Walter (1-1) allowed a run on five hits and struck out five without walking a batter over six innings to earn the win over the Cubs on Friday.

Walter limited the damage to a solo home run by Nico Hoerner in the fifth inning. This was his third quality start in five outings this season, and it was a good bounce-back effort after he was tagged for seven runs over six innings by the Angels last Saturday. Walter is now at a 3.34 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 30:2 K:BB over 29.2 innings. Lance McCullers (foot) will return Saturday, and it's unclear if Walter will stay in the rotation, but he's pitched better than Ryan Gusto if the decision comes down purely to numbers. Walter would be lined up for a road start in Colorado next week if he keeps his place in the rotation.

Cameron (2-4) took the loss after throwing four innings, allowing five runs on three hits and three walks while striking out four in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Dodgers.

Cameron allowed just three hits, but he struggled through his shortest start of the campaign. It was a rare blip in an otherwise great season for the 25-year-old, who allowed two runs or fewer in all but one of his starts entering Friday's game. Despite the rough start, his ERA is still a highly respectable 2.78 through 51.2 innings on the season. He is set to face the Mariners on the road in his next start.

Pepiot didn't factor into Friday's decision against the Orioles, allowing four runs on five hits and two walks while striking out one batter across 1.2 innings.

Pepiot induced three groundball outs in the first frame and was gifted a six-run lead by the Rays heading into the second. However, Pepiot ended up yielding a two-run double and two-run single. He was lifted after giving up another single and finished his outing with just five outs recorded, tossing 48 pitches (30 strikes). It was the first time in his major-league career that he failed to make it out of the second inning. Pepiot will look to bounce back in his next start, which is lined up for next week at home against the Athletics.

Glasnow (shoulder) tossed 2.1 innings in a rehab outing with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, allowing five runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out three batters.

Glasnow was slated to throw three innings Friday, but he needed 66 pitches to record seven outs before being lifted from the contest. The veteran right-hander used up most of his leash in the first frame, when he threw 40 pitches and gave up four runs. While Glasnow walked just one batter in the start, his control was off, as he spotted only 37 of his pitches for strikes. On a positive note, Glasnow's average fastball velocity was 96.6 miles per hour, and he induced nine whiffs. He's slated for at least one more rehab appearance, and given that he's already nearly built up to 70 pitches, Glasnow could have a chance at returning shortly before the All-Star break.

Povich (hip) made a minor-league rehab start for Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday, allowing five runs (three earned) on seven hits and one walk in 4.1 innings. He struck out three.

Povich was not sharp in his first rehab outing, but he was encouragingly able to throw 75 pitches. The Orioles have not yet announced whether the left-hander will require another appearance in the minors. Before going on the injured list with left hip inflammation, Povich logged a 5.15 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 68:23 K:BB across 64.2 frames (13 outings).

Sugano (6-4) came away with the win against the Rays on Friday, allowing seven runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out two across five innings.

It was far from a pretty outing for Sugano, who gave up home runs to Jonathan Aranda, Josh Lowe and Brandon Lowe as part of a six-run second inning. Sugano was still able to complete five innings, which qualified him for the win as the Orioles' batters lit up the Rays' pitching staff for 22 runs, the team's most since Sept. 28, 2000. Sugano posted a 3.04 ERA and 1.04 WHIP over his first 12 major-league starts, but he has struggled on the mound as of late with an 8.15 ERA and 2.04 WHIP across his last four outings, as Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun notes. Sugano is slated to face the Rangers on the road next week.

May took a no-decision after throwing four innings, allowing four runs on six hits and three walks while striking out three in Friday's 5-4 win over the Royals.

May battled through his shortest start of the season. Walks were again an issue for the 27-year-old -- after three more walks against the Royals, he has now walked 13 batters over his last four starts. It will be interesting to see how the right-hander will hold up over the second half of the season, as he's already up to over 82 innings on the year, well past his previous career high of 56 innings.

Peterson (5-4) took the loss against the Pirates on Friday, allowing five runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out five across 4.2 innings.

Peterson yielded four of his five runs in the second inning, with the Pirates driving in runs in four consecutive plate appearances, and he didn't get enough run support to escape with the no-decision. Peterson strung together seven quality starts in eight outings after the beginning of May, but he has given up five earned runs in back-to-back appearances, which has inflated his numbers to a 3.30 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 83:34 K:BB across 95.1 innings. He'll look to get back on track in his next start, which is lined up for next week at home against the Brewers.

Keller (2-10) earned the win against the Mets on Friday, allowing one run on five hits and one walk while striking out four across 5.1 innings.

Keller allowed one baserunner or zero in each of the first five innings he pitched, with his lone blemish coming in the fourth, when he yielded a solo home run to Juan Soto. Keller has given up three earned runs or fewer in 10 of his last 11 starts, but he was finally able to get run support from the Pirates batters and came away with his first win since March 28. Keller now has a 3.90 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 77:25 K:BB across 99.1 innings this season. He'll look for his third win in his next start, tentatively slated for next week at home against the Cardinals.

McCullers (foot) will come off the 15-day injured list Saturday and start against the Cubs, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

McCullers landed on the 15-day injured list in mid-June due to a right foot sprain. He resumed throwing shortly after his move to the IL and showed enough progress during his bullpen sessions to forgo a rehab assignment. McCullers has posted a 3.20 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 35:10 K:BB in 25.1 innings across five starts this season.
