Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU
Blue Jays' Aledmys Diaz: Takes seat in series finale
Diaz is out of the lineup Sunday against the Yankees.
Manager John Gibbons' decision to open up an everyday role in the middle infield for Lourdes Gurriel has proven detrimental to Diaz and Devon Travis, who have received more frequent benchings to accommodate the rookie. Diaz will sit for the second time in four games after hitting his eighth home run of the season Saturday in the Blue Jays' 8-5 loss.

Fletcher had been working into a fairly regular role, starting seven straight games heading into Friday's contest, but he'll now sit in favor of Luis Valbuena for the second straight game. Fletcher has a .294/.345/.373 line in 19 games this season.

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Returns to lineup
Anderson (forearm) will start at shortstop and bat eighth against the Astros on Saturday.

Dee Strange-Gordon SS | WAS
Mariners' Dee Gordon: Exits with injury
Gordon left Friday's game against the Rockies with an apparent back injury, David Gottlieb of MLB.com reports.
Gordon was removed from the tilt after getting gunned down on a play at the plate. He was spotted grabbing his back on his way off the field, per Gottlieb. If Gordon is unable to go Saturday, Andrew Romine figures to man second base.

Xander Bogaerts SS | SD
Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Hits 14th homer of season
Bogaerts went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, two runs and two walks in Boston's 10-5 win over Kansas City on Friday.
This was the second straight game with a homer for the young shortstop, bringing his slash line to .276/.345/.513 through 275 at-bats. His 14 long balls on the season are already past the 10 he hit last year, and the .513 slugging percentage would be a career high if he can keep it up. Bogaerts should continue to be a solid source of power and counting stats hitting in a loaded Red Sox lineup.
