  • Ezequiel Duran SS | TEX

Rangers' Ezequiel Duran: Hits three-run homer

Duran went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Friday's victory over Detroit.

Duran knocked in Leody Taveras and Mark Mathias on a second-inning shot to put Texas up 4-0. It was his fourth home run of the year and his second this month. Duran has essentially taken over third base, with a .251 batting average since his call-up in June and a .264 average this month.

  • Carlos Correa SS | HOU

Twins' Carlos Correa: Hits 15th home run

Correa went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and an additional run scored in a 9-0 win over the Giants on Friday.

Correa went deep in the first inning with a two-run shot off Alex Wood. It was part of a Twins offensive outburst that chased Wood from the game after only three innings. Correa's homer was his 15th of the season and his second in August. He hasn't shown much power lately, and is slugging a mere .380 in 79 at-bats this August.

  • Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Drives in three runs

Bogaerts went 2-for-5 with a three-run homer and two runs scored in Friday's 9-8 win over the Rays.

Bogaerts scored a run in the fifth inning before ripping a three-run shot in the sixth. After a 14-game homerless drought, he's gone deep twice in his last four appearances. Bogaerts improved his season slash line to .301/.372/.448 with 69 runs scored and 43 extra-base hits through 119 games.

  • Trevor Story SS | BOS

Red Sox's Trevor Story: Likely to return Saturday

Story (wrist) will likely be reinstated from the 10-day injured list Saturday, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

Story concluded a brief two-game rehab assignment Thursday, and he went 3-for-5 with a homer, a double, three runs and three RBI during his time with Double-A Portland. He was evaluated by Boston's medical staff Friday and will likely be able to rejoin the lineup for Saturday's matchup against Tampa Bay.

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Tigers' Javier Baez: Returns to lineup

Baez (back) will bat third and start at shortstop Friday against the Rangers.

Baez was a late scratch Wednesday due to back spasms, but the problem has evidently dissipated following Thursday's scheduled off day. He'll try to pull himself out of a slump which has seen him slash .220/.258/.305 over his last 15 games.

  • Bo Bichette 3B | NYM

Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Double and steal in win

Bichette went 2-for-4 with one double, two RBI and one steal in Thursday's extra-inning victory over the Red Sox.

The shortstop tallied a two-run double off righty Kutter Crawford to give the Blue Jays a 2-0 lead. Bichette has hit well in his last four games, going 7-for-17 (.412) with two doubles. He has a .744 OPS in 445 plate appearances this season facing righties and only a .616 OPS in 84 PAs against southpaws.

  • Trevor Story SS | BOS

Red Sox's Trevor Story: Three-hit night on rehab

Story (wrist) went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run, two RBI and a second run scored for Double-A Portland on Thursday.

Story was a triple shy of the cycle in his second rehab game for the Sea Dogs. He started at second base and played seven innings in the field, and he has yet to play nine innings. Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Story will return to Boston on Friday for evaluation, per Christopher Smith of MassLive.com, but he will not be activated then.

  • Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Back in action Thursday

Bogaerts (back) is starting at shortstop and batting cleanup Thursday against the Blue Jays, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Bogaerts exited Tuesday's game against Toronto with mid-back spasms and was held out of the lineup Wednesday, but he'll return to the field for Thursday's series finale. The 29-year-old has struggled offensively through 17 games in August with a .209/.239/.343 slash line.

  • Rays' Wander Franco: Rehab to wait until next week

Rays manager Kevin Cash said Thursday that Franco (wrist) won't resume his rehab assignment at Triple-A Durham until next week at the soonest, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Though Franco no longer seems to be experiencing discomfort in his surgically repaired right wrist after taking swings and fielding grounders Tuesday before advancing to a full workout Wednesday, the Rays seem content to take things slowly with the star 21-year-old. Assuming he makes it through the weekend without any setbacks, Franco could resume action at Durham as soon as next Tuesday. Since Franco played in only one rehab game before being pulled off the assignment last week, the Rays may want to see him play a handful of games in Durham before bringing him back from the 10-day injured list.

  • Trevor Story SS | BOS

Red Sox's Trevor Story: Begins rehab assignment

Story (wrist) started at second base and went 1-for-1 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored for Double-A Portland on Wednesday.

Story kicked off a rehab assignment by playing four innings in the field before being replaced. The exact plan for Story has not been divulged, but the Red Sox likely want to see him play a full game in the field and maybe on back-to-back days before returning him to Boston.
