Yankees' Jorge Mateo: Speed remains on display at High-A

Mateo, 22, is hitting .240/.288/.400 with four home runs, 11 RBI and 28 steals through 69 games for High-A Tampa.

Mateo's speed remains his biggest asset, but his on-base skills have been lacking this season. Mateo has drawn just 16 walks while struggling to make contact. He has fanned 79 times in those 69 games. His prospect luster has dimmed a bit over the last year or so, though he remains an intriguing prospect due to his blazing speed.

Twins' Ehire Adrianza: Could begin rehab assignment soon

Adrianza (abdomen) could head out on a rehab assignment in the coming days, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Adrianza underwent scans on his abdominal area Monday that apparently turned up nothing overly concerning, so the utility infielder is expected to gradually increase his activities before reporting to one of the Twins' minor-league affiliates for game action. The 27-year-old could rejoin the Twins in early July.

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Wearing corrective eyeglasses

Anderson wore corrective eyeglasses for the first time Monday and went 2-for-5 with a three-run opposite field home run in a 6-5 loss to the Yankees, Colleen Kane of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Anderson downplayed the use of eyeglasses but it was good to see some life in the shortstop's bat. He hadn't homered in the previous 22 games, a stretch in which he hit .235/.267/.306 with just seven RBI. The promise hinted at last season is nowhere to be found in 2017. Perhaps the goggles will give him a better view of the increased amount of sliders Anderson's been seeing this season and spur a turnaround.

  • Indians' Francisco Lindor: Piles up three RBI on Monday

Lindor went 2-for-5 with three RBI and a run during Monday's win over Texas.

The shortstop is turning in another solid fantasy campaign with 14 home runs, 36 RBI, 43 runs and a .253/.316/.473 slash line. Fantasy owners would love to see him improve on his three stolen bases going forward, and considering he's settled into the leadoff spot, reaching the double-digit mark for a third consecutive season should be within reach. Continue to view Lindor as a rock-solid option, especially if he can start lifting up that lagging batting average.

  • Rays' Taylor Featherston: Timely hitting in Sunday's loss

Featherston went 1-for-3 with two RBI from a run-scoring single and a sacrifice fly in Sunday's 8-5 loss to the Orioles.

Featherston has been productive in his last three starts, hitting safely in each and knocking in three runs overall. The 27-year-old continues to see occasional playing time in the infield, with Sunday's start having come as a result of Tim Beckham receiving the day off.

  • Ruben Tejada SS | BAL

Orioles' Ruben Tejada: Out of lineup again Sunday

Tejada is not in Sunday's lineup, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

There is no concern of any injury for Tejada, but Paul Janish will fill in at shortstop for the second straight game against the Rays. Tejada has been in the midst of a slump at the plate but should return to the lineup for Tuesday's contest following an off-day Monday.

  • Angels' Cliff Pennington: Doubles in start Friday

Pennington drew his second consecutive start at second base Friday, going 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in a loss to the Red Sox.

The veteran infielder got another start at the keystone after his three-hit game Thursday. Despite contributing to the box score, Pennington will move back to the bench Saturday in order to get Danny Espinosa back into the lineup. Both players have struggled mightily at the plate this season, so manager Mike Scioscia may choose to play matchups going forward.

  • Ruben Tejada SS | BAL

Orioles' Ruben Tejada: Gets breather Saturday

Tejada isn't in Saturday's lineup against the Rays, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

Tejada has struggled at the dish lately, collecting just one hit in 16 at-bats over his last eight games. He'll get a day to clear his head, while Paul Janish will take over at shortstop and bat ninth for the Orioles.

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Tossed after two at-bats Friday

Anderson went 0-for-2 before he was ejected from Friday's 3-0 loss to the Athletics for arguing an umpire's ruling.

Anderson chopped a ball at home plate that he thought was foul but was ruled fair and he was subsequently tagged out while standing still in the batter's box. His plea to home plate umpire Jim Wolf resulted in the first ejection of Anderson's career.

  • Ehire Adrianza 3B | LAA

Twins' Ehire Adrianza: Lands on disabled list

Adrianza (abdominal) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Thursday, Phil Miller of the Star Tribune reports.

The timing of Adrianza's injury is particularly unfortunate as he was coming off his best game of the season Wednesday in which he swiped three bags off the White Sox. He'll be on the shelf until at least early July, but the Twins have yet to give a timetable for his return. Minnesota is set to make a corresponding roster move Friday.
