  • Bobby Witt SS | KC

Royals' Bobby Witt: Another three-hit performance

Witt went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Thursday's loss to the Rays.

Witt drove home Kansas City's second run of the game with a sacrifice fly in the third inning before recording a hit in each of his next three trips to the plate, including a solo homer in the bottom of the ninth. It was the star shortstop's third multi-hit performance in his last four games, and he's now tallied at least one RBI in four straight. Witt is 6-for-11 (.545) through three games to start the month of July, and his .319 average on the season puts him at second in the majors behind Steven Kwan (.367).

  • David Hamilton SS | BOS

Red Sox's David Hamilton: Collects two thefts Thursday

Hamilton went 1-for-5 with a walk, an RBI, two runs and two stolen bases against the Marlins in Thursday's 6-5 extra-innings victory.

Hamilton scored Boston's first two runs of the contest, then collected a go-ahead RBI on a groundout in the 12th frame. The infielder also recorded two swipes of third base, moving him up to fourth in MLB with 23 stolen bases (on 24 attempts) for the season. Though Hamilton has seen his playing time dry up a bit of late, he has continued to produce fairly well. Despite hitting just .200 over his past 35 at-bats, he's recorded a home run, five RBI, eight runs and nine stolen bases during that stretch.

  • Jeremy Pena SS | HOU

Astros' Jeremy Pena: Swats homer in victory

Pena went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional run and a walk in Thursday's 5-3 victory against the Blue Jays.

Houston and Toronto combined for 19 hits in the contest, but only two went for extra bases, and Pena notched the lone long ball with his solo shot to left field in the seventh inning. The shortstop has hit two homers and two doubles during his current four-game hitting streak, and he's driven in three runs while scoring four times during that span. The recent upswing in power is a welcome sign for Pena's fantasy managers after he went deep just five times across his first 80 contests of the campaign.

  • Paul DeJong SS | NYY

White Sox's Paul DeJong: Smacks two-run homer

DeJong went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run during Thursday's 8-4 loss to the Guardians.

DeJong took Ben Lively yard in the sixth inning, bringing Gavin Sheets around to score. DeJong is up to 16 home runs on the year and owns a .219 ISO, his best tally since 2017. The veteran shortstop is 9-for-35 (.257) with a pair of homers, six RBI and five runs scored over his last nine games.

  • Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Impresses in loss

Henderson went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run and a double in Thursday's 7-3 loss to the Mariners.

Henderson opened the scoring with his third-inning blast, which was his first homer in seven games. The shortstop remains excellent atop the Orioles' order, having gone 15-for-41 (.366) over his last 10 contests. On the year, he's up to 27 homers, 60 RBI, 75 runs scored, 13 stolen bases and a .289/.382/.605 slash line through 86 games.

  • J.P. Crawford SS | SEA

Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Three RBI in win

Crawford went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Thursday's 7-3 win over the Orioles.

Crawford ripped a bases-loaded double to put the Mariners ahead in the seventh inning, then scored on a Mitch Garver home run. Prior to Thursday, Crawford had gone 2-for-20 with two walks and a steal over his previous five games. The shortstop is at a .212/.307/.355 slash line with seven home runs, 28 RBI, 34 runs scored and five steals across 64 games this season, mainly serving as the Mariners' leadoff hitter.

  • Zachary Neto SS | LAA

Angels' Zach Neto: Logs steal in loss

Neto went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Thursday's 5-0 loss to the Athletics.

Neto has collected three steals over his last nine games despite going a poor 6-for-32 (.188) in that span. The shortstop is up to 12 steals on 18 attempts this season. He's added a .247/.297/.427 slash line with 11 home runs, 38 RBI and 33 runs scored over 84 contests. While he offers decent power and speed, he'll need to make more consistent contact to be reliable in the majority of fantasy formats.

  • Brayan Rocchio SS | CLE

Guardians' Brayan Rocchio: Homers in Wednesday's loss

Rocchio went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 8-2 loss to the White Sox.

Rocchio has been decent lately, batting .267 with a pair of extra-base hits over his last 11 games. The shortstop is up to three homers this season, all of which have been in his last 21 contests. He still has a lackluster .218/.313/.315 slash line overall, but he's been trending in the right direction as gets more major-league experience. Rocchio has added 16 RBI, 34 runs scored and seven stolen bases through 73 games.

  • Bo Bichette SS | NYM

Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Scratched from lineup

Bichette was scratched from the Blue Jays' lineup for Thursday's game against the Astros due to a right forearm contusion, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Bichette was hit by a pitch in the area during Wednesday's contest and felt some residual soreness while working out pregame Thursday. Consider him day-to-day. Leo Jimenez will slide over to shortstop and Spencer Horwitz will enter the lineup at second base.

  • Anthony Volpe SS | NYY

Yankees' Anthony Volpe: Demoted to sixth in batting order

Volpe will start at shortstop and bat sixth in Thursday's game against the Reds.

It's the first time since April 9 that Volpe has hit anywhere other than leadoff. After a productive first two months of the season, Volpe has slashed just .211/.228/.301 with a 33:3 K:BB over 136 plate appearances since June 1. Ben Rice will get a shot in the leadoff spot Thursday.
