start Thursday against the Mets.

Ross Stripling SP | KC
Dodgers' Ross Stripling: Recalled from Triple-A
Stripling was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma on Friday.
Stripling was sent down just eight days ago after allowing seven runs over two consecutive outings. With Chris Hatcher going on the disabled list with a shoulder injury, though, the Dodgers need a fresh arm in their bullpen. Stripling had a 2.51 ERA and 1.18 WHIP over his first 32.1 innings before the meltdown, and the Dodgers will hope his short time in the minors will be enough for him to find that form again.
