Severino (7-4) took the loss Wednesday, surrendering six runs on six hits and two walks over three innings as the Mets fell 8-3 to the Twins. He struck out two.

Three of the hits off the right-hander went for extra bases, including a solo homer by Byron Buxton in the second inning and a two-run blast by Matt Wallner in the third. Severino had given up only four runs and zero homers in his last three starts combined, but he remains prone to poor outings -- he's been tagged for at least six runs in three of his last eight trips to the mound, stumbling to a 5.32 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 36:14 K:BB through 45.2 innings over that stretch. He could have a hard time righting the ship in his next start, which is scheduled to come on the road early next week in Coors Field.

Padres manager Mike Shildt said Wednesday that Musgrove (elbow) will make a rehab appearance with a minor-league affiliate Sunday, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

The right-hander threw about 40 pitches in a two-inning simulated game Tuesday and has now been fully cleared for game action. Musgrove has been sidelined since late May due to a bone spur and bone bruise in his right elbow, and he'll likely need at least a couple starts in the minors before being ready to rejoin the Padres.

The Dodgers optioned Wrobleski to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Wrobleski did a solid job in his first four major-league starts, posting a 4.05 ERA and 15:7 K:BB over 20 innings. Someone needed to be sent down to make room for trade-deadline pickup Jack Flaherty, however, and the Dodgers have chosen to remove Wrobleski from the five-man rotation rather than fellow rookie River Ryan. The left-hander will rejoin the rotation at Triple-A Oklahoma City, where he's allowed five runs with a 17:3 K:BB across 10.1 frames this season.

Sanchez (7-7) took the loss against the Yankees Wednesday, allowing six runs on eight hits and a walk over 5.2 innings. He struck out seven.

Sanchez didn't pitch as poorly as his final line would indicate -- the majority of the damage against him came on DJ LeMahieu's grand slam in the second inning. The left-hander would then keep the Yankees off the board for three straight innings. Sanchez allowed a pair of two-out singles in the sixth before he was replaced by Jose Ruiz, who would allow both inherited runners to score. It's the third straight loss for Sanchez, who's struggled to a 6.59 ERA in his last five outings. His ERA is up to 3.36 on the season with a 1.28 WHIP and 98:31 K:BB across 21 starts (120.2 innings). Sanchez is projected for a tough road matchup with the Dodgers early next week.

Marlins manager Skip Schumaker said Wednesday that Cabrera is expected to make his next scheduled start Sunday in Atlanta after testing on his left knee came back clean, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Cabrera was removed from his start Tuesday versus the Rays in the sixth inning after tweaking the knee while covering first base earlier in the contest. However, the right-hander's departure seems to have been mostly precautionary. Cabrera has put up a 6.65 ERA over 10 starts with Miami this season.

Munoz (2-5) picked up the win Wednesday over Tampa Bay, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out seven.

Munoz allowed a run in both of the first two innings on a Christopher Morel homer and a Jonny DeLuca RBI triple. However, the 24-year-old right-hander would settle in and blank the Rays over his final three frames while recording seven strikeouts, matching a season high. Munoz now sports a 5.45 ERA at the big-league level this year with a 1.38 WHIP and 57:32 K:BB across 66 innings. He figures to remain in Miami's rotation after Trevor Rogers was traded to the Orioles, and with that, Munoz's next outing is currently lined up for early next week at home versus the Reds.

Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said Wednesday that Pallante will remain in the rotation after Lance Lynn (knee) was placed on the 15-day injured list, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Pallante had appeared to be the most likely candidate to lose his rotation spot following the Cardinals' acquisition of Erick Fedde earlier in the week, but Lynn's knee injury gives Pallante a reprieve. The 25-year-old Pallante has pitched well since joining the rotation in late May, posting a 3.61 ERA and 43:18 K:BB over 52.1 frames covering 10 starts. He could still be a candidate to shift to the bullpen when Lynn returns, but for now, Pallante will continue getting regular turns in the St. Louis rotation.

Montas is scheduled to make his first start with the Brewers on Friday against the Nationals in Washington, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

The right-hander was acquired from Cincinnati on Monday, and he'll get a few days to settle in for his new team before debuting this weekend. Montas hasn't been particularly effective this season with a 5.01 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 78:41 K:BB over 93.1 innings, but in recent years, the Brewers have been one of the better teams in the majors when it comes to getting the most out of their pitchers.

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said Wednesday that Megill will move to the bullpen following the acquisition of right-hander Paul Blackburn on Tuesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Mendoza suggested the move to a relief role could be temporary, as the Mets want to keep Megill stretched out and may eventually send him back to Triple-A Syracuse to make regular starts. At least for the time being, however, the big right-hander will be the odd man out of the Mets' five-man rotation and will operate as a multi-inning reliever.

Blackburn is scheduled to make his first start for the Mets on Friday against the Angels in Anaheim, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Blackburn has yet to be officially added to the Mets' 26-man active roster after being acquired via trade from the Athletics on Tuesday, but that will happen this weekend. The right-hander has been limited to just nine starts this season because of a foot injury but has been decent when healthy, holding a 4.41 ERA and 38:14 K:BB over 51 innings. With Blackburn joining the rotation, the Mets will send No. 5 starter Tylor Megill to the bullpen, at least temporarily.
