Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that there's a "very good chance" Schmidt (lat) will return from the 60-day injured list and rejoin rotation this weekend in Chicago against the Cubs, Max Goodman of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Schmidt will make a third and final rehab start with Double-A Somerset on Monday before rejoining the big club. He has been terrific in his first two rehab outings, yielding two runs with an 11:2 K:BB covering 6.2 innings. Boone noted that Luis Gil (back) is also expected to rejoin the rotation this weekend, so the Yankees look set to go with a six-man setup for a bit.

Webb (11-9) allowed six runs on eight hits over six innings Sunday, striking out four and taking a loss against Miami.

Webb turned in four scoreless frames before Miami plated four runs in the fifth inning, highlighted by Kyle Stowers' three-run shot. The Marlins scored another pair in the sixth. Webb has given up 10 runs over his last two starts after allowing just four total runs in five outings from Jul. 31 through Aug. 21. He's been tagged with at least four earned runs in 10 starts this season; he did that eight times during the 2023 season. Webb now owns a 3.43 ERA with a 154:44 K:BB through 183.2 frames. He's in line for a start in San Diego this weekend.

Leiter is expected to finish out the season as part of the Rangers' rotation, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports. "We feel like he's done everything he can at Triple-A," Rangers general manager Chris Young said. "Now he needs some consistent starts at the major-league level. We're looking forward to him getting that in September."

Leiter, who started the second game of a doubleheader Wednesday, is expected to be called up for Monday's start against the Yankees. The right-hander logged a 3.51 ERA at Triple-A Round Rock in 2024, easily his best result in three professional seasons in the minors. He has a 12.83 ERA in four MLB starts this season, but Leiter's outing last Wednesday was the best of the four with two runs allowed across four frames.

DeGrom allowed one and one walk while striking out five over 2.2 scoreless innings for Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday.

DeGrom made the third start on his rehab assignment and is expected to make at least one more Saturday at Double-A Frisco. The right-hander has allowed one run on three hits and one walk while striking out 10 over 6.2 innings during his rehab stint. Conceivably, deGrom could rejoin the Rangers' rotation at some point during next week's road trip that runs through Arizona and Seattle from Sept. 10-15.

Schwellenbach allowed two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out two over 5.2 innings in a no-decision versus Philadelphia on Sunday.

Schwellenbach came up an out short of a quality start, though he started to falter in the sixth inning, allowing three straight two-out hits that culminated in a two-run double from Nick Castellanos that tied the game at 2-2. Dylan Lee was able to strike out Bryson Stott, leaving Schwellenbach to take his second no-decision in a row. The rookie right-hander is now at a 3.69 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 104:19 K:BB through 92.2 innings over 16 starts in the majors. His next start is projected to be at home versus the Blue Jays.

Nola allowed two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out nine over six innings in a no-decision versus Atlanta on Sunday.

For the second time in three starts, Nola faced Atlanta and allowed two runs. He gave up a solo home run to Michael Harris in the third inning and another run on a fielder's choice in the fourth. Nola has quality starts in three of his last four outings and now sports a 3.29 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 162:43 K:BB through 172.1 innings over 28 starts this year. He's projected to make his next start at Miami in a favorable matchup.

Wrobleski (1-2) allowed 10 runs on 10 hits and two walks while striking out two over 5.1 innings, taking the loss Sunday versus the Diamondbacks.

Wrobleski completed five frames for the fifth time in six major-league starts, but this was an arduous effort. He gave up an eight-run rally in the second inning, a solo shot to Eugenio Suarez in the third and one more run in the sixth before his exit. Wrobleski is now at a 6.82 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 20:11 K:BB across 30.1 innings in the majors this year. With none of the Dodgers' injured starters expected back before mid-September, Wrobleski is likely to get at least one more start in the majors, which lines up to be at home versus the Guardians.

Pfaadt (9-7) allowed three runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out 10 over 5.2 innings to earn the win Sunday over the Dodgers.

While it wasn't the sharpest outing, Pfaadt did his part after the Diamondbacks put up nine runs over the first three innings. He had allowed 26 runs (24 earned) across 34.1 innings over his last six starts, so this counts as improvement. The right-hander is now at a 4.32 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 155:34 K:BB through 160.1 innings over 27 starts this season. His career high for innings across all levels in a single year is 167, set back in 2022 -- he'll likely set a new high, but fatigue shouldn't be a concern during the regular season. Pfaadt is projected to make his next start at Houston.

Miller (10-8) allowed three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out four over 4.2 innings to take the loss versus the Angels on Sunday.

Miller has failed to complete five innings in three of his last six starts, though this was his first loss since June 29. He threw 53 of 91 pitches for strikes in this inefficient outing, which saw him walk multiple batters for just the second time in his last 12 appearances. Miller is now at a 3.30 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 147:36 K:BB through 155.1 innings over 27 starts. He pitched a total of 151 innings across all levels last year, so he should be good for at least couple of starts before fatigue would be a concern. If the Mariners get hot in September, Miller may be asked to tough it out for the regular season, but there's a chance he gets shut down early if the team ends up out of the playoff race. For now, Miller is projected to make his next start at St. Louis.

Dana (1-0) allowed two runs on two hits and four walks while striking out four over six innings to earn the win over the Mariners on Sunday.

Dana was called up from Double-A Rocket City on Friday in advance of his debut. While his control was a little shaky, he was able to limit the Mariners to a Luke Raley solo home run in the second inning and a Victor Robles sacrifice fly in the third. Dana has improved over time in the minors in regards to cutting his walk rate -- he posted a 2.6 BB/9 while maintaining a 2.59 ERA and 0.95 WHIP over 135.2 innings with Rocket City this year. The 20-year-old right-hander was sharper than Samuel Aldegheri, who debuted Friday, so if the Angels go with a five-man rotation in September, Dana has the early edge to staying in a starting role. He's tentatively projected to make his next start on the road versus the Rangers, which would hold true if the Angels opt to go with six starters.
