Flexen (2-10) took the loss against the Rangers on Wednesday, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks over 4.2 innings while striking out three.

Flexen struggled throughout the contest, allowing multiple baserunners in four of the five frames in which he took the mound while throwing just nine of his 23 first pitches for strikes. The right-hander has now allowed multiple runs in six consecutive starts and has failed to get through five innings in each of his last two. Flexen has also issued multiple walks in three straight outings and currently holds an 18:11 K:BB in July to go along with a 5.60 ERA.

McDermott allowed three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out three batters over four innings in a no-decision against Miami on Wednesday.

McDermott was called up Wednesday to make his big-league debut after posting a 3.96 ERA and 1.43 WHIP over 91.0 innings in Triple-A. The right-hander got through three scoreless frames against the Marlins but struggled in the fourth, giving up three runs on four hits, including a Josh Bell homer. That proved to be his final frame, as Baltimore brought in a reliever to begin the fifth. Though he didn't pitch particularly well, there's a good chance McDermott will get another turn in the rotation with Baltimore hosting a doubleheader against Toronto in five days.

Cole (3-2) allowed six runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out four over 5.2 innings to take the loss versus the Mets on Wednesday.

Five of the six runs on Cole's line came from the three home runs he surrendered. He had posted consecutive quality starts before this setback. Cole's now at a 5.40 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 38:12 K:BB through 35 innings over seven starts this season. The right-hander's reached 100 pitches in three straight outings, but he'll now need to find better consistency in the quality of his performances. He's projected to make his next start at Philadelphia.

Cabrera allowed three runs on three hits and four walks while striking out six batters over 5.1 innings in a no-decision against Baltimore on Wednesday.

Cabrera yielded only three hits -- all singles -- but put four batters on base on free passes. Three of those walks went to the final eight hitters he faced, and the right-hander ran out of steam in the sixth after getting through five frames without allowing a run. Cabrera departed in the sixth with the bases loaded after letting three straight batters get aboard, and all three of those runners later came around to score. Cabrera walked five batters in his previous start, so he has now issued nine free passes over 10 innings across his past two appearances. That isn't a recipe for success, though he's managed to keep afloat by yielding a manageable four earned runs over that span.

Manaea allowed two runs on three hits and four walks while striking out four over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Yankees on Wednesday.

Manaea came up an out short of qualifying for the win, though he labored through the appearance with 103 pitches (57 strikes). The two runs on his line came on solo home runs by Gleyber Torres and Juan Soto. Manaea has allowed more than three runs just once in his last eight outings, but he's had trouble pitching deep into games. For the season, the southpaw has a 3.74 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 101:45 K:BB through 106 innings over 20 starts. His next start is projected to come at home versus the Twins.

Parker (5-6) allowed six runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out five over three innings to take the loss versus the Padres on Wednesday.

The six runs allowed were a season high for Parker, who has given up at least four runs in four of his last six starts. He struggled in his last outing before the All-Star break and labored through his three frames Wednesday as well. The rookie southpaw is now at a 4.34 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 81:24 K:BB through 95.1 innings over 18 starts this year. Parker's next start is projected to be at Arizona.

Castillo allowed five hits and issued two walks while striking out seven batters over six scoreless innings in a no-decision against the Angels on Wednesday.

Castillo induced a modest nine whiffs, but he still managed to tally a healthy seven punchouts. The veteran hurler has tossed exactly six scoreless frames in two of his past three outings, and he's recorded a quality start in four straight appearances. Castillo's strikeout numbers are down this season -- he's on pace to record fewer punchouts than innings pitched for just the second time in his career -- but he's otherwise been reliable, posting a 3.38 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 126:37 K:BB over 130.1 innings.

Waldron (6-9) allowed three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out four over six innings to earn the win Wednesday over the Nationals.

Waldron turned in his eighth quality start in 10 outings since the start of June, and the Padres' offense offered plenty of support to back him up. The right-hander snapped a five-start winless stretch. He's maintained a 3.64 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 103:33 K:BB through 118.2 innings over 21 starts this season. Waldron's next appearance is projected to be at home versus the Dodgers.

Canning allowed one run on four hits and three walks while striking out six batters over five innings in a no-decision against Seattle on Wednesday.

Canning experienced right elbow soreness in his previous start July 19, but the issue didn't cause him to miss any turns in the rotation. The right-hander didn't seem to be limited at all Wednesday, as he tossed 94 pitches and completed five frames for the first time since June 29. Canning didn't get any run support while he was in the contest and had to settle for a no-decision, but this was a good outing for him after he had given up 12 earned runs across 12 innings over his previous three starts. He's been a player to avoid in fantasy this season, posting a 5.04 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 79:41 K:BB over 110.2 innings.

Eflin allowed two runs on six hits and struck out four without walking a batter over 5.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

Eflin had some trouble early on, allowing an RBI single in the first inning and a solo home run in the third, both to Vladimir Guerrero. After that, Eflin settled in, and the Rays were able to get him off the hook by the time he exited the contest. The right-hander has allowed two or fewer runs in just three of his last seven outings as he contends with a tough part of the schedule. He's now at a 4.09 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 87:13 K:BB through 110 innings over 19 starts on the year. Eflin is projected for a favorable home matchup versus the Marlins next week.
