Red Sox's David Hamilton: Dealing with side issue
Hamilton (side) exited Monday's contest against Toronto due to left side discomfort in the fourth inning, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.
Hamilton was removed from the game in bottom of the fourth inning after striking out for a second time in the top of the frame. The shortstop may have tweaked something in his side in his final at-bat of the day. Romy Gonzalez and Ceddanne Rafaela could see more work at shortstop if Hamilton has to miss time.

Red Sox's David Hamilton: Exits early versus Toronto
Hamilton (undisclosed) was removed from Monday's contest with the Blue Jays in the bottom of the fourth inning, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.
Hamilton struck out swinging in the top of the fourth inning, exiting the game prior to taking the field in the bottom of the frame. The 26-year-old will finish his day 0-for-2 with two punchouts and an update on his status will likely be provided before the conclusion of Monday's contest. In the meantime, Romy Gonzalez shifted over to shortstop while Enmanuel Valdez entered the lineup at second base.

Jacob Wilson SS | ATH
Athletics' Jacob Wilson: Begins rehab assignment
Wilson (knee) is starting a rehab assignment with the Athletics' rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate Monday, Melissa Lockard of The Athletic reports.
Wilson has been shelved for more than a month with knee tendinitis but is finally ready for game action. The top prospect will eventually return to Triple-A Las Vegas when the Athletics feel he's ready. Wilson has slashed an unbelievable .438/.458/.652 with three home runs and two steals in 28 games between Double-A Midland and Las Vegas in 2024.

Bo Bichette 3B | NYM
Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Could be available off bench Monday
Blue Jays manager John Schneider said that Bichette (calf) could be available off the bench for Monday's game against the Red Sox, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Bichette is out of the lineup for the third consecutive game while he works his way back from a right calf injury, but Schneider suggested that the shortstop is trending in the right direction and is scheduled to do "more hitting, baserunning, agility stuff" during a pregame workout. If Bichette responds well to those activities, the Blue Jays could call on him to make a pinch-hitting appearance in Monday's contest. Even if the Blue Jays opt to stay away from Bichette for another day, he would still seem likely to avoid a trip to the injured list and could be back in the lineup as soon as Tuesday.

Romy Gonzalez 2B | BOS
Red Sox's Romy Gonzalez: Activated, included in lineup
The Red Sox activated Gonzalez (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Monday.
Gonzalez has missed most of June with a hamstring issue but was cleared to rejoin the Red Sox following a brief rehab assignment. He'll check back into the starting nine at second base and as the No. 6 hitter in Monday's series opener as the Blue Jays send lefty Yusei Kikuchi to the mound. Gonzalez is expected to fill the short side of a platoon at the keystone with Enmanuel Valdez.

Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Held out again Monday
Bichette (calf) remains out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox.
Bichette will miss out on a third straight start as he battles a right calf injury. He had reported improvement with his condition Sunday, so Bichette should have a good chance at avoiding a stint on the injured list. In Bichette's continued absence Monday, Isiah Kiner-Falefa will start at shortstop again.

Ryan Bliss SS | SEA
Mariners' Ryan Bliss: Logs steal as pinch runner
Bliss entered Sunday's win over the Rangers as a pinch runner in the eighth inning, recording a stolen base and scoring a run without logging an official plate appearance.
The rookie worked himself into scoring position with his steal of second base and then was driven home with the Mariners' fourth run by Dominic Canzone's single. The cameo marked Bliss's first appearance on the basepaths since last Monday, as he'd failed to reach in any of the nine plate appearances he'd logged over the previous four games.

Brayan Rocchio SS | CLE
Guardians' Brayan Rocchio: Pops homer Sunday
Rocchio went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, a hit-by-pitch and a second run scored in Sunday's 7-6 loss to the Blue Jays.
Rocchio's ninth-inning blast got the Guardians within a run, but their comeback effort ended there. He's gone a modest 5-for-22 with two homers and two doubles over his last eight contests. First-year manager Stephen Vogt has stuck with Rocchio as his starting shortstop despite a .213/.315/.306 slash line through 61 contests, and it appears that faith is starting to be rewarded. The 23-year-old has two homers, 13 RBI, 32 runs scored and seven stolen bases.

Gunnar Henderson 3B | BAL
Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Clubs homer in win
Henderson went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's 8-3 win over the Phillies.
Henderson worked a nine-pitch at-bat to lead off the first inning, and it ended with him taking Zack Wheeler deep. It was Henderson's lone hit in the game, but it was enough to extend his hitting streak to 10 contests, a span in which he's gone 14-for-43 (.326) with three long balls. The star shortstop is up to 22 homers, 49 RBI, 56 runs scored, nine stolen bases and a .274/.370/.588 slash line through 70 games in his breakout campaign.
