Kutter Crawford SP | BOS
Red Sox's Kutter Crawford: Next start pushed back
Crawford's next scheduled start will be pushed back to early next week against the Phillies, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.
Crawford's next turn comes up Sunday versus the White Sox, but the Red Sox want to give him some extra rest given his recent struggles (he's allowed four or more earned runs in four of his last five starts). Boston is expected to go with a bullpen game Sunday.

Jose Urquidy RP | PHI
Astros' Jose Urquidy: Shifted to 60-day IL
The Astros transferred Urquidy (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Wednesday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
The transaction frees up a 40-man roster spot for right-hander Nick Hernandez. Urquidy has been on the shelf all season with a right forearm strain, and after suffering a setback during his rehab assignment in late May, he underwent season-ending surgery on his elbow Wednesday. The Astros haven't disclosed whether Urquidy underwent the second Tommy John surgery of his career or another procedure, making his availability for the start of the 2025 season uncertain at the moment.

Ranger Suarez SP | BOS
Phillies' Ranger Suarez: In line to start Saturday
Suarez (hand) is in line to start Saturday versus the Mets in London after playing catch again Wednesday, Paul Casella of MLB.com reports.
Suarez had been slated to throw a bullpen session Wednesday, but he instead played catch for the second straight day. The change of plans doesn't appear to have resulted in him being pushed back in the Phillies' pitching schedule, as the southpaw remains on track to make his next start this weekend. Suarez exited his most recent outing Saturday against the Cardinals after being hit on the left hand by a comebacker.

Tobias Myers RP | NYM
Brewers' Tobias Myers: Returns to majors
The Brewers recalled Myers from Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.
Myers should be available out of the bullpen beginning with Wednesday's game against the Phillies, but he might be needed to make some starts while the Brewers are without multiple rotation members. The rookie right-hander holds a 5.40 ERA and 27:10 K:BB over 26.2 innings for Milwaukee, covering six starts and one relief appearance.
-
Aaron Ashby RP | MIL
Brewers' Aaron Ashby: Recalled ahead of start
The Brewers recalled Ashby from Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.
He will draw the start Wednesday in Philadelphia, taking the rotation spot of the injured Robert Gasser (elbow). Ashby was knocked around in his lone previous start with Milwaukee this season back on April 8 in Cincinnati, and though he's struggled on the whole at Nashville this season (6.80 ERA, 1.99 WHIP in 43.2 innings), he fired seven shutout frames in his most recent outing last Friday. Ashby could be needed for multiple turns through the rotation with Gasser likely to be out for a while.

Joey Cantillo SP | CLE
Guardians' Joey Cantillo: Activated at Triple-A
Triple-A Columbus reinstated Cantillo (hamstring) from its 7-day injured list Wednesday.
Cantillo is ready to make his season debut for Columbus after he had been sidelined for more than two months to begin the campaign due to a left hamstring strain. He made just one rehab start in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League prior to being activated, so Cantillo could face some limitations with his workload in his initial outings with Columbus.

Robert Gasser SP | MIL
Brewers' Robert Gasser: Placed on IL with flexor strain
The Brewers placed Gasser on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a left flexor strain.
Initial testing on Gasser's left elbow provided encouraging results, but a second opinion evidently revealed the strain. It's not clear at this point how much time the rookie southpaw might miss, but he'll almost certainly miss more than the minimum 15 days. Gasser has been a bright spot for Milwaukee this season, posting a 2.57 ERA and 16:1 K:BB over 28 frames covering five starts.

Kyle Bradish SP | BAL
Orioles' Kyle Bradish: Start could be pushed to Friday
The Orioles are considering pushing Bradish's next scheduled start back a day to Friday in Tampa Bay, Danielle Allentuck of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.
Cade Povich will join Baltimore's taxi squad and looks in line to be called up from Triple-A Norfolk to start against the Blue Jays on Thursday, which had been Bradish's turn. Bradish doesn't seem to be battling any physical issue, but rather the team is simply looking to give him a little extra rest. Bradish is coming off his worst start of the season, having allowed five runs on seven hits and three walks over 2.2 frames against the Rays this past Saturday.

Joe Boyle SP | TB
Athletics' Joe Boyle: Impresses again in rehab outing
Boyle (back) started Triple-A Las Vegas' win over El Paso on Tuesday, firing three scoreless innings during which he allowed a hit and issued two walks while recording three strikeouts.
Boyle worked up to 58 pitches -- 35 of which he located for strikes -- in his second consecutive scoreless multi-inning rehab outing. The right-hander appears to be ready for activation based on his solid body of work over that pair of starts, and an injury-riddled Athletics starting rotation would undoubtedly benefit from his return.

Zach Eflin SP | BAL
Rays' Zach Eflin: Activated for Wednesday's start
The Rays reinstated Eflin (back) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday versus the Marlins in Miami.
Tampa Bay optioned right-hander Justin Sterner to Triple-A Durham to clear the way for Eflin's return to the 26-man active roster. Eflin missed just over the minimum 15 days while recovering from lower-back inflammation, and the Rays signed off on him returning from the IL without a rehab assignment after he completed a 40-pitch, two-inning simulated bullpen session Sunday. According to MLB.com, manager Kevin Cash suggested that Eflin could face some limitations with his workload Wednesday, but the Rays will wait and see how the right-hander fares as the game unfolds before making any decisions on whether to cut his start short.
