  • Miguel Rojas SS | LAD

Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Collects four hits Wednesday

Rojas went 4-for-5 with a double, a run and an RBI against the Mets in Wednesday's 10-3 victory.

Rojas started at shortstop before shifting over to third base late in the contest, and he produced his first four-hit game since last September. The veteran infielder has hit well while mostly filling a backup role this season, slashing .284/.333/.457 with two homers, nine RBI, 12 runs and two stolen bases over 87 plate appearances.

  • Luis Vazquez SS | BAL

Cubs' Luis Vazquez: Sent down to minors

The Mets optioned Vazquez to Triple-A Iowa on Thursday, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Vazquez's first stint in the majors lasted a little more than a week, but he received just one plate appearance and struck out. Pete Crow-Armstrong was called up from Iowa to take Vazquez's place on the active roster.

  • Jordan Lawlar SS | ARI

Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Begins rehab in ACL

Lawlar (thumb) started at shortstop and went 0-for-2 with a walk for the Diamondbacks' affiliate in the Arizona Complex League on Wednesday.

Lawlar began a rehab assignment Wednesday, playing five innings in the field. He's been working his way back from a ruptured UCL tendon in his right thumb, and his rehab recently involved at-bats at the team's training facility at Salt River Fields. The plan, as outlined by Arizona farm director Shaun Larkin to Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports, is for Lawlar to get in 2-to-3 weeks of game action before joining Triple-A Reno.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Rehab games scheduled

Perdomo (knee) will play in the Arizona Complex League this weekend before heading out on a rehab assignment early next week, Arizona Sports reports.

Perdomo suffered a right meniscus tear April 3 and had surgery. The report does not indicate which minor-league affiliate he'll be joining or give an estimated number of reps he'll need. Perdomo will return as the Diamondbacks' starting shortstop, which has been handled by Blaze Alexander and Kevin Newman while Perdomo has been unavailable.

  • Masyn Winn SS | STL

Cardinals' Masyn Winn: Racks up three hits in win

Winn went 3-for-4 with one RBI in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Reds.

Winn extended his hitting streak to 16 games with Wednesday's strong effort out of the No. 8 spot in the order. He's gone 23-for-61 (.377) with eight extra-base hits, 11 RBI and two stolen bases during the streak. Winn is up to a .308/.358/.440 slash line with two homers, seven steals, 18 RBI, 16 runs scored, 11 doubles and two triples over 49 contests this season. He's seen some looks at leadoff versus left-handed pitchers, but he remains deeper in the order for now against right-handers.

  • Willy Adames SS | SF

Brewers' Willy Adames: Launches homer in win

Adames went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk, three total RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 10-6 win over the Cubs.

Adames extended his hitting streak to eight games, a span in which he's gone 12-for-31 (.387) with two homers, five doubles and 10 RBI. The shortstop is up to a .255/.328/.454 slash line with nine long balls, 39 RBI, 30 runs scored and eight stolen bases through 55 contests this season. He's bounced back from his poor 2023 and is on pace to challenge for a 100-RBI campaign.

  • Marco Luciano SS | NYY

Giants' Marco Luciano: Leaves with hamstring tightness

Luciano was lifted from Wednesday's game against the Phillies in the bottom of third inning with right hamstring tightness, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. He reached base on a throwing error during his only plate appearance before exiting the contest.

Brett Wisely came off the bench to pinch hit for Luciano in the latter's second turn through the batting order. It's unclear whether Luciano first sustained the injury while he was playing shortstop in the top of the third or at some point earlier in the contest, but the Giants should provide more details on his condition after the game. Luciano has been working in the short side of a platoon with the lefty-hitting Wisely at shortstop lately while Nick Ahmed (wrist) is on the injured list.

  • Brett Wisely 2B | TB

Giants' Brett Wisely: Sitting against lefty

Wisely is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Though he'll retreat to the bench with southpaw Cristopher Sanchez on the hill for Philadelphia, the lefty-hitting Wisely looks to have captured the strong side of a platoon at shortstop with the right-handed-hitting Marco Luciano, who gets the starting nod Wednesday. Wisely started in five of the previous six games, going 9-for-17 with a home run, a stolen base, five RBI and three runs.

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

Marlins' Tim Anderson: Sitting out Wednesday

Anderson is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest in San Diego.

Anderson is just 5-for-24 in seven games since returning from the injured list, dragging his season line down to an unsightly .199/.235/.219. Vidal Brujan is at shortstop Wednesday and it wouldn't be a surprise if he begins to see more action at the position if Anderson's struggles continue.

  • Oneil Cruz SS | PIT

Pirates' Oneil Cruz: Sitting versus lefty

Cruz is absent from the lineup for the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader versus the Tigers.

Detroit is sending lefty ace Tarik Skubal to the hill in the first game of the doubleheader, so the left-handed-hitting Cruz will begin the contest on the bench. Cruz should be back in the lineup for second game, when the Tigers will start righty Keider Montero. Alika Williams is garnering the start at shortstop in the first tilt.
