Sugano came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Cubs, giving up three runs on five hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out five.

The right-hander wasn't dominant, managing only six swinging strikes among his 95 pitches (58 total strikes), and Sugano left the mound in line for his sixth loss until the Orioles offense scored all four of its runs in the eighth inning. Sugano swooned a bit in late June and early July, getting tagged for 13 runs in 9.2 innings across two starts, but in his last four outings he's posted a somewhat more palatable 4.35 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 19:10 K:BB over 20.2 innings. He lines up to make his next start at home next weekend against the Athletics.

Rasmussen (9-5) picked up the win in Saturday's 4-0 victory over the Dodgers, scattering four hits over 5.1 scoreless innings. He struck out six without walking a batter.

Los Angeles didn't even get a runner into scoring position against Rasmussen, who fired 51 of 73 pitches for strikes before being lifted a couple outs shy of his fifth quality start of the season. The right-hander continues to have his workload monitored by the Rays and hasn't tossed at least six innings since June 8, posting a 3.93 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 34:11 K:BB in 36.2 innings over his last nine outings. Saturday's performance suggests the plan is paying dividends, and Rasmussen is scheduled to make his next start on the road next weekend in Seattle.

Snell (1-1) took the loss Saturday as the Dodgers fell 4-0 loss to the Rays, giving up three runs on five hits over five innings. He struck out eight without walking a batter.

Making his first big-league start since April 2 due to shoulder trouble, Snell pitched well and generated 19 swinging strikes over 82 pitches (57 total strikes), but the Dodgers offense couldn't solve Drew Rasmussen and the Rays bullpen. Yandy Diaz proved to be the southpaw's nemesis in this one, taking him deep in the first and third innings. A healthy Snell would give the Dodgers' rotation a huge boost for the stretch run, and the team plans to deploy a six-man rotation to try and keep him -- as well as Shohei Ohtani, Tyler Glasnow and Clayton Kershaw -- on the mound. As a result, Snell lines up to make his next start at home next weekend against the Blue Jays.

Woods Richardson will no longer start Sunday's game against the Guardians, Bobby Nightengale of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.

The Twins will give Woods Richardson a few extra days of rest after the 24-year-old opened the second half of the season with a 7.04 ERA and 2.09 WHIP through 7.2 innings over two starts. Jose Urena will take the mound to begin Sunday's contest instead; meanwhile, Minnesota has yet to announce when Woods Richardson will make his next start.

Stuart underwent Tommy John surgery earlier this week, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.

Stuart landed on the 60-day injured list July 14, and further tests on his right elbow revealed UCL damage that required Tommy John surgery. Stuart will miss the rest of the 2025 season, and given the recovery timeline for Tommy John surgery, he'll be out for most, if not all, of 2026.

The Pirates optioned Harrington to Triple-A Indianapolis following Friday's game against the Rockies.

Harrington was called up Friday to give the Pirates depth out of the bullpen, but he was rocked for six runs on seven hits and two walks in just two-thirds of an inning. His spot on the 26-man roster will be filled by Dauri Moreta, who was recalled by the Pirates on Saturday.

Manager Alex Cora said Saturday that Houck (elbow) will undergo Tommy John surgery, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Houck has been on the injured list since May with a right elbow strain, and after suffering a setback during his most recent rehab start July 9, he'll now elect to go under the knife to address the injury. The right-hander will close the book on 2025 with an 8.04 ERA and 1.69 WHIP through 43.2 innings, and because his procedure will happen late in the 2025 season, he likely won't be ready to return to a big-league mound until 2027.

The Rockies placed Senzatela on the 15-day injured list Saturday due to a right middle finger blister.

Senzatela was knocked around for eight runs in just two-thirds of an inning during Friday's game against the Pirates, and those struggles were likely due in part to his finger injury. He'll be shut down from throwing and will undergo further testing to map out a rehab program and timeline for his return. Ryan Rolison was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move.

Povich (hip) will be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Monday's game against the Phillies in Philadelphia, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Povich landed on the IL in mid-June with hip inflammation and made one rehab start in late June before being shut down with additional soreness. Since restarting his assignment July 13, the 25-year-old has posted a 3.38 ERA and 0.94 WHIP through 16 innings while striking out 18 batters across four starts between High-A Aberdeen and Triple-A Norfolk. He built up to 86 pitches during his most recent minor-league outing Tuesday, which could allow him to avoid workload restrictions during his first start back in the big leagues.

Sheehan is expected to be part of the Dodgers' six-man rotation moving forward and is scheduled to start Tuesday against the Cardinals, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Even with Blake Snell (shoulder) scheduled to return from the 60-day injured list to start Sunday against the Rays, Sheehan will move into the rotation after Los Angeles cleared another spot by trading Dustin May to the Red Sox on Thursday. In his most recent appearance Wednesday against the Reds, Sheehan worked in relief behind Shohei Ohtani, but Sheehan still covered 3.2 innings and tossed 72 pitches to keep himself stretched out for a starting role. Since making his 2025 Dodgers debut June 18 after completing his recovery from Tommy John surgery, Sheehan has turned in a 3.60 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 26:10 K:BB in 25 innings over six appearances (four starts).
