The Yankees recalled Winans from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Monday.

Winans will start Monday's game in Cincinnati, filling in for the injured Ryan Yarbrough (oblique). He earned the promotion after collecting a impressive 0.90 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 59:13 K:BB over 50 innings at Triple-A. With Marcus Stroman (knee) nearing a return from the injured list, Winans may be in line for just one start with the Yankees.

The Giants reinstated Verlander (personal) from the paternity list Monday.

Verlander was away from the team for the entire weekend while he observed the birth of his second child. He didn't miss a start while he was on paternity leave and will return to the mound for the Giants' series opener versus the Marlins on Tuesday.

The Royals activated Wright (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list Monday and optioned him to Triple-A Omaha.

Wright appears to be back to full health, but the Royals were unwilling to clear a spot for him on the 26-man active roster after he turned in a 5.48 ERA and 21:14 K:BB over 23 innings across eight rehab starts between Omaha and Double-A Northwest Arkansas. The right-hander hasn't pitched at the big-league level since undergoing right shoulder surgery in October 2023. He covered three innings in his most recent outing for Omaha on Saturday, and Wright could continue to get stretched out as a starter while he sticks around at Triple-A.

The Twins claimed Gillispie off waivers from the Marlins on Monday and optioned him to Triple-A St. Paul, Bobby Nightengale of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.

The 27-year-old has made six starts for the Marlins this season, posting an 8.65 ERA and 23:11 K:BB over 26 frames. Gillispie has experience as a starter and reliever, though it's not clear what role the Twins have planned for him. In any case, he'll provide some experienced pitching depth at St. Paul.

Forret (back) has allowed three runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks while striking out 14 batters over 12 innings in his four starts for High-A Aberdeen since being reinstated from the 7-day injured list June 4.

The 21-year-old right-hander missed all of May due to a back issue, but he's quickly returned to form since being activated from the IL. Over nine total starts with Aberdeen this season, Forret owns a 1.34 ERA, 0.66 WHIP and 43:10 K:BB in 33.2 innings. Forret may not be far away from earning a promotion to Double-A Chesapeake.

Perkins struck out two batters and allowed one hit and no walks over three scoreless innings out of the bullpen in Sunday's 3-0 loss to the Guardians.

Perkins earned a call-up from Triple-A Las Vegas prior to Sunday's contest and was immediately put to work. He entered the contest in the top of the seventh while the Athletics faced a three-run deficit and proceeded to retire nine of the 10 batters he faced to finish out the game. Prior to his promotion, Perkins had been magnificent while working out of the Las Vegas rotation, logging a 2.86 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 68:20 K:BB in 44 innings. Though he looks set to operate as a multi-inning reliever for the time being, Perkins will be leading candidate to start when an opening in the Athletics rotation emerges.

Astros general manager Dana Brown said that Arrighetti (thumb) could throw a bullpen session Tuesday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

If Arrighetti does complete a side session Tuesday, it would be his first time stepping back on the mound since early April, when he was placed on the injured list after he fractured his right thumb when it was struck by a ball during batting practice. The right-hander will presumably need to complete multiple bullpen sessions while incorporating all his pitches before he advances to facing live hitters. After that, Arrighetti will likely require at least a couple of minor-league rehab starts to build up his pitch count, so he shouldn't be expected to make his return from the 60-day injured list until after the All-Star break.

Festa (1-2) took the loss Sunday against the Brewers, allowing eight runs on 12 hits and three walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out three.

It was a rough day for Festa, who made his first appearance behind an opener this season. He gave up a solo home run to Rhys Hoskins, the first batter he faced, in the second inning before Brice Turang added on with a three-run blast in the fifth. Festa's ERA sits at 10.00 over his last four outings (18 innings). Overall, his ERA is up to 6.39 this season with a 1.61 WHIP and 32 strikeouts across 31 innings.

Glasnow (shoulder) tossed two scoreless in his rehab start with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday. He gave up no hits, walked three batters and struck out one.

Glasnow took the mound in a game for the first time since April 27 and understandably showed some rust, issuing three free passes and throwing just 22 of 48 pitches for strikes. Despite the control issues, the veteran righty got through two scoreless frames without allowing a hit. He topped out at 98.3 miles per hour with his fastball, so his velocity appears to be in a good place as he works toward a return to the big-league club. Glasnow will likely need at least a couple more rehab outings before he's ready to be activated from the 60-day injured list.

Gordon (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Albuquerque, MLB.com reports.

Gordon will make a pair of rehab starts, with the first coming Tuesday and second Sunday. There's no official word if he'll be activated immediately after the latter outing, or if he'll have a spot in the big-league rotation upon his return.
