  • Padres' Michael Wacha: Another scoreless effort

Wacha (7-2) allowed four hits and a walk while striking out five over 6.2 shutout innings to earn the win in Wednesday's 5-0 win over the Guardians.

Wacha was excellent, and he's logged 12.2 consecutive scoreless innings over his last two starts. This is the seventh time this season he's limited opponents to one run or less, and six of those have been scoreless efforts. He's been scored on in just three of his last eight outings. The veteran right-hander now has a 2.89 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 69:21 K:BB through 74.2 innings over 13 starts. Wacha is lined up to make his next start on the road in San Francisco.

  • Aaron Civale RP | CHC

Guardians' Aaron Civale: Struggles in loss

Civale dropped to 2-2 after allowing two runs on five hits and four walks while striking out seven across 3.2 innings in Wednesday's 5-0 loss to the Padres.

Civale gave up solo home runs to Fernando Tatis and Manny Machado. While the seven strikeouts were a season high, Civale's four walks were also his most in five starts, and he needed 95 pitches (52 strikes) to get through the short outing. The right-hander has generally been solid this season, though he's completed six innings just once. He's at a 2.67 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 22:10 K:BB over 27 innings through five starts. Civale is lined up for a favorable home start versus the Athletics next week.

  • Reid Detmers SP | LAA

Angels' Reid Detmers: Punches out eight in no-decision

Detmers didn't factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing a run on three hits and three walks over six innings in a 6-3 loss to Texas. He struck out eight.

A Leody Taveras homer in the third inning was the lone run Detmers allowed Wednesday. The 23-year-old left-hander has struck out eight in consecutive starts while allowing just one run in each outing. He's lowered his ERA from 5.15 to 4.48 with his last two performances while sporting a 1.46 WHIP and 76:26 K:BB over 62.1 innings. Detmers will look to keep rolling in his next start, currently scheduled for next week against the Dodgers.

  • Cardinals' Jordan Montgomery: Strikes out seven in no-decision

Montgomery did not factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks over 6.1 innings in a 8-5 loss against the Giants. He struck out seven.

It wasn't a pretty start for Montgomery, as he failed to retire any of the first five batters he faced in the contest before escaping the inning with only two runs allowed. He settled in after that, however, retiring 11 consecutive hitters between the second and sixth innings, five via strikeout. Unfortunately for Montgomery, Giovanny Gallegos was unable to hold the lead in the ninth, leaving Montgomery stuck with another no-decision. Wins have been hard to come by for the left-hander, as he's been hit with a loss or no-decision in eight starts this season in which he's allowed three runs or fewer.

  • Mike Clevinger RP | PIT

White Sox's Mike Clevinger: Battling biceps soreness

Clevinger exited his start Wednesday against the Dodgers in the fifth inning due to right biceps soreness. He struck out five over 4.2 scoreless frames and allowed three hits and two walks prior to departing.

With two outs in the bottom of the fifth, Clevinger was visited by a trainer after he was crouching in pain and shaking his right arm after throwing a pitch. He was quickly pulled from the contest, with the White Sox confirming shortly thereafter that he had been dealing with a biceps issue. He'll be evaluated Thursday before the White Sox provide another update on his status, but Clevinger seems likely to land on the 15-day injured list. The 32-year-old lowered his ERA to 3.88 and his WHIP to 1.36 prior to his departure.

  • Mike Clevinger RP | PIT

White Sox's Mike Clevinger: Exits with injury

Clevinger was removed from Wednesday's game against the Dodgers with an apparent arm injury, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Clevinger was crouching behind the mound immediately after throwing a pitch to J.D. Martinez in the fifth inning, and he appeared to be in serious pain. The White Sox will take a look at him and should provide more information soon, but early signs do not look promising for the 32-year-old righty.

  • Colin Rea SP | CHC

Brewers' Colin Rea: Allows four runs in loss

Rea (3-4) took the loss Wednesday, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks over five innings against the Twins. He struck out four.

Rea unraveled in the third inning, giving up a one-out double to Edouard Julien before walking Donovan Solano on four straight pitches. They would both come around to score on a Carlos Correa triple, leading to a four-run inning for Minnesota. The right-hander walked three batters for the second time in three starts this month after issuing only seven free passes throughout all of May (five starts). He had also won each of his last three decisions coming in after starting the season 0-3.

  • Bailey Ober SP | MIN

Twins' Bailey Ober: Holds Brewers to two runs

Ober (4-3) earned the win Wednesday, allowing two runs on six hits and one walk over six innings against Milwaukee. He struck out seven.

After surrendering back-to-back home runs to Brian Anderson and Luis Urias in the second inning, Ober allowed only three more hitters to reach base over his six innings of work. The right-hander struck out seven batters for the second straight start and has now gone at least six innings in five of his last eight appearances. Ober has more than held his own this season, limiting opponents to two or fewer runs in seven of his 10 starts.

  • Tigers' Michael Lorenzen: Allows six runs in loss

Lorenzen (2-4) allowed six runs on nine hits across six innings to take the loss in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against Atlanta. He walked two and struck out three.

Lorenzen allowed six runs for the second straight start, with three solo home runs accounting for half of the damage Wednesday. The righty had a 3.21 ERA before this rough patch but has seen that balloon to 4.23. Lorenzen has a fairly thin margin of error because he doesn't miss a ton of bats, and he's now sitting at 47 strikeouts through 66 innings this season. He'll look to get back on track in his next start, which should come early next week against the Royals.

  • Dylan Dodd RP | ATL

Braves' Dylan Dodd: Back in minors

Atlanta returned Dodd to Triple-A Gwinnett following Wednesday's doubleheader with the Tigers.

Dodd was called up Wednesday to start Game 2 and ended up allowing all five of Detroit's runs across four innings in a 6-5 Atlanta win. The 25-year-old lefty now holds a 7.40 ERA in the majors across 24.1 innings and will return to Triple-A where his numbers aren't much better (7.07 ERA and 1.73 WHIP through 35.2 innings).
