  • Giants' Tyler Fitzgerald: Back with Giants

The Giants recalled Fitzgerald from Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

With Thairo Estrada (wrist) headed for the injured list, Fitzgerald will return to San Francisco in order to give the Giants some depth in the infield, though he is also capable of playing in the outfield. The 26-year-old has slashed .273/.333/.409 across 72 plate appearances in the majors and could share reps with Nick Ahmed until Estrada returns.

  • Masyn Winn SS | STL

Cardinals' Masyn Winn: Getting day off

Winn is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Reds, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Winn will step out of the starting nine for the first time since June 18, giving way to Brandon Crawford at shortstop Friday. Since the start of June, Winn is batting 25-for-97 (.258) with two homers and 16 runs.

  • Reds' Elly De La Cruz: Triples, swipes bag in win

De La Cruz went 3-for-5 with an RBI triple, a run scored and a stolen base in Thursday's win over St. Louis.

The star shortstop kicked things off for Cincinnati with an RBI triple in the first inning to score Jonathan India. De la Cruz would then add another two singles in the contest, giving him his fifth three-hit performance this month and third in his last six games. Over that latter stretch he's batting .464 (13-for-28) with two homers, four RBI and seven runs scored. He also swiped his league-leading 38th bag Thursday after failing to record a steal over his previous eight games.

  • Livan Soto SS | BAL

Reds' Livan Soto: Optioned to Louisville

The Reds optioned Soto to Triple-A Louisville on Thursday, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

With Noelvi Marte making his return from an 80-game suspension, Soto will be pushed back into the minors. He went 0-for-3 with a strikeout during his season debut Wednesday and owns a .767 OPS through 230 plate appearances in Triple-A. Should the Reds run into any more infield depth problems, there's a good chance Soto would be the one to get the call back Cincinnati.

  • Orlando Arcia SS | MIN

    Braves' Orlando Arcia: Returning Thursday

Arcia (head) will start at shortstop Thursday against the White Sox, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Arcia has been held out of action since being pulled from Monday's game due to dizziness. Now that the issue has subsided, he'll return to his role as Atlanta's shortstop and look to get back on track after going just 1-for-19 with seven strikeouts across his last six contests.

  • Brett Wisely 2B | ATL

Giants' Brett Wisely: Resting against lefty

Wisely is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Cubs, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The lefty-hitting Wisely will take a seat for the second time during the four-game series with the Cubs while Chicago sends another lefty (Shota Imanaga) to the hill. Nick Ahmed will fill in for Wisely at shortstop, while outfielder Austin Slater replaces Wisely atop the batting order.

  • Livan Soto SS | BAL

Reds' Livan Soto: Makes season debut

Soto served as the designated hitter and went 0-for-3 in Wednesday's 6-1 loss to the Pirates.

Soto made his first appearance for the Reds since being recalled from Triple-A Louisville on Sunday. With Noelvi Marte (suspension) expected to be reinstated Thursday, Soto could return to Louisville.

  • Orlando Arcia SS | MIN

Braves' Orlando Arcia: Sitting Game 2

Arcia (head) is out of the lineup for Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.

The 29-year-old exited Monday's contest due to dizziness and won't start the night game of Wednesday's twin bill. Luke Williams will start at shortstop in place of Arcia for the nightcap.

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

Marlins' Tim Anderson: Resting for day game

Anderson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.

The veteran shortstop will take a seat Wednesday while the Marlins wrap up their series in Kansas City with a day game after a night game. Vidal Brujan will step in as the Marlins' starting shortstop in Anderson's stead.

  • Orlando Arcia SS | MIN

Braves' Orlando Arcia: Out for Game 1 of twin bill

Arcia (head) is out of the lineup for the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Cardinals.

Before Tuesday's game was rained out, Atlanta manager Brian Snitker disclosed that Arcia still wasn't feeling well after exiting Monday's 4-3 loss due to dizziness. Snitker didn't entirely rule Arcia out for both games of the twin bill, but it wouldn't be surprising if Atlanta opted to give the veteran shortstop the full day off to recover. Zack Short will cover shortstop in Arcia's stead in the first game of the day.
