Mateo went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Tuesday's 7-3 win over Kansas City.

The speedy infielder has been a solid addition to Baltimore's lineup since he was claimed off waivers in early August. Mateo has gone just 5-for-8 in stolen base attempts with his new team, but he's also posted a .292/.343/.448 slash line with a pair of home runs, eight RBI, eight runs scored, a triple and seven doubles. He's gotten on base in seven straight games and should continue to see a regular role in the middle infield.

Manager Tony La Russa said Tuesday that Anderson (hamstring) still doesn't have a timetable to return, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

Anderson has been on the 10-day IL since Aug. 29 due to a left hamstring strain, but he still hasn't returned to full health. A better timetable for the 28-year-old's return should come into focus once he's able to ramp up his activity level. Leury Garcia and Danny Mendick will continue to handle the duties at shortstop while Anderson is sidelined.

Smith isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Yankees.

Smith has gone hitless with a run, a walk and four strikeouts in his last 11 at-bats, and he'll be out of the lineup for the fourth time in the last six games. Jake Lamb will start at the hot corner and bat eighth.

Correa went 2-for-4 with a double, two walks and two runs scored in Monday's 11-2 win over the Mariners.

Correa walked twice in the same inning as the Astros batted around the order while scoring six runs in the second. The 26-year-old later doubled and notched a base hit to keep up his hot production at the plate. Correa has at least one hit in 16 of his last 19 games and is slashing .324/.422/.577 with four homers, 11 RBI, 16 runs scored and 12:10 BB:K over that span.

Franco went 4-for-6 with a triple and three runs scored in Monday's 11-10 win over Boston.

Franco extended his on-base streak to 36 games with his first-inning triple and came around to score three times in the afternoon victory. He's gone 8-for-16 (.500) with five runs scored in the last three games and owns a .336 batting average during his on-base streak. The rookie infielder is up to 48 runs and 26 extra-base hits with an .824 OPS through 261 plate appearances.

Mondesi didn't get the start Monday but stole two bases after pinch running for Hunter Dozier in the ninth inning of a 3-2 win over the Orioles.

After Dozier drew a one-out walk, Mondesi replaced him at first base and tried to generate an insurance run with his legs, but Whit Merrifield and Nicky Lopez weren't able to bring him around once he got into scoring position. Mondesi now has six steals in four games since rejoining the Royals' roster at the beginning of the month in addition to going 4-for-13 at the plate with a homer, three RBI and four runs. The 26-year-old may not play every day as Kansas City tries to keep him healthy, but playing time could be the only thing holding him back in September.

The Mariners promoted Marte from Low-A Modesto to High-A Everett on Monday.

The top prospect in the lower levels of the Seattle system, Marte was handed the promotion after slashing .271/.368/.462 with 17 home runs, 23 stolen bases and a 22.2 percent strikeout rate over 478 plate appearances at Low-A. He'll likely finish the season at Everett and begin the 2022 campaign with the affiliate, but a hot September could put him in position for a quick call-up to Arkansas at some point next spring.

Velazquez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Blue Jays.

Velazquez is on the bench for the third time in four games, and his time as a near-everyday player in the Yankees infield has seemingly come to an end after Gleyber Torres (thumb) returned from the injured list Friday. Look for Velazquez, Tyler Wade and Rougned Odor to all serve as utility options moving forward with Anthony Rizzo, DJ LeMahieu, Torres and Gio Urshela typically composing New York's starting infield in most games.

Wendle is out of the lineup for Monday's game in Boston, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

With southpaw Chris Sale on the bump for Boston, three of the Rays' lefty-hitting regulars in Wendle, Brandon Lowe and Kevin Kiermaier will head to the bench. Yandy Diaz moves across the diamond to fill in for Wendle at third base.

Mondesi is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reports.

Kansas City is facing a quick turnaround for its Labor Day series opener in Baltimore, which begins at 1:05 p.m. ET. As a result, Mondesi will take a seat after he started at third base while going 1-for-4 with a run and two stolen bases in Sunday's 6-0 win over the White Sox. Since being activated from the 10-day injured list Sept. 1, Mondesi has started three times (twice at third base, once at designated hitter) in five games, going 4-for-13 with a home run, four stolen bases, four runs and three RBI.
