Estes allowed a hit and no walks with a strikeout over four scoreless innings in Sunday's 11-4 loss to the Mariners.

Estes was called on to eat innings in Sunday's blowout loss and delivered four scoreless frames out of the bullpen. It marked his first big-league appearance since April 6, when he opened the year in the rotation and gave up 12 earned runs over seven innings across two starts. With the Athletics' rotation dealing with injuries, Estes could play his way back into a starting role before season's end.

Reds manager Terry Francona said Sunday that Lowder (oblique) could return from the 60-day injured list before the end of the season, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.

Lowder has been shelved all season, first with a forearm injury and then with a severe oblique strain, but he's been throwing off a mound and is scheduled for two more bullpen sessions Tuesday and Friday before the Reds map out the next steps in his recovery. Francona suggested Sunday that the most important thing for Lowder is to enter the offseason knowing he's healthy, but the young righty still has a chance to help the big club late in the campaign.

Reds manager Terry Francona said that Burns (elbow) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Tuesday, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.

Burns will throw off the mound for the first time since he was placed on the 15-day injured list Aug. 15 due to a Grade 1 right flexor strain. The rookie lacks a clear timeline to return from the IL, but the Reds could accelerate his activation if they elect to bring him back as a reliever.

Patrick did not factor into the decision Sunday against the Giants, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out seven.

Patrick was impressive overall Sunday, logging seven strikeouts while holding San Francisco to just two runs on a Luis Matos homer in the second inning. The 27-year-old Patrick sports a 3.60 ERA this season with a 1.30 WHIP and 106:34 K:BB. Despite the strong outing from the right-hander, it remains to be seen whether the Brewers will stick with a six-man rotation. If not, Patrick will likely head back to Triple-A.

Skenes (8-9) picked up the win Sunday against the Rockies, allowing three hits and no walks across seven scoreless innings. He struck out seven.

Skenes got his revenge from an Aug. 2 start against Colorado, when he yielded four runs in five innings. Sunday's outing pulled Skenes out of what could be considered a rough patch for the 23-year-old phenom, as he had yielded six runs in 10 innings across his past two appearances. Skenes has logged seven or more Ks in four of his last five starts. He'll take a 2.07 ERA into his next start, which is slated to come in Boston next weekend.

Brown (0-1) took the loss Sunday against Pittsburgh, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks over 3.2 innings. He struck out two.

The 25-year-old was recalled from Double-A Hartford to make his MLB debut Sunday, and he was hit hard by the Pirates. Brown surrendered a pair of extra-base hits, including a three-run home run by Jared Triolo. Brown posted a 3.14 ERA and a 57:13 K:BB across 43 innings with Hartford. German Marquez (biceps) is nearing a return, but if Marquez isn't ready to go, Brown would likely draw another start next weekend against the Cubs.

Pepiot (9-10) picked up the win Sunday against St. Louis, allowing one hit and one walk across five scoreless innings. He struck out three.

Pepiot had no issues with the Cardinals' lineup, allowing just two baserunners in five innings of work. Surprisingly, he was pulled after five innings and 63 pitches. An injury hasn't been reported, so it seems as though the Rays are limiting his innings in the closing stages of the regular season. Pepiot has thrown a career-high 153 innings in 2025, topping his previous high of 130 innings set last season. The 28-year-old hadn't thrown fewer than 84 pitches in an appearance since June 27. He had allowed 17 runs across four starts spanning 21.2 innings before Sunday's outing. Pepiot is lined up to face the Nationals next weekend.

Liberatore (6-11) took the loss Sunday against Tampa Bay, allowing four runs on three hits and three walks across 4.1 innings. He struck out five.

Liberatore hasn't completed five innings in six of his last seven outings, and a fourth-inning solo homer marked Liberatore's fourth consecutive outing yielding a long ball. The 25-year-old left-hander has endured a rough August, going 0-3 with a 5.40 ERA and a 15:8 K:BB across 21.2 innings spanning five starts. He's tentatively scheduled to make his next start in Cincinnati next weekend.

Rogers (7-2) picked up the win Sunday against Houston, allowing one run on five hits and three walks across seven innings. He struck out nine.

Rogers' stretch of outstanding play continued against Houston -- he allowed fewer than two runs for a sixth straight start. He's completed at least seven innings in five of those appearances, owning a 1.07 ERA and a 41:7 K:BB across 42 innings during that stretch. The left-hander has a 1.40 ERA in 83.1 innings this season. He hasn't posted a sub-4.00 ERA since the 2021 campaign. Rogers will look to keep rolling in his next start, which is tentatively scheduled to come in San Francisco.

Arrighetti (1-5) took the loss Sunday against Baltimore, allowing two runs on six hits and no walks across 5.2 innings. He struck out two.

Arrighetti was stuck with a fifth straight loss despite coming one out short of a quality start. The 25-year-old has been inconsistent since returning Aug. 6 from a four-month IL stint due to a right thumb fracture. He's yielded five runs in two of his four starts and has allowed two runs in each of his other two appearances. Since coming off the injured list, Arrighetti has logged a 6.52 ERA and a 15:10 K:BB across 19.1 innings. He's on track to face the Angels next weekend.
