Edman went 2-for-3 with a walk, two stolen bases, one run and one RBI in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Brewers. He'll remain in the lineup Wednesday, starting at second base and batting leadoff, according to Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat.

After bagging 17 steals in 576 plate appearances through his first two seasons in the big leagues, Edman has increased his aggressiveness on the bases in Year 3, much to the delight of fantasy managers. After adding another two steals to the ledger Tuesday, Edman is now 27-for-32 on stolen-base attempts in 2021. His total ties him for fifth place in the majors entering play Wednesday, leaving him behind only Starling Marte, Whit Merrifield, Trea Turner and Cedric Mullins in the category.

Reyes was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.

Reyes had limited playing time during his time with the major-league club and started just four games after he was called up Aug. 24. He should see more consistent at-bats in Nashville, while his demotion makes room on the active roster for Brett Anderson (shoulder), who was reinstated from the 10-day injured list.

Adames isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.

Adames was back in the lineup in each of the last two games, and he went 0-for-6 with an RBI, a walk and two strikeouts. Luis Urias will start at shortstop and bat sixth.

Atlanta recalled Arcia from Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday.

Atlanta had been getting by with Ehire Adrianza as its lone utility player since Arcia was optioned to Triple-A over the weekend, but the latter's return to the active roster will give manager Brian Snitker another option off the bench. Unless Atlanta loses one of Austin Riley or Dansby Swanson over the final week and a half of the season, however, Arcia is unlikely to pick up regular starts while the team looks to secure the National League East crown.

Ahmed's recent absence from the starting lineup is due to a sore right shoulder.

Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said the issue is "very typical for this time of the year," while acknowledging Ahmed has been available if needed. Josh Rojas and Ildemaro Vargas have filled in at shortstop while Ahmed gets time off.

Ahmed is once again out of the lineup Tuesday versus the Braves.

The 31-year-old is absent from the lineup for the fourth consecutive game, while still having no mention of injury. Ildemaro Vargas makes the start at shortstop and will bat eighth.

Rojas (knee) is starting Tuesday's game against the Nationals.

Rojas was held out of the lineup the last two games due to a left knee contusion, but he went 0-for-1 with an RBI on Monday. He'll start at shortstop and lead off.

Luciano finished the regular season at High-A Eugene by hitting .217/.283/.295 with one home run across 36 games.

He struck out in a disturbing 37.2 percent of his plate appearances following his promotion from Low-A, where he turned in much better numbers -- a .278/.373/.556 line with 18 homers, five steals, 57 RBI and 52 runs (as well as a far more palatable 22.1 percent strikeout rate) across 70 contests. Although he certainly didn't look good in High-A, it's worth noting that Luciano just turned 20 years old this month and is still considered one of the most tooled-up prospects in the minors. There's no reason to panic about his long-term outlook, but the pressure will be on Luciano next season to turn in a far better performance when he (presumably) repeats the High-A level.

Ahmed isn't in the starting lineup for Monday's game against Atlanta.

Ahmed hasn't seen the field since Sept. 17, but there's been no word of an injury. Josh Rojas draws the start at shortstop, allowing Ildemaro Vargas to get an opportunity at the hot corner.

Adames (quadriceps) was activated from the 10-day injured list Monday.

The 26-year-old participated in pregame workouts over the weekend, which proved to be the final hurdle before being cleared to return from the injured list. Adames should reclaim the starting role at shortstop after missing the past two-plus weeks, but he could also receive more regular off days over the final two weeks of the season to help manage his return since the Milwaukee's playoff seeding is relatively secure.
