Elly De La Cruz SS | CIN
Reds' Elly De La Cruz: Big day in Wednesday's win
De La Cruz went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, two additional runs scored and two stolen bases in Wednesday's 9-4 win over Atlanta.
After singling and swiping his 50th bag of the season in the first inning, De La Cruz took Allan Winans deep in the third for his 18th long ball. The 22-year-old shortstop did commit two more errors in wet conditions, giving him 20 on the year, but that's about the only blemish on his season so far. In addition to leading the majors with 51 steals, De La Cruz has an 11-game hit streak going in which he's batting .378 (17-for-45) with five doubles, a triple and three homers.

Trea Turner SS | PHI
Phillies' Trea Turner: Homers, swipes bag
Turner went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a stolen base in Wednesday's loss to the Twins.
Turner got to work early in this one, swiping his 13th base of the season in the top of the first inning before taking David Festa deep in the fifth to tie the game. The hamstring injury that cost Turner six weeks earlier this season appears to have sapped his stolen base production -- the 31-year-old has just three steals since returning June 17. Even so, the shortstop has been on a tear in the month of July, batting .356 with 10 home runs, 22 RBI, 18 runs scored and three stolen bases in 18 games.

Miguel Rojas SS | LAD
Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Lands on injured list
The Dodgers placed Rojas on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with right forearm tightness.
Manager Dave Roberts said Wednesday that Rojas is dealing with a flexor strain, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, so the team will shut him down from throwing for "a while." The newly signed Nick Ahmed will see the majority of the starts at shortstop while Rojas is sidelined.

Nick Ahmed SS | SD
Dodgers' Nick Ahmed: Signs with Dodgers
Ahmed signed a major-league contract with the Dodgers on Wednesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Ahmed was released by the Giants on July 10 but will now find work in the Dodgers' infield as Miguel Rojas (forearm) heads to the IL. Ahmed slashed just .232/.278/.303 through 172 plate appearances during his time in San Francisco, though he will still see the majority of reps at shortstop while Rojas is out.

Tyler Fitzgerald SS | SF
Giants' Tyler Fitzgerald: Homers in fifth straight game
Fitzgerald went 3-for-3 with a solo homer and two RBI in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Dodgers.
Fitzgerald kept his home run magic going with a solo blast to left in the second inning, and he later drove in a second run in the ninth with a single. He's now homered in five straight games, becoming the first Giants rookie to accomplish such a feat and becoming the first Giant to do it since Barry Bonds homered in seven straight in 2004. Over this stretch, Fitzgerald's slashing .571/.667/1.714 with seven RBI, six runs and a 4:4 BB:K in 18 plate appearances. He should continue to find himself in the lineup while his bat his scorching hot.

Dansby Swanson SS | CHC
Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Nabs seventh steal
Swanson went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in Tuesday's 1-0 loss to the Brewers.
Swanson stole second after leading off the ninth inning with a single, but the Cubs couldn't bring him home. The shortstop has logged back-to-back multi-hit games against Milwaukee after going 1-for-9 with three walks over three contests versus Arizona coming out of the All-Star break. Swanson has struggled to a .217/.289/.347 slash line with nine home runs, seven steals, 31 RBI, 37 runs scored, 13 doubles and a triple over 92 games this season.

Miguel Rojas SS | LAD
Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Remains out of lineup
Rojas (forearm) isn't in the Dodgers' lineup Tuesday versus the Giants.
Rojas remains day-to-day as expected Tuesday due to tightness in his right forearm. The shortstop missed the opening game of the series against the Giants on Monday, but it's believed he'll have a chance to return Wednesday. Enrique Hernandez draws the start at shortstop and is batting ninth Tuesday.

Ezequiel Tovar SS | COL
Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Knocks game-winning hit
Tovar went 3-for-7 with an RBI and a run scored in Monday's extra-innings win over Boston.
Tovar singled and scored during Colorado's four-run third inning and he later delivered a walk-off single in the 12th. He's collected multiple hits in seven of his last eight games, including six in a row. During that eight-game span, Tovar owns a 1.330 OPS with eight extra-base knocks. His season slash line is up to .280/.307/.476 with 46 extra-base hits and 47 RBI through 98 games.

Tyler Fitzgerald SS | SF
Giants' Tyler Fitzgerald: Stays hot in loss
Fitzgerald went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Monday's 3-2 loss to the Dodgers.
Fitzgerald now has a homer in each of his last four games, and he's started three in a row. He was in the lineup over Thairo Estrada -- who is hitting .103 over eight games in July -- versus a right-hander for the second game in a row, though it's unclear if this is a real shift in the infield hierarchy or just manager Bob Melvin riding the hot hand. Fitzgerald is up to a .299/.365/.552 slash line with five homers, 11 RBI, 17 runs scored and seven stolen bases through 96 plate appearances.
