  • Jacob Wilson SS | ATH

Athletics' Jacob Wilson: Resting up Sunday

Wilson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.

Wilson will get a breather for the series finale after he went 5-for-24 with a double, three runs and no RBI while starting in each of the past six games. Nick Allen will replace Wilson as the Athletics' starting shortstop.

  • Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Moves into utility role

Schneemann will start at third base and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Rays.

Though he'll enter the lineup Sunday while third baseman Jose Ramirez gets a day out of the infield and serves as the Guardians' designated hitter, Schneemann's time as a regular in the Cleveland lineup looks to be over. The left-handed-hitting Schneemann had started in just two of the Guardians' previous six games, with Cleveland facing only one lefty starter during that stretch.

  • Taylor Walls 3B | TB

Rays' Taylor Walls: Out of Sunday's lineup

Walls is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.

Walls started Friday and Saturday and will sit for Sunday's series finale after going 1-for-7 with three strikeouts. Jose Caballero is starting at shortstop and batting seventh.

  • Blue Jays' Leo Jimenez: Returns to lineup

Jimenez (finger) is starting at second base and batting seventh against St. Louis on Sunday.

Jiminez was set to return from a two-game absence due to a foot injury Saturday, but he was a late scratch due to a finger injury. He appears to be over both issues and will be in action for the series finale. Since Aug. 1, Jiminez is slashing .247/.381/.471 with four home runs, 14 RBI and a 30.5 percent strikeout rate across 105 plate appearances.

  • Jeremy Pena SS | HOU

Astros' Jeremy Pena: Two hits, stolen base in win

Pena went 2-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and a run scored in Saturday's win over the Angels.

Pena posted hits in two of his first three at-bats while also stealing second and coming around to score a run over that stretch. It marked the shortstop's second straight two-hit performance and the fifth in his last nine games. Over that span he's batting .282 (11-for-39) with one homer, three RBI and three runs scored. The stolen base was his 17th of the season and his second this month.

  • Carlos Correa SS | MIN

Twins' Carlos Correa: On bench Sunday

Correa is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

The veteran shortstop went 1-for-2 with a double Saturday in his return from a two-month absence due to plantar fasciitis, and he'll head to the bench Sunday for the early afternoon series finale. Correa didn't play in any rehab games prior to being reinstated from the injured list, so it won't be surprising if the Twins continue to get him regular rest days as he gets back up to speed.

  • Trevor Story SS | BOS

Red Sox's Trevor Story: Logs three hits in win

Story went 3-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Saturday's 7-1 win over the Yankees.

Story, who hit .167 over his first five games since returning from a shoulder injury, may be getting his timing down against MLB pitching. This was his second straight multi-hit effort, and he's gone 5-for-8 including a home run in that span.

  • Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Belts 37th home run

Henderson went 2-for-3 with a homer, two RBI, two runs and a stolen base in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Tigers.

Henderson went deep Saturday, his 37th home run, which tied Marcell Ozuna for the fifth most in MLB in the process. Henderson is on pace for 40 homers this season, which would make him the fifth shortstop in history with 40 or more in a season. Henderson also had a double against the Tigers, and he now has 72 extra-base hits this season, which is the fifth most by an Orioles shortstop in a single season in franchise history.

  • Bobby Witt SS | KC

Royals' Bobby Witt: Tops 100 RBI for first time

Witt went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, a home run and three RBI in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Pirates.

His first-inning solo shot off Mitch Keller gave Witt his first career 100-RBI campaign, but he didn't rest on his laurels. The 24-year-old has put together an MVP-caliber season, slashing .333/.385/.599 with 31 homers, 28 steals, 102 RBI and 121 runs -- aside from the stolen bases, all those numbers represent career highs for Witt.

  • Jacob Amaya SS | CHW

White Sox's Jacob Amaya: Out of Saturday's lineup

Amaya is not in Saturday's lineup against the Athletics.

Amaya has started 12 of the White Sox's last 13 games at shortstop since being recalled Aug. 30. He's hit .257 with two RBI and two runs scored in that span. Nicky Lopez will take over at shortstop in Amaya's place.
