Tomoyuki Sugano SP | COL
Orioles' Tomoyuki Sugano: Rocked in final 2025 start
Sugano (10-10) took the loss Saturday as the Orioles fell 6-1 to the Yankees, giving up four runs on five hits -- including three home runs -- over 4.1 innings. He struck out three without walking a batter.
The 35-year-old righty tossed 48 of 73 pitches for strikes before getting the hook, but Sugano may have been catching too much of the plate -- Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton and Ryan McMahon all took him deep in the first two innings. Sugano lost his last five decisions to put his first North American season in the books, with his last win coming Aug. 14. Over 157 innings for Baltimore, he posted a 4.64 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 106:36 K:BB.

Keider Montero SP | DET
Tigers' Keider Montero: Goes 4.1 innings vs. Red Sox
Montero didn't factor into the decision Saturday against Boston, allowing one run on five hits across 4.1 innings. He struck out seven.
While Montero had a short leash Saturday, it was a strong bounce-back outing for the right-hander, after he gave up three runs in three innings while walking four against Atlanta his last time out. The 25-year-old Montero will finish the regular season at 5-3 with a 4.37 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 72:31 K:BB across 90.2 innings.

Ranger Suarez SP | BOS
Phillies' Ranger Suarez: Exits early Saturday
Suarez (thigh) exited Saturday's contest against the Twins in the fifth inning, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
Suarez was hit in the groin area by a comebacker in the top of the fifth, ultimately leaving the contest thereafter. The left-hander was laughing as he walked off, and the team deemed it to be an inner-thigh contusion on his left leg. More information on his status will likely be provided in the near future, but in the meantime, Max Lazar replaced him on the mound versus Minnesota.

Clay Holmes RP | NYM
Mets' Clay Holmes: Silences Marlins in 12th win
Holmes (12-8) earned the win Saturday against the Marlins, allowing one hit and three walks in six scoreless innings. He struck out two.
With the Mets' backs against the wall in a heated wild-card race, Holmes came through with one of his best performances of the season. It was the first time all year that the right-hander fired at least six shutout innings, and he induced 11 groundouts on just 78 pitches. New York had to manage Holmes' workload down the stretch of his first full campaign as a starter, but it's still been a successful transition overall. He'll close the regular season with a 3.53 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 129:66 K:BB over a career-high 165.2 frames.

Eury Perez SP | MIA
Marlins' Eury Perez: Mixed results in sixth loss
Perez (7-6) took the loss Saturday against the Mets, allowing three runs on three hits and three walks in 5.1 innings. He struck out 11.
It was a mixed bag for Perez, who struggled with hard contact by yielding three extra-base hits but fanned a season-high 11. The hard-throwing right-hander had an up-and-down year after a late start amid his recovery from 2024 Tommy John surgery, though he flashed plenty of upside for fantasy managers to take into consideration ahead of 2026. Perez will end the campaign with a 4.25 ERA across 95.1 innings, but his 1.05 WHIP, 105:32 K:BB and .195 opponent batting average are highly promising figures.

Connelly Early SP | BOS
Red Sox's Connelly Early: Strikes out seven in loss
Early (1-2) took the loss Saturday against the Tigers, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk across five innings. He struck out seven.
Early held the Tigers scoreless through four innings before ultimately allowing two runs on Jahmai Jones' two-out single with the bases loaded, which proved to be enough to stick the rookie with the loss in a 2-1 Red Sox defeat. While Early's dropped back-to-back starts to finish the season, the left-hander's impressed overall in his first four big-league outings. He'll finish the year with a 2.33 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 29:4 K:BB across 19.1 innings.

Nick Frasso SP | LAD
Dodgers' Nick Frasso: Moved to 60-day IL
The Dodgers transferred Frasso (undisclosed) to the 60-day injured list Saturday.
It's unknown what kind of injury Frasso is currently dealing with, but his move to the 60-day IL will open up a spot on the 40-man roster for Andrew Heaney, whose contract was selected by the Dodgers in a corresponding move. Frasso spent the entire season at Triple-A Oklahoma City, logging a 5.49 ERA and 1.58 WHIP across 77 innings.

Andrew Heaney RP | LAD
Dodgers' Andrew Heaney: Contract selected
The Dodgers selected Heaney's contract from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday.
Heaney secured a minor-league deal at the beginning of September after being cut by the Pirates, and he has since given up just one run while striking out 13 batters over 10 innings in Triple-A. The 34-year-old southpaw's turnaround has now bought him another chance to contribute in the majors as a long reliever during the final two games of the regular season. Will Klein was optioned to the Arizona Complex League to clear room on the active roster, and Nick Frasso (undisclosed) was moved to the 60-day IL to create a 40-man spot.

Javier Assad RP | CHC
Cubs' Javier Assad: Receiving another start
Assad is slated to start Sunday's game against the Cardinals at Wrigley Field.
Assad will make a second straight start to close out the regular season after allowing two earned runs over four innings in a no-decision his last time out Sept. 20 versus the Reds. Since the Cubs will begin a best-of-three wild-card series versus the Padres on Tuesday, Assad likely won't be rested enough to remain in consideration for a roster spot during the first round of the playoffs.

Joe Boyle SP | TB
Rays' Joe Boyle: Yields four runs in loss
Boyle (1-4) took the loss against the Blue Jays on Saturday, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks while striking out five across five innings.
Boyle had given up just one earned run over his previous two starts, but he couldn't carry that momentum into Saturday's AL East clash. He generated 15 whiffs on 92 pitches but couldn't avoid the loss as the Rays were limited to just one run. Boyle appeared in 13 games (nine starts) for the Rays in 2025 and will end the season with a 4.67 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 58:28 K:BB across 52 innings.
