Reyes (abdomen) was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.
Reyes will head to the injured list following an early departure Thursday with what is now understood to be an abdominal strain. David Hamilton is starting at shortstop Friday, and he could split time with Enrique Hernandez while Reyes is on the shelf.

Red Sox's Pablo Reyes: Out of lineup Friday
Reyes (undisclosed) is not in the starting lineup Friday against the White Sox, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
Reyes was removed from Thursday's series finale with Minnesota early and he will now miss at least one contest while nursing whatever injury he sustained. It's possible that the 29-year-old reaggravated the abdominal issue that forced him to miss Tuesday and Wednesday's games. David Hamilton will draw the start at shortstop and bat ninth in the series opener with Chicago.

Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Remains unavailable Friday
Crawford (shoulder) is not in the starting lineup Friday against the Orioles, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.
Crawford will miss a third straight game as he continues to nurse an injured right shoulder following a collision during Tuesday's game with the Yankees. Jose Caballero will slide over to shortstop while Kolten Wong enters the lineup at second base and bats seventh versus Baltimore.

Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Back in lineup
Bichette (thumb) is starting Friday against Oakland.
Bichette was scratched from Wednesday's lineup due to thumb soreness, but he's ready to go after an extra day of rest Thursday. The 25-year-old shortstop is currently on an eight-game hitting streak and is slashing .313/.333/.469 with three RBI in that span.

Tigers' Johan Camargo: Gets minors deal from Tigers
Camargo signed a minor-league contract with the Tigers on Friday.
Camargo was let go by the Royals on Thursday and will now attempt to get back to the majors with a new organization. The 29-year-old infielder has impressed in a small sample in the minors this season, slashing .298/.412/.544 through 68 plate appearances.

Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Trending in right direction
Crawford (shoulder) was able to partake in some pregame drills Thursday, and manager Scott Servais says he's optimistic the veteran will return to the lineup at some point during this weekend's series against the Orioles, the Associated Press reports.
Servais confirmed the shortstop was feeling better despite missing his second straight game Thursday following a collision with the Yankees' Harrison Bader on Tuesday. Crawford appears to have a fighting chance of jumping back into action as early as Friday.

Red Sox's Mikey Romero: Begins rehab assignment
Romero (back) will begin his rehab assignment in the Florida Complex League on Friday, Chris Hatfield of SoxProspects.com reports.
He missed the first 10 weeks of the season with a muscular issue in his lower back, but Romero is batting second and starting at shortstop for the FCL Red Sox on Friday. After a few games, Romero will likely be activated for Single-A Salem.

Red Sox's David Hamilton: Logs first MLB hit
Hamilton went 1-for-3 in Thursday's 6-0 loss to Minnesota.
Hamilton made his first MLB start and logged his first career hit in the eighth inning. Pablo Reyes, who had been dealing with abdominal soreness, started at second base but was removed in the fourth inning, suggesting he's still not 100 percent. If Reyes needs time on the injured list, the speedy Hamilton could remain with the Red Sox and get additional starts at shortstop.
