Tim Anderson 2B | LAA
White Sox's Tim Anderson: Appealing three-game suspension
Anderson was handed a three-game suspension for making contact with an umpire during Monday's game against the Tigers. He is appealing the ban and remains in the lineup Wednesday versus the Reds, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.
Anderson can continue to play until the appeal is heard and decided upon, so he's still starting at shortstop and batting leadoff Wednesday. The suspension apparently won't have an impact on the playoffs, so there's no concern about the ban carrying over from the regular season. The 28-year-old may end up serving the suspension in 2022 if the appeal isn't heard ahead of the final game of the regular season Sunday.

Adalberto Mondesi SS | BOS
Royals' Adalberto Mondesi: Idle Wednesday
Mondesi is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Cleveland.
He'll get a routine maintenance day while Hanser Alberto checks in for him at third base. Over 21 games since returning from the injured list Sept. 1, Mondesi is slashing a meager .187/.237/.307, but he's worthy of a roster spot in every league thanks to a 13-for-13 success rate on stolen-base attempts.

Joey Wendle 2B | ATL
Rays' Joey Wendle: On bench Tuesday
Wendle will not start Tuesday's game against Houston, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Wendle hits the bench after starting nine of the last 10 games. Yandy Diaz starts at third base, with Brandon Lowe and Wander Franco starting in the middle infield spots.

J.P. Crawford SS | SEA
Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Crosses home three times in win
Crawford went 3-for-5 with an RBI and three runs Monday in the Mariners' 13-4 win over the Athletics.
The shortstop had been stuck in a rut offensively for the first month and a half following the All-Star break, but the Mariners' faith in Crawford as their primary leadoff man never seemed to waver. The decision to stick with Crawford atop the lineup has paid dividends in September, with the 26-year-old responding with a .311/.368/.466 slash line through his first 24 games on the month. The Mariners will hope for a big finish from Crawford and the rest of their everyday lineup while the team looks to chase down two of the Yankees, Red Sox and Blue Jays for one of the two available American League wild-card spots.

Adalberto Mondesi SS | BOS
Royals' Adalberto Mondesi: Notches steal in loss
Mondesi went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Monday's 8-3 loss to Cleveland.
While it was Mondesi's first theft in his last five games, the infielder has now recorded 13 stolen bases in September. He's 14-for-15 on the basepaths this year while adding a .252/.292/.495 slash line across 116 plate appearances in an injury-riddled season, although a move to third base and regular rest has kept him in good shape recently.

Tim Anderson 2B | LAA
White Sox's Tim Anderson: Resting Monday
Anderson is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Tigers.
Since activating Anderson from the 10-day injured list Sept. 14, the White Sox have been managing his workload carefully coming off a hamstring issue. He'll sit Monday for the fourth time in 13 games, and another off day or two could be in store for Anderson over the final week of the regular season with Chicago essentially locked in as the American League's No. 3 seed in the playoffs.

Wander Franco SS | TB
Rays' Wander Franco: Knocks two extra-base hits
Franco went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple and two runs scored in Sunday's 3-2 win over Miami.
Franco is up to 41 consecutive games reaching base as the superstar rookie continues to impress. He doubled and scored in the first inning before ripping a triple and scoring again in the fifth. He improved his season slash line to .287/.350/.476 with 29 extra-base hits through 280 plate appearances.

Carlos Correa SS | HOU
Astros' Carlos Correa: Sitting Sunday
Correa is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
It appears to be a regular day off for Correa, who's hitting .282 with two home runs and 10 RBI in his last 10 games. Aledmys Diaz plays shortstop and bats sixth Sunday.

Wander Franco SS | TB
Rays' Wander Franco: Normal usage starting Sunday
Franco is available off the bench Saturday and should see normal usage over the rest of the season, radio broadcaster Steve Carney reports.
He only got into one rehab game on his way back from a hamstring injury, so the Rays wanted to give him a breather Saturday. Manager Kevin Cash said Franco will start Sunday, and with an off day Monday, he shouldn't need any scheduled days off next week.
