  • Bo Bichette SS | NYM

Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Dealing with calf issue

Bichette is absent from Saturday's lineup against the Guardians as a result of right calf soreness, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Bichette has been playing through the calf issue for a few games, so the team decided to give him a day off Saturday. Manager John Schneider said the team will keep an eye on how the shortstop is feeling ahead of Sunday's series finale with Cleveland before making a decision on when he'll be back in the lineup.

  • Dylan Moore 2B | TEX

Mariners' Dylan Moore: Records 10th steal Friday

Moore went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in a win over the Rangers on Friday.

One night after striking out four times in his return from paternity leave, Moore made contact in all four plate appearances and followed his one hit with his 10th steal of the season. The veteran's swipe locked in his fifth double-digit tally in that category across six big-league seasons, but the knock was only his fifth across 38 plate appearances in June.

Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Day off Saturday

Bichette is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's contest against the Guardians, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Bichette will get a rare breather Saturday, taking a seat after he went 3-for-18 with an RBI and a run scored over the last five games. Isiah Kiner-Falefa will slide over to shortstop while Addison Barger enters the lineup at third base and bats seventh versus Cleveland.

  • Anthony Volpe SS | NYY

Yankees' Anthony Volpe: Swipes two bags in win

Volpe went 1-for-5 with a run and two stolen bases Friday in an 8-1 victory versus the Red Sox.

Volpe made the most of his fifth-inning single, as he proceeded to steal both second and third base before coming home on an Alex Verdugo double. The second-year shortstop is up to 15 thefts (on 18 attempts) this season, tied for 13th in the league. Volpe's power is down in comparison to his rookie campaign, but he's reduced his strikeout rate from 27.8 percent to 21.3 percent, which has helped produce a much-improved .271/.329/.414 slash line.

  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Rangers' Corey Seager: Lifted for pinch runner

Seager returned to the lineup and went 0-for-3 with a walk in Friday's 3-2 loss to Seattle.

Seager was back in the lineup as the DH after being scratched Thursday due to ongoing issues with his hamstring. The one time he did reach base Friday -- a two-out, eighth-inning walk -- he was lifted for a pinch runner. That likely means manager Bruce Bochy didn't want Seager to risk aggravating his injury while trying to score a tying run, so the manager went with the speedier Travis Jankowski. For Seager, the walk extended his on-base streak to 30 games (.415 OBP).

  • Zachary Neto SS | LAA

Angels' Zach Neto: Goes deep in win

Neto went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 8-6 win over the Giants.

The shortstop has three homers and 10 RBI over 12 contests in June, going 10-for-43 (.233) this month. Neto may not be making consistent contact, but the increased power is a positive nonetheless. He's maintained a .250/.298/.435 slash line with nine homers, 28 RBI, 26 runs scored, eight stolen base and 16 doubles through 67 contests this season.

  • Jose Caballero 2B | NYY

Rays' Jose Caballero: Exits with illness

Caballero was removed from Friday's game against Atlanta due to an illness, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Richie Palacios replaced the 27-year-old infielder at second base during the third inning. Caballero is slashing .241/.333/.483 across 33 plate appearances since the beginning of June and will continue to rest as he fights off his sickness.

  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Rangers' Corey Seager: Returning to lineup

Seager (hamstring) is serving as the Rangers' designated hitter and batting second Friday against the Mariners.

Seager was dealing with tightness in his hamstring while warming up for Thursday's game, and he was scratched from the lineup as a precaution after having missed four games earlier in the week due to hamstring problems. The issue has now subsided ahead of Friday's contest, and he will look to remain hot at the plate after going 8-for-21 with a homer and four RBI in six games since the beginning of June.

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Tigers' Javier Baez: Receives injection for back

Baez received an injection to treat lumbar spine inflammation Friday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Baez was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday due to his back injury. He will be re-evaluated early next week before potentially resuming baseball activities. Prior to landing on the IL, the 31-year-old shortstop was slashing .183/.209/.247 with nine doubles, one home run and 25 RBI over 196 plate appearances.

  • Orioles' Jackson Holliday: To Triple-A IL with elbow injury

Holliday was placed on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Norfolk on Friday with right elbow inflammation, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

It's not clear how long the top prospect might be sidelined. While he's still been drawing plenty of walks in June, Holliday has scuffled a bit overall this month, slashing .212/.422/.394. He sports a .252/.418/.429 line with five homers in 40 games for Norfolk since being demoted. A return to the big leagues had not seemed imminent for Holliday, but the injury will rule out the possibility for a while.
