Lodolo (2-0) earned the win Friday over the Angels, allowing one run on seven hits over 6.1 innings. He struck out six.

While not as dominant as his first outing, Lodolo turned in an incredibly efficient performance against the Angels, needing just 80 pitches (57 strikes) to record his first quality start of the season. The 26-year-old southpaw has allowed just one run through his first 12 innings this year after he pitched to a 6.29 ERA across seven starts in an injury-plagued 2023 campaign. Lodolo is slated for a tougher matchup against the Phillies in his next outing.

Jay cleared waivers Friday and was sent outright to Triple-A Syracuse, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Jay allowed one earned run in four innings during his first career stint in the majors, and he will officially remain within the organization but no longer hold a spot on the 40-man roster. The 30-year-old southpaw has thrown 5.2 scoreless innings in Triple-A this season, and he could re-earn a roster spot if he continues to find success in the minors.

Manager Carlos Mendoza said Friday that Peterson (hip) is roughly one week away from beginning a rehab assignment, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Peterson has been sidelined all season after undergoing hip surgery in November. He will need to spend a significant amount of time in the minors as he builds up to a starter's workload, but he will have plenty of time to do so, as he is not eligible to return from the IL until May 27.

Miley said Friday that he expects to make his next scheduled start despite taking a comebacker off his left knee during his outing Tuesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Miley was hit by a 108-mph line drive during the first inning of Tuesday's loss and remained in the game for only two more innings. However, it seems the veteran southpaw was able to escape the incident without any serious concerns. He's surrendered four earned runs across seven innings this year while striking out two batters and walking four, and he's lined up to start again Tuesday versus the Pirates.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Buehler (elbow) needs at least one more rehab outing before returning to the rotation, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Buehler struggled in his rehab outing with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, allowing two runs on four hits and four walks while striking out three across 2.2 innings. Roberts noted that Buehler's execution Thursday was "not great," and the right-hander will continue his rehab assignment until his command improves. Landon Knack will stay in the Dodgers' rotation for at least one more start.

Gipson-Long is set to undergo Tommy John surgery Monday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

After having multiple doctors examine his elbow, the decision has been made for Gipson-Long to get UCL reconstruction on his right elbow. The right-hander started the season on the 15-day IL with a groin injury, and he was progressing in his rehab assignment before experiencing right forearm tightness. Gipson-Long will be shelved for the rest of the season and will likely miss much of 2025.

The Diamondbacks placed Nelson (elbow) on the 15-day injured list Friday.

Nelson left Thursday's game against the Rockies after he took a comebacker off his arm in the second inning. Nelson will be replaced on the active roster by left-hander Jordan Montgomery, who will make his season debut Friday against the Giants. Nelson has started four games this season, posting a 4.60 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 13:5 K:BB over 15.2 innings.

The Diamondbacks recalled Montgomery from Triple-A Reno on Friday.

Montgomery made two tune-up starts in Triple-A, surrendering nine earned runs across 7.2 innings while striking out nine batters and walking five. While his minor-league numbers aren't exactly encouraging, the 31-year-old southpaw is still expected to be a quality contributor to Arizona's starting rotation after posting a 3.20 ERA across 188.2 innings between St. Louis and Texas last year. Ryne Nelson (elbow) was placed on the 15-day IL in a corresponding move.

Bradish (elbow) will make his next rehab start with Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Bradish made his first rehab appearance Tuesday with Double-A Bowie. He threw 44 pitches and allowed just one hit over three scoreless innings while striking out four. Bradish will now move up to Triple-A Norfolk, as the right-hander continues his rehab from a partial UCL tear that kept him from pitching in spring training.

Puk (0-4) took the loss Friday against the Cubs, allowing seven runs on seven hits and three walks over three innings. He struck out four.

It was another short outing for the southpaw as Chicago scored three runs over the first two innings before putting up four more in the third. Puk's failed to pitch more than 4.2 innings in any of his starts so far and sports an ugly 9.22 ERA with a 2.63 WHIP while issuing a league-high 17 walks across 13.2 innings. With Braxton Garrett (shoulder) inching closer to a return, the Marlins could elect to move Puk back to the bullpen, where he had considerably more success last season.
