Garcia (elbow) threw a live bullpen session Saturday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Manager Joe Espada said Saturday that Garcia will begin a minor-league rehab assignment if the right-hander responds well to Saturday's session. Garcia is in the latter stages of his recovery from Tommy John surgery in May of 2023. In his last full season in 2022 with the Astros, Garcia went 15-8 over 28 starts with a 3.72 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 157:47 K:BB across 157.1 innings.

The Astros placed Bloss on the 15-day injured list Saturday due to right shoulder discomfort.

Bloss was lifted from Friday's 14-11 win over the Orioles after allowing two runs on six hits and one walk while striking out two over 3.2 innings in his major-league debut. The Astros recalled right-hander Luis Contreras from Triple-A Sugar Land in a corresponding move.

Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Saturday that Dunning will move to the bullpen with Max Scherzer (back) set to return Sunday, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Across 12 starts this season, Dunning holds a 4-6 record with a 4.73 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 67:29 K:BB across 59 innings, though he's given up 11 runs over his last three starts and has failed to make it to the sixth inning since April 7 against the Astros. Dunning could prove to be more effective out the bullpen in long relief while starting on occasion depending on the Rangers' schedule.

Darvish (groin) is expected to come off the injured list to make his next start with San Diego, per MLB.com.

Darvish struggled in a minor-league rehab start with High-A Fort Wayne on Wednesday, allowing six runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out three batters over 3.1 innings. He threw only 49 pitches in that outing, but the Padres nonetheless appear intent on moving him back into the rotation for his next appearance. It hasn't yet been announced when Darvish will make that start, but given the typical time between outings, it's logical to expect Monday or Tuesday versus Washington to be the target date.

Manager Bob Melvin said Saturday that Cobb (hip/shoulder) has progressed to throwing live batting practice, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

The Giants skipper added that Cobb isn't far off from beginning a rehab assignment, though he didn't give an estimate as to when the right-hander might be ready to report to a minor-league affiliate. Once the 36-year-old begin his assignment, he'll certainly require a lengthy stay in the minors after spending the first three months of the season on the injured list following offseason hip surgery in addition to a bout with soreness in his pitching shoulder.

Garrett was scratched from his scheduled start Sunday due to left elbow discomfort, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Garrett reported having problems in his elbow following a bullpen session Friday, so the Marlins will play it safe and hold him out of Sunday's contest. The 26-year-old southpaw will undergo further testing, and the results will help determine if he needs to spend some time on the injured list. Miami has not yet named a replacement starter for Sunday.

Williams (elbow) struck out four and allowed one earned run on four hits and no walks across five innings in his rehab start Friday with Triple-A Columbus.

Making the fifth start of his rehab assignment, Williams delivered his longest outing yet in terms of both innings and pitches (66, 47 strikes). A decision on Williams' next step hasn't been decided, but the Guardians may want to see him get over the 70-pitch mark with one more rehab start during the upcoming week before he makes his long-awaited return from the 60-day injured list. The young right-hander has been on the shelf all season with elbow discomfort, an injury that stemmed from him making an awkward throw during a weighted-ball workout in spring training.

It's a blow for the soon-to-be 23-year-old Bloss, who made his major-league debut Friday against the Orioles. He was lifted after 3.2 innings due to right shoulder discomfort, after allowing two runs on six hits and one walk while striking out two. With Bloss and Justin Verlander (neck) on the injured list, the Astros will likely have to decide on a fill-in starter from either the bullpen or the minors, though they have multiple off days next week.

Senga (shoulder) will throw live batting practice Sunday, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports.

Senga has had no issues throwing bullpen sessions over the last several days, so he will now graduate to throwing 20 pitches against hitters at the Mets' complex in Florida. Assuming all goes well, the 31-year-old righty will likely throw another few live sessions before being cleared to begin a rehab assignment with one of the Mets' minor-league affiliates.

Ray (elbow) will make a rehab appearance for Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Ray pitched 1.2 innings during his most recent appearance in rookie ball, and he's slated to stretch out to three innings Sunday. The 32-year-old lefty will almost certainly make a few more rehab appearances following Sunday, keeping him on track for a return in mid-July.
