  • Braves' Johan Camargo: Out of Wednesday's lineup

Camargo is out of Wednesday's lineup against the Mets.

He has continued to surprise in his rookie season, and is hitting .315/.339/.444 with one home run and just seven strikeouts in 54 at-bats this month. Rio Ruiz will start at the hot corner and hit fifth. Camargo and Ruiz will likely enter spring training competing to be the starting third baseman in 2018, unless the Braves look for an upgrade outside the organization.

Cubs' Javier Baez: Back in Wednesday's lineup

Baez (knee) is in the lineup against the Cardinals on Wednesday.

Baez was held out of Tuesday's starting lineup with a bruised knee, but was able to come into the game as a pinch hitter during the loss. He appears to be fairly healthy for the time being, but could wind up getting some rest as soon as the Cubs clinch the division title. For Wednesday's affair, Baez will bat sixth and man the keystone.

Cubs' Javier Baez: Pinch hits Tuesday

Baez (knee) struck out in a pinch-hitting appearance in Tuesday's loss to the Cardinals.

Baez was held out of the starting lineup due to a knee bruise he suffered in Monday's game, but it appears the injury is not overly serious if he was able to play a day later. Expect the young infielder to log a start as soon as Wednesday.

  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Dodgers' Corey Seager: Drives in four Tuesday

Seager went 2-for-4 with a walk, a home run and four RBI in Tuesday's 9-2 win over the Padres.

The blast was his 21st of the year but only his second in September, and Seager is limping into the postseason with a .191/.263/.309 slash line over the final month as he's battled through elbow and ankle issues. Don't be surprised if he gets some extra rest between now and the beginning of the playoffs, now that the Dodgers have locked up the best record in the NL.

  • Giants' Brandon Crawford: Day off Tuesday

Crawford is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks, according to Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area.

Crawford is just 3-for-15 in his career against Tuesday's opposing starter, Robbie Ray, so he will get a day off following a string of 10 straight starts. Kelby Tomlinson will start at shortstop in Crawford's place.

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Cubs' Javier Baez: Held out of Tuesday's lineup

Baez (knee) is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cardinals.

The knee injury Baez suffered Monday is not believed to be serious, but with the Cubs just one win away from winning the NL Central and Baez owning a 4-for-24 (.167) track record against Tuesday's opposing starter, Carlos Martinez, manager Joe Maddon decided to give him Tuesday off. Fellow shortstop Addison Russell is also getting a break, so Mike Freeman will get the start at shortstop for the Cubs.

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Cubs' Javier Baez: Diagnosed with knee bruise

Baez was diagnosed with a bruised knee after fouling a pitch off himself during Monday's win over the Cardinals, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports. "I thought [the injury] was really bad," Baez said. "I only felt my knee. Afterwards, it was a big bruise and sore. It was like jumping into a cold tub, and my whole leg was freezing."

Fortunately for the Cubs, it appears the young infielder was able to avoid a significant setback, which didn't seem to be the case initially after he was on the ground for about two minutes after his foul ball struck his knee in the eighth inning. Baez was able to stay in the game and resume his at-bat, reaching base on a single before the Cubs pulled him from the contest. Baez could still be a little banged up entering Tuesday's contest, but it seems as though he'll have a good chance to play if he experiences no overwhelming pain while running prior to the game.

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Cubs' Javier Baez: Knee fine despite foul ball

Baez fouled a ball off his knee that forced him to leave Monday's game, but he could be back in Tuesday's lineup, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports.

Baez was able to stay in the game after fouling the ball off his leg, but was removed after singling. If he isn't back Tuesday, expect him back at some point during this current four-game series with St. Louis.

Cubs' Javier Baez: Removed with apparent injury

Baez was removed with an undisclosed injury after a single in Monday's game against the Cardinals, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports.

Baez immediately motioned for the trainer after the base hit and was able to walk off the field under his own power. The nature and severity of the injury are currently unclear, so consider him day-to-day until the Cubs can get a good look at him.

  • J.P. Crawford SS | SEA

Phillies' J.P. Crawford: Not starting Monday

Crawford is out of the lineup Monday against the Nationals.

Since being called up to the big leagues Sept. 5, Crawford has started 18 of Philadelphia's 22 games. In that time, he's slashed .232/.362/.339 while spending time at second base and shortstop, but mostly the hot corner. Coming off Sunday's 0-for-3 effort, in which he struck out twice, Crawford will get the night off and give way to Maikel Franco at third base.
