  • Rays' Wander Franco: Producing against White Sox arms

Franco went 3-for-9 with an RBI single, a run-scoring double and three runs in Friday's and Saturday's games against the White Sox.

The hot-hitting shortstop recorded an RBI infield single in Friday's extra-innings loss before coming through with a timely two-bagger in Saturday's win that plated Nelson Cruz with Tampa Bay's first run of the day. The productive pair of outings is par for the course for Franco in August, a month in which he's knocked in 14 runs over 17 games with the aid of seven extra-base hits (four doubles, three home runs).

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Gets breather Saturday

Anderson isn't starting Saturday's game against the Rays.

  • Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU

Astros' Aledmys Diaz: Racks up two hits Friday

Diaz went 2-for-5 with a double in Friday's 12-3 win over the Mariners.

Per usual, Diaz started at third base for the injured Alex Bregman (quadriceps), who remains away from the team. The injured third baseman resumed his minor-league rehab Friday for Triple-A Sugar Land, his first game action since Aug. 7. It's uncertain how many games or plate appearances are needed before Bregman rejoins the Astros, but this is the first sign that Diaz's regular appearance in the starting lineup will be coming to a close soon.

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Slugs 14th homer

Anderson went 3-for-6 with a home run, four runs scored and two RBI in Friday's 7-5 extra-innings win over the Rays.

The White Sox put runs on the board in four different frames during the 11-inning affair, and Anderson was a key figure each time, with his solo shot off JT Chargois in the ninth sending the game to extras. The shortstop has hit safely in 10 straight contests, slashing a dazzling .388/.388/.714 over that stretch with four of his 14 homers on the season in addition to 10 RBI and 12 runs.

Astros' Carlos Correa: Scores thrice in win

Correa went 2-for-3 with a triple, a walk, three runs scored and an RBI in Friday's 12-3 win over the Mariners.

Correa continued his scorching hot week with his fourth multi-hit effort over the last five games. He tripled in the first inning to get the Astros on the board and wound up crossing home three times before the fourth inning ended as the Astros wasted no time building up a 10-1 lead. The 26-year-old has found a lot of success against the Mariners this year, as he's slashing .317/.391/.463 with five extra-base hits, four RBI, 12 runs scored and 5:3 BB:K over 41 at-bats.
