  • Joey Wendle 2B | ATL

Rays' Joey Wendle: Sits against southpaw

Wendle will not start Tuesday against lefty Jordan Montgomery and the Yankees, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.

Wendle may be losing starts against southpaws, as he's now been on the bench against four of the last six the Rays have faced. Kevin Padlo will start at third base in his absence.

  • Carlos Correa SS | HOU

Astros' Carlos Correa: Returns amid slump

Correa went 1-for-5 with a run scored in Monday's 5-4 loss to the Angels.

Correa was back in the lineup following a day off Sunday, which was designed to give him a break amid a slump to start the month of May. After Monday's effort, which saw him leave three runners in scoring position, Correa is 2-for-32 this month with nine strikeouts and one walk. He's second on the team with average exit velocity of 91 mph, so there's some element of bad luck, but Correa's average launch angle has increased to 15.5. That's translated into fewer line drives and more fly balls.

  • J.P. Crawford SS | SEA

Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Pair of hits out of top order

Crawford went 2-for-5 with a run in a loss to the Rangers on Sunday.

Operating out of the leadoff spot for the first time all season, Crawford continued to wield a hot bat following a brief slump. The shortstop had just slugged his first home run two games ago as part of a 3-for-3 night that kicked off his current three-game hitting streak, and Sunday's multi-hit effort was his fourth in the last nine games overall.

  • David Fletcher 2B | ATL

Angels' David Fletcher: Collects two hits, one theft

Fletcher went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and a run in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Dodgers.

Hits were hard to come by for both teams in the contest, and Fletcher accounted for two of the Angels' six base knocks with a pair of singles. He scored a run in the third inning and stole his second base of the campaign in the eighth. During his current five-game hitting streak, Fletcher is batting .370 (10-for-27) to boost his overall season average to .280.

  • Willy Adames SS | SF

Rays' Willy Adames: Belts three-run homer

Adames went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Athletics.

Adames came up huge with a game-tying three-run shot in the fifth inning off Cole Irvin. Although the 25-year-old shortstop entered Sunday in a massive slump, the crucial homer might have earned him a spot in the lineup for the first game of Tuesday's homestand against the Yankees.

  • Bo Bichette 3B | NYM

Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Doubles in two runs

Bichette went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and two RBI in Sunday's 7-4 loss to Houston.

Down 7-0, the Blue Jays made a push with a four-run fifth inning that included Bichette's two-run double. He came around to score that inning on a Vladimir Guerrero base knock. The 23-year-old improved his season slash line to .267/.310/.496 with 15 extra-base hits and 20 RBI.

  • Carlos Correa SS | HOU

Astros' Carlos Correa: Heads to bench Sunday

Correa is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Manager Dusty Baker will extend Correa a day off while he's stuck in a 1-for-27 slump at the plate that has dropped his season average to .246. Robel Garcia steps in at shortstop for Correa in the series finale.

  • Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Mashes seventh homer

Bogaerts went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and a second run scored in Saturday's 11-6 win over the Orioles.

His sixth-inning blast off Tyler Wells capped the scoring for the Red Sox on the night. The shortstop is locked in at the plate, and over the last eight games Bogaerts has gone 14-for-33 (.424) with four of his seven homers on the season, adding eight RBI and 11 runs for good measure.

  • Royals' Adalberto Mondesi: Remains without timetable

Mondesi (oblique) still doesn't have a timetable to begin a rehab assignment, Lynn Worthy of The Kansas City Star reports.

Mondesi will travel to the Royals' team facility in Arizona on Saturday, and he should be able to ramp up his activity level while he's there. However, it's not yet clear when the shortstop could appear in live games as he continues to recover from a right oblique strain.

  • Willy Adames SS | SF

Rays' Willy Adames: Not starting Saturday

Adames isn't starting Saturday against the Athletics.

Adames has gone 3-for-14 with a run, a walk and nine strikeouts in his last four games. Joey Wendle will shift to shortstop while Yandy Diaz plays third base and Yoshi Tsutsugo starts at first base.
