Montero (1-4) took the loss Friday against the Twins, giving up six runs (five earned) on eight hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out five.

Montero gave up home runs to three of the first seven batters he faced. He still managed to get through five innings, but Montero has now given up multiple home runs in three of his six career starts. The rookie right-hander has struggled as of late, allowing five runs in three consecutive starts and seeing his ERA rise from 4.64 to 6.38.

Lopez (9-7) earned the win over the Tigers on Friday, allowing two runs on six hits and one walk over seven innings while striking out seven.

Lopez gave up a two-run homer to Javier Baez, but outside of that, he mowed through the Tigers lineup and tossed at least seven innings while allowing two runs or fewer for the second straight outing. The veteran righty is heating up with four quality starts in his last six trips to the mound, and he's seen his ERA drop from 5.63 to 4.73 over that stretch.

Senga was removed from his start Friday against Atlanta due to a left calf strain.

Senga went to the ground grabbing at his left calf while running to cover first base on a pop-up in the sixth inning. The Mets have yet to provide any information regarding the severity of his injury, though the right-hander was able to walk off the field under his own power. Senga was activated off the injured list earlier Friday after missing the first several months of the year due to issues with his right shoulder and triceps, and he allowed two earned runs on two hits and a walk while striking out nine batters through 5.1 frames in his season debut.

Cobb (hip/shoulder) is scheduled to throw five innings for Triple-A Sacramento on Friday in what is expected to be his final rehab start, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Friday's rehab start will be Cobb's sixth as part of his recovery from offseason hip surgery and midseason shoulder soreness. If all goes well, the right-hander would be in line to pitch Wednesday against the Athletics, a move that would push Jordan Hicks to the bullpen. Cobb has yielded five runs with a 20:5 K:BB across 16.1 minor-league innings during his rehab stint.

Winn is scheduled to undergo a season-ending ulnar nerve transposition procedure Monday on his right elbow, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Winn was initially placed on the 15-day injured list June 22 due to a nerve issue in his right elbow. He began his rehab program by throwing bullpen sessions in early July, but he was shut down from throwing Monday after experiencing additional discomfort and has now been recommended for surgery. Winn will shift his focus to getting healthy for spring training, but he'll finish the 2024 campaign with a 3-8 record, 7.16 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 48:20 K:BB across 55.1 innings.

Alcantara (elbow) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Saturday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Alcantara threw off a mound Wednesday for the first time since undergoing Tommy John surgery last October and will toss another bullpen Saturday. The right-hander remains on schedule for a full recovery by spring training 2025.

Rodriguez (shoulder) threw two innings in a simulated game Friday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Rodriguez began throwing off a mound July 9, and Friday marks the first time he has pitched in a simulated game. He's slated to throw another bullpen session Monday and could be closing in on a rehab assignment, though the Diamondbacks have yet to confirm the next steps in his recovery.

Kelly (shoulder) threw two innings in a simulated game Thursday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Kelly faced hitters for the first time since being placed on the injured list in late April with a strained right shoulder. The 35-year-old is slated to throw again Sunday and looks to be nearing a rehab assignment. Kelly has only made four starts this season, and will likely require multiple rehab starts before being cleared.

The Athletics reinstated Blackburn (foot) from the 60-day injured list ahead of his start Friday against the Angels.

Blackburn has been out since May 10 after suffering a stress reaction in his right foot. He has since made three rehab appearances in the minor leagues, giving up eight earned runs in just four total innings of work. He managed to reach only 49 pitches in 2.2 frames during his latest outing Saturday, and manager Mark Kotsay said the right-hander will be limited to roughly 65-to-70 pitches during his first MLB start in over two months. Hogan Harris was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding move.

The Athletics optioned Harris to Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday.

Harris will cede his spot in the rotation to Paul Blackburn (foot) on Friday with Blackburn coming off the 60-day IL. Harris' option comes as a bit of a surprise considering how effective he's been for Oakland. The 27-year-old has a 2.98 ERA in 54.1 innings spanning 11 appearances (nine starts).
