David Fletcher 2B | ATL
Angels' David Fletcher: Tallies two more hits
Fletcher went 2-for-4 with a walk, a run and a stolen base in Thursday's 5-0 win over Texas.
Fletcher continues to put his slow start to the season in the rearview mirror, as his season average is now up to a robust .307. After hitting .358 in July, he has started August with two multi-hit efforts in his first five contests and is batting .316 over that stretch. As a nice bonus for fantasy managers who roster him, Fletcher has picked things up on the basepaths of late, swiping three bags over his past three games. His eight thefts on the season match his career high set in 2019.

Carlos Correa SS | HOU
Astros' Carlos Correa: Day off Thursday
Correa isn't starting Thursday's game against the Twins, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Correa will get a rare day off after he went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a strikeout in Wednesday's loss to the Dodgers. Robel Garcia will take his place at shortstop and bat eighth.

Jorge Mateo SS | ATL
Orioles' Jorge Mateo: Lands in Baltimore
Baltimore claimed Mateo off waivers from San Diego on Thursday.
Before San Diego designated him for assignment Tuesday, Mateo saw limited use as a utility man for the Padres, appearing in 57 games and logging a .207/.250/.322 slash line over 93 plate appearances. Over the final two months of the season, expect the Orioles to give the 26-year-old a look as their everyday second baseman, a position where Baltimore has struggled to get production since Freddy Galvis (quadriceps) landed on the injured list in late June before being traded to the Phillies. Pat Valaika, who had been serving as the Orioles' primary option at the keystone of late, was designated for assignment to create room on the 40-man and 26-man rosters for Mateo. Though he owns a lowly .545 OPS over a limited sample of MLB action, Mateo boasts high-end speed and could be a worthy target for fantasy managers in deeper leagues looking for a boost in stolen bases.

Jeremy Pena SS | HOU
Astros' Jeremy Pena: Won't play this season
Pena (wrist) is not expected to return to action this season, J.J. Cooper of Baseball America reports.
It initially seemed like Pena may only miss the first few months of the season after undergoing left wrist surgery in April, but for whatever reason, he won't play at all this season. Pena is a strong candidate to play in the Arizona Fall League to make up for lost time.

Noelvi Marte 3B | CIN
Mariners' Noelvi Marte: Huge game at Low-A
Marte went 4-for-5 with three home runs, a walk, nine RBI, two additional runs and one stolen base Tuesday in Low-A Modesto's 16-15 loss to Stockton.
There was no shortage of offensive fireworks from either team Tuesday, and no player shone brighter than Marte. On the heels of the massive performance, the 19-year-old shortstop pushed his slash line up to .277/.361/.482 over 349 plate appearances. Marte has met expectations and then some during his first season at a full-season affiliate, and a promotion to High-A Everett could be in the cards before the year is out.

David Fletcher 2B | ATL
Angels' David Fletcher: Swipes two bags
Fletcher went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases and a run in Tuesday's win over Texas.
Fletcher once again served as a catalyst for the offense out of the leadoff spot. He scored the Angels' first run in the third inning after singling, stealing second, reaching third on a wild pitch and dashing home on an infield single. The infielder had previously stolen a base in the first frame, and the two-theft game was his first of the campaign. Fletcher is just one steal away from tying his career-high mark of eight thefts, which he accomplished in 2019.

Tim Anderson 2B | LAA
White Sox's Tim Anderson: Slugs 10th homer
Anderson went 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored Tuesday against the Royals.
Anderson began his production with a two-run home run off Kris Bubic in the third inning. He then tacked on a third RBI with a run-scoring single in the seventh inning. Anderson now has 10 homers on the season, though this was his first in his last 12 starts. In that same span, he collected only eight hits across 47 at-bats. For the season, Anderson has a strong .301/.333/.443 line with 40 RBI, 66 runs scored and 16 stolen bases across 399 plate appearances.

J.P. Crawford SS | SEA
Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Busy at top of order
Crawford went 2-for-4 with a walk and two runs in a win over the Rays on Monday.
The hot-hitting shortstop continued his recent surge, producing his fourth multi-hit effort in the last seven games. Crawford owns a .323 average and .400 on-base percentage over that sample of 35 plate appearances while striking out at a modest 17.1 percent clip. He's been a short on impactful hits, however, counting a double as his only extra-base knock during that span.

Adalberto Mondesi SS | BOS
Royals' Adalberto Mondesi: Rehab assignment starting up
Mondesi (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday.
Sidelined since June 20 with a strained left oblique, Mondesi is finally ready to move on to the final phase of his recovery program by taking part in minor-league games. Since Mondesi has already spent time on the shelf with two other lower-half injuries this season (a strained right oblique and a strained left hamstring), the Royals could elect to take it slowly with his rehab assignment. According to Josh Vernier of 610 Sports Kansas City, general manager Dayton Moore hinted Monday that once he returns from the 10-day injured list, Mondesi could be subject to more frequent maintenance days as the Royals aim to preserve him from the long haul. Even if he plays only five or six times per week, Mondesi should remain one of the league's top stolen-base threats, assuming his injuries haven't compromised his speed or aggressiveness on the basepaths.

Orelvis Martinez 2B | WAS
Blue Jays' Orelvis Martinez: Bumped up to High-A
The Blue Jays promoted Martinez from Low-A Dunedin to High-A Vancouver on Tuesday, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports.
The 19-year-old outfielder has enjoyed a breakout campaign at Dunedin, hitting .279 with 19 home runs over 325 plate appearances. Martinez's 26.2 percent strikeout rate is somewhat worrisome, and he may need to cut that down (or at least not increase it) in order to remain productive against the more advanced pitching at High-A.
