  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Dodgers' Corey Seager: Bows out of starting nine

Seager isn't starting Tuesday's game against the Braves.

Seager is 4-for-18 at the dish through the first five games of May, and he'll get the day off Tuesday against a lefty (Max Fried). Chris Taylor will get the start at shortstop and hit fifth.

  • Marlins' Rosell Herrera: Gets another day off

Herrera is out of Tuesday's lineup against the Cubs, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Herrera started three straight contests prior to Sunday, but he'll now head to the bench for the third consecutive matchup. Isaac Galloway draws another start in center field and will bat eighth.

  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Dodgers' Corey Seager: Scores twice, drives in run

Seager went 1-for-3 with a single, a walk, an RBI and two runs scored in a victory over the Braves on Monday.

Seager got the Dodgers on the board with a run-scoring groundout in the first and crossed the plate for the team's final run in the fifth. He has shown signs of emerging from a prolonged slump by going 4-for-12 in his last three games. This follows a seven-game stretch in which he managed only one hit in 26 at-bats.

  • Orlando Arcia SS | MIN

Brewers' Orlando Arcia: Tallies three more hits

Arcia went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a run in Monday's victory over the Nationals.

Arcia has not done much in the power department over the last couple weeks, but he is now hitting .280 (28-for-100) with a .767 OPS over his last 30 games, which has been more than enough to keep him and his stellar defense in the lineup on an everyday basis.

  • Jon Berti 3B | CHC

Marlins' Jon Berti: Knocks first MLB homer

Berti went 1-for-2 with a solo homer, two runs scored and two walks in Monday's 6-5 win over the Cubs.

Berti's sixth-inning homer was the first of his short MLB career and knotted the game up at 3-3. On the year, he's 8-for-33 but has scored eight runs and driven in three.

  • Marlins' Rosell Herrera: Remains on bench

Herrera sits for the second straight contest Monday against the Cubs, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Herrera seemed to be claiming the starting center field role after starting three straight games from Wednesday to Saturday, but he's now been on the bench for two straight. Isaac Galloway starts again Monday.

  • Paul DeJong SS | DET

Cardinals' Paul DeJong: Homers, collects three hits

DeJong went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer, two runs scored and a walk in Sunday's 13-5 loss to the Cubs.

DeJong drilled a two-run homer to make it 13-4 in the ninth inning, but obviously it was a futile effort. The 25-year-old connected for his first homer since April 23, giving him six on the year alongside a .992 OPS in 149 plate appearances.

  • Giants' Brandon Crawford: Crushes go-ahead shot

Crawford hit a two-run, pinch-hit homer in the ninth inning of Sunday's 6-5 win over the Reds.

Crawford got the day off but still made an impact, picking a great time to hit his first homer of 2019. Still, he owns an ugly .211 average with five RBI and 32 strikeouts on the year.

  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Dodgers' Corey Seager: Cranks pair of doubles

Seager went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, a walk and a run in the Dodgers' 8-5 defeat to the Padres on Sunday.

The shortstop has been slumping of late, but he reached base three times in this contest, lacing a pair of two-baggers to give him 10 doubles on the season. He's still hitting just .232 through 125 at-bats, but hopefully this performance is a sign Seager is primed for a hot streak that will start to pump his average back toward his career mark of .295.

  • Giants' Brandon Crawford: Gets breather

Crawford will sit Sunday against Cincinnati.

Crawford heads to the bench for just the third time all season. Yangervis Solarte gets the call at shortstop.
