Orlando Arcia SS | MIN
Braves' Orlando Arcia: Rehab assignment begins Saturday
Arcia (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday.
Arcia has been on the injured list since Aug. 10, and the club has been targeting a September return. The 28-year-old's rehab assignment should be the final step in his recovery process, but he'll likely need to appear in several minor-league games prior to rejoining the big-league club. If he feels good following his rehab games, he'll likely be in the mix to return from the injured list sometime next week.

Joey Wendle 2B | ATL
Marlins' Joey Wendle: Drives in three Friday
Wendle went 2-for-5 with a double, a run scored and three RBI in Friday's extra-inning loss to the Dodgers.
The utility infielder had gone 10 straight games without an RBI heading into Friday, but Wendle broke out with a two-run double in the sixth inning and an RBI single in the seventh. The 32-year-old is having a tough August in general, slashing .179/.210/.244 over 22 games with a 2:15 BB:K, zero homers, three steals, three runs scored and six RBI.

Ezequiel Duran SS | TEX
Rangers' Ezequiel Duran: Hits three-run homer
Duran went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Friday's victory over Detroit.
Duran knocked in Leody Taveras and Mark Mathias on a second-inning shot to put Texas up 4-0. It was his fourth home run of the year and his second this month. Duran has essentially taken over third base, with a .251 batting average since his call-up in June and a .264 average this month.

Carlos Correa SS | HOU
Twins' Carlos Correa: Hits 15th home run
Correa went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and an additional run scored in a 9-0 win over the Giants on Friday.
Correa went deep in the first inning with a two-run shot off Alex Wood. It was part of a Twins offensive outburst that chased Wood from the game after only three innings. Correa's homer was his 15th of the season and his second in August. He hasn't shown much power lately, and is slugging a mere .380 in 79 at-bats this August.

Xander Bogaerts SS | SD
Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Drives in three runs
Bogaerts went 2-for-5 with a three-run homer and two runs scored in Friday's 9-8 win over the Rays.
Bogaerts scored a run in the fifth inning before ripping a three-run shot in the sixth. After a 14-game homerless drought, he's gone deep twice in his last four appearances. Bogaerts improved his season slash line to .301/.372/.448 with 69 runs scored and 43 extra-base hits through 119 games.

Trevor Story SS | BOS
Red Sox's Trevor Story: Likely to return Saturday
Story (wrist) will likely be reinstated from the 10-day injured list Saturday, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.
Story concluded a brief two-game rehab assignment Thursday, and he went 3-for-5 with a homer, a double, three runs and three RBI during his time with Double-A Portland. He was evaluated by Boston's medical staff Friday and will likely be able to rejoin the lineup for Saturday's matchup against Tampa Bay.

Tucupita Marcano 2B | SD
Pirates' Tucupita Marcano: Absent from Friday's lineup
Marcano isn't starting Friday against the Phillies.
Marcano will get a day off after going 3-for-18 with two doubles, three RBI, a run, a walk and three strikeouts in his last five games. Greg Allen will start in left field while Rodolfo Castro handles second base.
-
Pablo Reyes RF | SD
Brewers' Pablo Reyes: Sent to minors
Reyes was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Friday.
Reyes was recalled to provide extra depth Tuesday and got into a pair of games off the bench, going 0-for-1 with a hit by pitch. Jace Peterson (elbow) returned from the injured list to fill that utility role Friday, so Reyes will head back to the minors.
-
Paul DeJong SS | DET
Cardinals' Paul DeJong: Sitting Friday
DeJong will be on the bench Friday against Atlanta, John Denton of MLB.com reports.
DeJong appeared to have figured things out in the minors following his early May demotion, and he returned in late July to post an 1.108 OPS in his first 13 games back. He's fallen off a cliff since then, grabbing just two hits in his last 12 games while striking out 19 times. Tommy Edman will start at shortstop Friday for the third time in four games.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Tigers' Javier Baez: Returns to lineup
Baez (back) will bat third and start at shortstop Friday against the Rangers.
Baez was a late scratch Wednesday due to back spasms, but the problem has evidently dissipated following Thursday's scheduled off day. He'll try to pull himself out of a slump which has seen him slash .220/.258/.305 over his last 15 games.
