Brujan looks set to vie with Emmanuel Rivera for playing time at the hot corner moving forward, though both could be headed for reserve roles soon with Jake Burger (oblique) having already initiated a rehab assignment and poised to return from the 10-day injured list in the near future.

Anderson missed two starts with a mild left thumb sprain, which he suffered during Monday's 7-2 loss to the Nationals. Rojas went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, a stolen base and a run scored in Wednesday's win over the Diamondbacks.

Lindor was feeling sick ahead of the third inning and was replaced at shortstop by Joey Wendle, who could be in line to start Thursday's series finale if Lindor isn't feeling better by then. The 30-year-old All-Star went 0-for-1 before leaving Wednesday's game and now carries a .195 average on the year.

Newman is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's outing versus the Dodgers.

The 30-year-old infielder will get a break with Blaze Alexander starting at shortstop Wednesday as the Diamondbacks finish out their series against Los Angeles. Newman has started at shortstop in six of Arizona's last 10 games and is slashing .157/.189/.314 on the season.

Adames went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs and four RBI in Wednesday's 7-1 win over the Rays.

Adames extended the Brewers' lead to 3-0 with a solo shot off Zach Eflin in the sixth inning before breaking the game open with a three-run blast off Erasmo Ramirez in the seventh. Adames now has three homers and eight RBI in his last two contests after going 16 games without a long ball. Overall, the 28-year-old shortstop is slashing .278/.373/.496 with six homers, 21 RBI, 18 runs scored and four steals through 30 games this season.

The 28-year-old shortstop boasts a .270/.369/.441 slash line through 130 plate appearances this season, though his performance was trending downward prior to his outburst Tuesday.

Winn isn't in the Cardinals' lineup for the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against Detroit, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Winn went 1-for-4 during St. Louis' Game 1 victory, and he'll get a breather to conclude Tuesday's twin bill. Brandon Crawford will fill in at shortstop and bat eighth during the nightcap.
