Seager went 4-for-5 with two doubles and one RBI in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the White Sox.

Seager went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored earlier in the day as the teams completed a suspended game from Tuesday. He stayed productive in Wednesday's regularly scheduled contest, which saw him put the Rangers ahead for good with an RBI single in the ninth inning. The shortstop has seven multi-hit efforts over his last 16 games, going 21-for-67 (.313) in that span. He's up to a .277/.355/.509 slash line with 29 home runs, 73 RBI, 66 runs scored, one stolen base and 19 doubles through 119 contests this season, matching his games played from last year.

Jimenez is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game in Boston.

Jimenez will hit the bench for the second straight game after he had started each of the previous three contests. Ernie Clement will get a third consecutive start at shortstop, while Addison Barger gets the nod at third base for the third day in a row.

The Athletics recalled Allen from Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday.

Allen earned the promotion after putting up a 1.136 OPS with five home runs and seven stolen bases in August. He has managed a lowly .210/.256/.284 batting line in parts of three seasons with the Athletics, and with Jacob Wilson, Zack Gelof and likely Max Schuemann ahead of him in the pecking order in the infield, Allen may be in store for sparse playing time over the final month of the campaign.

Walls is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

Walls will hit the bench for the series finale after starting each of the past three games, allowing Jose Caballero to pick up a start at shortstop. The Rays value Walls' glovework in the middle infield, but he's been one of the league's least productive hitters this season. Among the 378 players who have logged at least 150 plate appearances heading into Wednesday, Walls ranks 375th with a .493 OPS.

Caballero will start at shortstop and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

After filling in at second base for Brandon Lowe in Tuesday's 3-2 win, Caballero will slide over to shortstop Wednesday while Taylor Walls takes a seat in the series finale. The Rays may not commit to Caballero at any one position, but his ability to play second base, shortstop and third base should open up enough avenues for him to take on a near-everyday role in the infield. Caballero has been a below-average hitter this season with a .658 OPS and 89 wRC+ over 399 plate appearances, but he's been far more valuable in fantasy thanks to his 37-for-50 success rate on stolen-base attempts.

Rivas is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.

Rivas had started each of the last seven games at shortstop while batting .348 and getting on base at a .400 clip, but his playing time is likely to dwindle after top shortstop J.P. Crawford (finger) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Wednesday. At least for the time being, Rivas will stick around as a backup middle infielder, but he could be a candidate to return to Triple-A Tacoma if the Mariners want to open up regular at-bats for him.

Crawford appeared in two rehab games over the weekend and was expected to play in at least one more game for Triple-A Tacoma this week before being activated, but the Mariners opted to reinstate him Wednesday after he checked out fine during a simulated game Monday. The 29-year-old had been on the shelf since late July with a hairline fracture of his right pinky finger, but he should take back an everyday role now that he's been activated. He'll start at shortstop and bat leadoff in Wednesday's game against the Rays.

Lee was placed on Double-A Erie's 7-day injured list Tuesday due to lumbar spine inflammation, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

The 21-year-old was acquired from the Phillies in the Michael Lorenzen trade last summer and is one of the Tigers' top prospects. Lee has been productive at Double-A this season and has a .298/.363/.488 slash line with 12 home runs and 16 steals in 87 games. Depending on how long he's sidelined by the back issue, Lee could get a look with Triple-A Toledo before the end of the campaign.

Wilson, reinstated from the injured list earlier in the day, went 1-for-4 with a run in a win over the Reds on Tuesday.

The rookie was able to carry over a bit of the offensive momentum he'd generated during his rehab assignment at Triple-A Las Vegas, hitting safely for the second time in as many big-league games. Now seemingly back to full health after recovering from the hamstring injury that felled him after a single plate appearance during his MLB debut back on July 19, Wilson should be in line for some steady run at shortstop down the stretch for the non-contending Athletics.

Rocchio is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Royals.

Rocchio started two of the first three games of the series at shortstop but will begin the finale on the bench. Daniel Schneemann will hold down shortstop as the Guardians try to avoid the sweep.
