The Athletics sent Hernaiz to Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday to begin a rehab assignment, Jason Burke of SI.com reports.

Hernaiz didn't play Friday in Las Vegas' 4-2 loss to Salt Lake, but he should join the Triple-A lineup at some point later this weekend to kick off what will likely be an extended rehab assignment. The 22-year-old infielder has been on the injured list since May 8 with a significant left ankle sprain.

Witt went 3-for-3 with a home run, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Friday's win over the White Sox.

Witt picked up where he left off after a terrific first half by belting a solo homer in the first inning. He later knocked an RBI single in the third and scored another run during the Royals' five-run fifth. Witt has been unstoppable over the last few weeks; in 13 games since June 30, he's slashing .471/.482/.863 with nine extra-base hits. For the season, Witt owns a .944 OPS with 65 RBI, 22 steals and 17 home runs through 429 plate appearances.

Neto went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 13-3 loss to the Athletics.

Neto was hot entering the All-Star break and kept it up following the pause. He's gone 11-for-23 (.478) with five extra-base hits over his last seven contests. The shortstop continues to be one of the better hitters on the Angels' roster with a .257/.307/.446 slash line, 13 homers, 43 RBI, 39 runs scored and 14 stolen bases through 94 contests.

Schuemann went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, four total RBI and three runs scored in Friday's 13-3 win over the Angels.

Schuemann got the start at third base rather than shortstop, but he was quickly moved back to his most common position after Jacob Wilson suffered a hamstring strain early in the game. It appeared Wilson's promotion from Triple-A Las Vegas would have a ripple effect on the Athletics' infield, but if the injury lands him on the IL, Schuemann would figure to once again have a clear path to an everyday role at shortstop. For the season, Schuemann is slashing .255/.345/.373 with six home runs, eight doubles, 24 RBI, 39 runs scored and nine stolen bases over 75 contests, though he's been sharper lately, hitting .390 (16-for-41) in July.

Henderson went 4-for-5 with three runs scored in Friday's win over the Rangers.

Henderson smacked four singles and has just one extra-base knock over his last seven appearances. The 23-year-old turned in his first multi-hit effort since July 7 and is now 18-for-56 (.321) this month. On the year, Henderson's slash line is up .293/.378/.586 with 81 runs scored through 96 contests.

Wilson exited Friday's game against the Angels in the fourth inning due to a left hamstring strain, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports. He recorded a base hit in his lone at-bat and scored a run before departing.

Wilson's MLB debut was cut short after he suffered the injury while rounding third base in the third inning. He was pulled from the contest after testing out his hamstring in the field ahead of the top of the fourth. The Athletics could send Wilson in for further evaluation before deciding whether to place him on the injured list, in which case Max Schuemann would likely settle back in as Oakland's everyday shortstop.

Wilson was removed from Friday's game against the Angels with an apparent injury, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Wilson hit a single during his first career MLB at-bat in the third inning, but he came up limping after coming around to score and was replaced on defense once the A's took the field. The nature of Wilson's injury remains unknown, but Oakland will provide more information once its training staff takes a closer look at him.

Volpe went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI in Friday's 6-1 win versus Tampa Bay.

The New York shortstop cracked a bases-clearing double in the third inning to extend the Yankees' lead to 4-0. This performance marks Volpe's third three-RBI game of the season. Perhaps this game's success will spur the 23-year-old on to a better second half, as he entered the evening hitting a miserable .143 (12-for-84) with eight runs scored and five RBI over his previous 20 games.

Bichette left Friday's game against the Tigers due to a right calf strain.

Bichette wasn't able to put any weight on his right leg after lining out to right field in the sixth inning, and he's now officially been diagnosed with a strained right calf -- the same injury that caused him to miss the last four games before the All-Star break. The Blue Jays didn't place him on the IL after his initial strain, but there's a good chance he spends some time on the injured list this time around in order to properly address the issue. Leo Jimenez will presumably take over as Toronto's starting shortstop while Bichette recovers.

Bichette was removed from Friday's game versus Detroit with an apparent leg injury, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Bichette was hopping to first base as he lined out to right field during the sixth inning, and he was reluctant to put any weight on his right leg. The 26-year-old shortstop missed the final four games of the first half due to a strained right calf, and the Blue Jays' trainers will take a look at him to determine if his latest injury is related.
