As expected, Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford is again out of the lineup Wednesday night against the host Dodgers with a calf issue.
Bruce Bochy revealed Tuesday that he would be sidelined for at least a couple days.
Crawford is on a 2-for-23 slide. His .263 average is at its lowest point since July 20.

A hamstring pull sustained after hitting a two-run double in the seventh inning Tuesday night at Colorado knocked Diamondbacks third baseman Aaron Hill out the game, per MLB.com. Nick Ahmed replaced him at second base.
Hill was used as a pinch-hitter.

Bruce Bochy has announced that Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford will miss a couple days with a sore calf sustained on a hit-by-pitch, per CSN Bay Area.
Crawford just returned from an oblique injury.
He has just two hits in his last 23 at-bats. His slash line sits at .265/.324/.482.

Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford has returned to the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers. Crawford has not played since leaving Tuesday's game with an oblique injury.
But he's been given the green light to return on Monday. He'll be at shortstop and bat sixth in the series-opener against the division-rival Dodgers.

He is making progress however, as Crawford played catch Saturday for the first time since sustaining the injury on Tuesday. He is also expected to take some swings, though a clear timetable for his return to the lineup has not been revealed.

"It's not something you want to rush," Bruce Bochy told Associated Press.
Crawford was on a 2-for-19 skid before going down.
