Baz (2-2) earned the win against the Padres on Saturday, allowing two runs on two hits and three walks with five strikeouts over five innings.

Baz allowed a two-run homer in the first inning and then rebounded with four scoreless frames before being lifted at 78 pitches. The 25-year-old looked healthy after being scratched with the flu last Sunday, and he has now yielded three earned runs or fewer in six of seven outings since the All-Star break. On the season, he owns a 3.49 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 41:20 K:BB across 49 innings and lines up for a home matchup with the Twins next week.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Saturday that Glasnow (elbow) could return to Los Angeles' rotation in mid-September in a "best-case scenario," per MLB.com.

Glasnow landed on the injured list for the second time this season Aug. 16 due to right elbow tendinitis. He played catch both Friday and Saturday and said after the latter session that he is "confident" he will return to the Dodgers' rotation before the end of the season, per Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times. Roberts previously stated that Glasnow will require a minor-league rehab assignment prior to a potential activation, and the ace pitcher's timeline suggests that, at maximum, he could pitch in three more regular-season games ahead of the playoffs.

Detmers is expected to be added to the Angels' roster and will start Tuesday against the Dodgers, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

MLB rosters expand to 28 players Sunday, and the Angels will add Detmers to seemingly create a six-man rotation for the tail end of the regular season, per Fletcher. Detmers was sent down to Triple-A Salt Lake on June 1 after giving up four earned runs or more in seven of his eight prior major-league starts. He has a 5.54 ERA and 1.40 WHIP across 78 innings with Salt Lake this season, but he's been better over his last three starts with a 1.29 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 29:7 K:BB across 21 frames.

Herz (2-7) took the loss against the Cubs on Saturday, allowing four runs on three hits and two walks with five strikeouts over 4.2 innings.

Herz cruised through four scoreless innings but then hit a wall in a four-run fifth frame. It was the first time in eight outings since the All-Star break that the rookie allowed more than two earned runs, though he has only pitched deep enough to earn one quality start in that span. On the season, Herz owns a 4.09 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 88:26 K:BB across 70.1 innings and lines up to face the Pirates next weekend.

Assad (7-4) earned the win against the Nationals on Saturday, allowing three runs on eight hits and two walks with four strikeouts over six innings.

Assad allowed nine hard-hit balls and generated just two swinging strikes on 90 pitches but performed well enough to earn his second straight quality start. The 27-year-old has yielded three earned runs or fewer in each of his eight outings since the All-Star break, though he has failed to complete five frames in half of them. On the season, he owns a 3.21 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 106:53 K:BB across 126 innings and lines up for a home matchup with the Yankees next weekend.

The Dodgers will recall Wrobleski from Triple-A Oklahoma City to start Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks, Kirsten Watson of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports.

Through the first five starts of his MLB career, Wrobleski has put up a 4.68 ERA and 1.20 WHIP alongside an 18:9 K:BB through 25 innings. He's now set to receive another chance to prove he can stick around in a Dodgers rotation that has been plagued with injuries, though he'll have the tough task of facing a Diamondbacks offense that boasts an incredible .850 OPS since the start of August.

Scherzer (shoulder) said Saturday that he feels fine physically and has made a change in his mechanics that allows him to throw without pain, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.

The 40-year-old also said that he believes he is ready for a rehab assignment and wants to pitch in the majors again this season. However, manager Bruce Bochy said Tuesday that Scherzer will need a bit of time to build back up after he starts throwing, so the right-hander doesn't appear particularly close to heading out on a rehab assignment. The right-hander has been on the shelf since Aug. 2 due to fatigue in his right shoulder.

Wicks (oblique) is expected to be reinstated from the 60-day injured list to start Sunday's game against the Nationals in Washington, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Wicks had been scratched from his scheduled rehab start with Triple-A Iowa on Friday in anticipation of his return to the big club, though it wasn't immediately known whether he would be activated this weekend or early next week. The Cubs have ultimately decided to bring Wicks back for Sunday, with Jameson Taillon getting bumped back a day in the schedule to start Monday against the Pirates as a result. Before he landed on the IL on June 15 with a Grade 2 right oblique strain, Wicks compiled a 4.18 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 32:10 K:BB over 28 innings. He got stretched out to 4.2 innings and 73 pitches over the course of four minor-league rehab outings.

The Dodgers placed Kershaw on the 15-day injured list Saturday due to a bone spur in his left big toe.

Kershaw was forced out of his start Friday against the Diamondbacks in the second inning due to the injury, and manager Dave Roberts said Saturday that the southpaw's toe has swollen to the point where it's hard for him to move around, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic. Kershaw will now be sidelined until at least Sept. 15, and the Dodgers will bring up Ben Casparius from Triple-A Oklahoma City to provide extra coverage in the bullpen for the time being. The Dodgers haven't announced who will take Kershaw's spot in the starting rotation.

The Rangers optioned Dunning to Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday.

Dunning was lit up for five earned runs over three innings during his last appearance Friday, and he'll now head back to Triple-A in an effort to right the ship. Chase Anderson was selected from Round Rock in a corresponding move to replenish Texas' bullpen depth.
