  • Trea Turner SS | PHI

Dodgers' Trea Turner: Knocks three hits Friday

Turner went 3-for-5 with a double in Friday's 2-1 extra-inning loss to the Guardians.

Turner got the nod atop the lineup with Mookie Betts (bruised rib) out of the lineup. The table-setting role worked well for Turner, who extended his hitting streak to 10 games with his fourth three-hit effort of the year. During the hot streak, the shortstop has gone 14-for-40 (.350). He's up to a .304/.357/.478 slash line with eight home runs, 13 stolen bases, 47 RBI, 32 runs scored, 15 doubles and two triples through 272 plate appearances overall.

  • Pirates' Tucupita Marcano: Lands on COVID-19 injured list

Marcano was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Friday, Rob Biertempfel of The Athletic reports.

It's unclear whether Marcano has tested positive for the virus or if he's on the injured list for other reasons, so it's difficult to predict when he'll return. Liover Peguero was recalled to take his place on the roster.

  • Joey Wendle 2B | ATL

Marlins' Joey Wendle: Advances to live BP

Wendle (hamstring) will hit live batting practice Saturday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

He started a running program earlier this week so it seems like Wendle could be nearing a rehab assignment. Once healthy, it will be interesting to see how the Marlins make room for Wendle, given that Jon Berti has fared well as his replacement.

  • Phillies' Johan Camargo: Begins rehab assignment

Camargo (knee) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday.

Camargo has been shut down since June 7 due to a right knee strain but will return to game action with the Triple-A club. The 28-year-old is unlikely to require a lengthy rehab assignment prior to rejoining the Phillies.

  • Vaughn Grissom 2B | LAA

Braves' Vaughn Grissom: Back-to-back slams for Rome

Grissom went 4-for-7 with a double, two home runs, five runs scored and eight RBI for High-A Rome on Thursday in a 22-1 rout of Asheville.

The 21-year-old hit grand slams in consecutive innings as he powered the Rome offense to a huge win. Grissom has at least three hits in three straight games and has hit safely in 11 of 13 contests in June, posting a blistering .377/.431/.604 slash line with three homers, three steals, 13 RBI and 13 runs on the month while maintaining an excellent 13.8 percent strikeout rate. It may not be long before Atlanta's No. 2 fantasy prospect gets a promotion to Double-A.

  • Trea Turner SS | PHI

Dodgers' Trea Turner: Socks eighth homer

Turner went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and two total runs in Wednesday's win against the Angels.

Turner accounted for the Dodgers' final run of the game with his third-inning solo shot off Reid Detmers. The long ball was his eighth of the season and extended his hitting streak to nine games. Over the nine-game stretch, Turner is slashing .314/.368/.571 with three homers, five RBI, seven runs and three stolen bases. The star shortstop had a 26-game hitting streak snapped less than two weeks ago.

  • Orlando Arcia SS | MIN

Braves' Orlando Arcia: Belts third homer

Arcia went 4-for-4 with a walk, a home run and two RBI in Wednesday's 8-2 win over the Nationals.

Making his second straight start at the keystone in place of Ozzie Albies (foot), Arcia homered as part of a multi-hit performance for the second straight day, giving him three long balls on the season in 19 contests. The infielder won't keep up that pace, but the last time he held down a regular role in the majors in 2020, the 27-year-old slashed .260/.317/.416 over 59 games for the Brewers with five home runs and 20 RBI.

  • Miguel Rojas SS | LAD

Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Clubs fifth homer

Rojas went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Phillies.

His fifth-inning blast off Kyle Gibson looked like it might be the only offense on the afternoon, until Tanner Scott felt apart in the ninth. Rojas could be building a little momentum at the plate, going 5-for-14 over the last four games with two doubles plus Wednesday's homer, but on the season the veteran shortstop is slashing a sluggish .223/.286/.352 with five long balls, two steals, 16 RBI and 18 runs through 53 contests.

  • Jon Berti 3B | CHC

Marlins' Jon Berti: Swipes two more bags

Berti went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Phillies.

The veteran utility player simply can't be stopped on the basepaths right now. Berti is up to 14 steals on the season, tying him for fourth in the majors with Harrison Bader, but 10 of them have come in June without a caught stealing. Berti has been more than a one-trick pony during his hot streak, slashing .308/.379/.365 on the month with six RBI and nine runs, and while he's been holding down the starting job at third base with Joey Wendle (hamstring) and Brian Anderson (back) currently sidelined, Berti should see regular playing time around the diamond even when the Miami roster is healthy as long as he keeps producing.

  • C.J. Abrams SS | WAS

Padres' CJ Abrams: On fire in minors

Abrams is on a seven-game hitting streak with Triple-A El Paso, slashing .429/.429/.657 with two homers, seven RBI and four stolen bases over that span.

The prized prospect was particularly impressive during a three-game stretch between June 11-14, going 11-for-16 with two homers, six RBI and three thefts. After opening the campaign in the majors with the Padres, Abrams has had some ups-and-downs in the minors, including an early nine-game stretch during which he went 4-for-42 at the plate. However, his overall stat line with El Paso -- he's slashing .310/.360/.500 with six long balls, 27 RBI, 32 runs and nine steals in 27 games -- leaves little doubt about his immense talent. It would be surprising if Abrams didn't return to the Padres at some point this season.
