  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Trying to finish on up note

Perdomo went 1-for-3 in Tuesday's 4-0 loss to the Dodgers.

Perdomo collected one of the three singles Arizona batters managed to produce in a second consecutive shutout. The young shortstop endured a brutal August, batting .137, but Perdomo has been better in September. The 22-year-old rookie is 8-for-27 (.296) in 12 games this month.

  • Dansby Swanson SS | CHC

Braves' Dansby Swanson: Connects on 20th homer

Swanson went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and an additional RBI in a 5-1 win against the Giants on Tuesday.

Swanson gave Atlanta the lead with a two-run home run off San Francisco starter Jakob Junis in the third inning and added an RBI single in the ninth as an insurance run. After opening September quietly, the 28-year-old has gone 10-for-31 with three long balls over his last seven games. Swanson isn't on track to reach last season's mark of 27 homers, but he has a shot at his first 20-20 season with 20 home runs and 17 stolen bases in 142 games.

  • Tommy Edman 2B | LAD

Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Two steals in loss

Edman went 2-for-4 with an RBI, two stolen bases and a run scored in Tuesday's 8-4 loss to the Brewers.

Edman was the only Cardinal with a multi-hit effort in this contest, which was his fourth in his last five games. He's added three steals in that span and is now 29-for-32 on the basepaths this season, ranking fifth in the majors in steals. The versatile 27-year-old's hot hitting has his batting average up to .270, its highest point since July 3. He's added a .743 OPS, 13 home runs, 55 RBI, 90 runs scored, 29 doubles and four triples through 138 contests.

  • Willy Adames SS | SF

Brewers' Willy Adames: Gets aboard four times Tuesday

Adames went 2-for-3 with a double, two walks, two RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 8-4 win over the Cardinals.

Adames has multiple RBI in three straight games, and he's drawn at least one walk in each of those contests. It's the fourth time this year he's walked in three consecutive games. The shortstop's hot bat of late has lifted his season slash line to .234/.298/.463 with 28 home runs, 85 RBI, 75 runs scored, five stolen bases and 26 doubles through 120 contests overall.

  • Joey Wendle 2B | ATL

Marlins' Joey Wendle: Steps out of lineup

Wendle is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Phillies, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Wendle has an .848 OPS with one home run, four doubles, four RBI and four runs through 11 games in September and will head to the bench Tuesday with southpaw Bailey Falter pitching for Philadelphia. Prospect Jordan Groshans was called up for his MLB debut and will start at the hot corner.

  • Jon Berti 3B | CHC

Marlins' Jon Berti: Not in Tuesday's lineup

Berti is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Phillies, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Berti started the past six games and will head to the bench after he went 5-for-24 with a double, three RBI, five runs and two stolen bases during that span. Charles Leblanc will step in at the keystone for Miami.

  • Vaughn Grissom 2B | LAA

Braves' Vaughn Grissom: Out of lineup Tuesday

Grissom isn't starting in Tuesday's game against San Francisco.

Grissom will sit Tuesday after batting .304 over the past week. He was involved in a collision in right field with teammate Robbie Grossman on Sunday, per Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. While Grissom stayed in the game, it's possible he's dealing with some lingering effects. In his place, Ehire Adrianza will get the nod at second and bat ninth in the Atlanta order.

  • Jose Barrero SS | BAL

Reds' Jose Barrero: Bows out for Game 2

Barrero is not in the lineup for Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Pirates.

Barrero has not sat much since the start of September, but he will head to bench for the second time in four games. Matt Reynolds will start at shortstop in Tuesday's nightcap.

  • Jon Berti 3B | CHC

Marlins' Jon Berti: Starts running again

Berti went 1-for-4 with a walk, three runs scored, two RBI and two stolen bases in the second game of Monday's doubleheader against the Rangers.

The 32-year-old hadn't stolen a base since returning from a minor hip issue at the beginning of September, and he hadn't swiped multiple bags in a game since July 1, but Berti appears to be back in top form on the basepaths. Despite playing in only 83 games this season around various injuries, he still leads the majors with 34 steals, four ahead of the Baltimore duo of Cedric Mullins and Jorge Mateo.

  • Pirates' Tucupita Marcano: Optioned to Triple-A

Marcano was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday.

Marcano played regularly for most of August, but he started just three of the Pirates' first 10 games in September amid an extended slump at the plate, and he ultimately lost out on a spot on the big-league roster. With three weeks to go, there is a chance Marcano could be recalled before the campaign comes to a close.
