Lugo (8-6) took the loss Friday against the Twins, allowing seven runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out one over four innings.

Lugo was tagged for a season-high seven runs, and for the second straight outing in which he failed to complete five innings. The 35-year-old struggled from the start, allowing a trio of runs in the first inning, including a Matt Wallner solo homer. The right-hander needed 82 pitches to record just 12 outs, continuing a rough stretch in which he's posted a 6.49 ERA and allowed six home runs over his last five starts. Lugo will look to regroup in his next scheduled outing against the Nationals.

Ryan (11-5) earned the win Friday against the Royals, allowing one run on four hits while striking out five over five innings. He did not issue a walk.

Ryan's only blemish of the day came against the very first batter he faced, as he surrendered a leadoff homer to Mike Yastrzemski before settling in to blank Kansas City the rest of the way. The right-hander has now allowed two runs or fewer in seven of his last eight starts, continuing to provide elite consistency atop Minnesota's rotation. Ryan will take a sharp 2.79 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 146:25 K:BB into his next scheduled outing against the Yankees.

Civale (3-7) took the loss Friday against Cleveland, surrendering nine runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out six over 3.1 innings.

After not allowing an earned run across 17.1 innings in his previous three starts, Civale was knocked around from the jump Friday, with Cleveland scoring five runs in the first inning alone. The right-hander never found his footing, ultimately exiting in the fourth for his shortest outing since his season debut. The rough performance was a stark contrast to the dominant form he'd shown recently. Civale will look to quickly put this start behind him when he takes the mound again next week.

Bibee (8-9) earned the win over the White Sox on Friday, allowing four runs on five hits and four walks while striking out seven across 5.1 innings.

Bibee looked comfortable through the early innings, yielding just three hits over his first five frames, before running into trouble in the sixth, when a pair of walks and a two-RBI single from Curtis Mead ended his day. The right-hander has now been tagged for four earned runs in each of his last three outings and hasn't held an opponent to fewer than two runs since May 22. While Bibee continues to miss bats at a respectable rate, his occasional command lapses and tendency to unravel late in starts have become real concerns.

Schlittler did not factor into the decision in Friday's 5-3 extra-inning loss to the Astros, allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk with three strikeouts over five innings.

Schlitter surrendered a two-run homer in the first inning but kept the Astros in check from there, throwing 66 of 97 pitches for strikes with 11 whiffs. Although the 24-year-old has yet to complete six innings in any of his five starts this season, he's held opponents to three earned runs or fewer in each outing. He'll carry a 4.38 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 24:12 K:BB across 24.2 innings into a home matchup with the Twins next week.

Brown did not factor into the decision in Friday's 5-3 extra-inning win over the Yankees, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk with five strikeouts over 5.1 innings.

Brown cruised through five scoreless innings before allowing four baserunners and two runs in the sixth, exiting in a 2-2 tie after 89 pitches. The right-hander has surrendered just seven earned runs over four outings since the All-Star break, but he's logged only one quality start during a six-game winless streak. Even so, he still ranks in the top 10 among qualified starters in ERA (2.51), WHIP (0.98) and strikeouts (160) across 136.1 innings. Brown will try to get back in the win column in a home matchup with the Red Sox next week.

Henderson (elbow), who was placed on the injured list earlier Friday, has been diagnosed with a right flexor strain, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Although the injury is significant enough to cause Henderson to miss his next turn through the rotation and land on the shelf, imaging revealed that the right-hander didn't suffer any damage to his UCL. Manager Pat Murphy said the diagnosis was better than what the team was expecting, adding that he doesn't expect the 23-year-old to be out for an extended period of time. Tobias Myers was recalled from Triple-A Nashville and will start Saturday's contest in place of Henderson, though that spot in the rotation will eventually fall to Jacob Misiorowski (tibia), who could return from the IL next week.

Ginn (2-4) took the loss against the Orioles on Friday, allowing three runs on three hits and two walks with nine strikeouts over five innings.

Ginn allowed three runs on two homers in the first inning but settled in to finish with four scoreless frames. He generated a whopping 17 swinging strikes on 87 pitches and now owns a 3.54 ERA through four starts since returning to the rotation July 22. He'll carry a 4.39 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 58:17 K:BB across 53.1 innings into a home matchup with the Rays next week.

Elder (4-9) took the loss against Miami on Friday, allowing five runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three over six innings.

Elder was under pressure for most of the outing, frequently working with runners on base, and Miami took advantage by scoring in three straight frames. Heriberto Hernandez launched a two-run homer against Elder in the fifth inning. The right-hander has struggled mightily since the All-Star break, posting an 8.69 ERA with six losses and eight home runs allowed over 39.1 innings in eight starts. He's lined up to face the Mets on the road in his next outing.

Sugano (9-5) earned the win against the Athletics on Friday, allowing one run on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts over seven innings.

Sugano allowed a run in the fifth inning and worked around 11 hard-hit balls to notch his third quality start in his past five outings. Over that stretch, the 35-year-old has gone 3-0 while holding opponents to three earned runs or fewer in each appearance. He'll take a 4.24 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 80:31 K:BB across 121 innings into a home matchup with the Mariners next week.
