  • Rays' Wander Franco: Tallies hit in return

Franco went 1-for-5 Sunday against the Pirates.

Franco returned from nearly a month-long absence caused by a quadriceps issue. His lone hit came in the third inning on an infield single, though it was encouraging that he was able to get down the line without a problem. Franco had failed to homer in 110 at-bats prior to going down with the injury, but it's possible he'll pick up his power pace now that he's presumably back to full health.

  • Trea Turner SS | PHI

Dodgers' Trea Turner: Provides insurance run

Turner went 1-for-6 with a run, an RBI and a stolen base in Sunday's extra-innings victory versus Atlanta.

Turner went hitless in his first five at-bats, but he opened the 10th inning on second base as the designated runner and scored on Freddie Freeman's double. In the following frame, Turner came up with a two-out single that padded Los Angeles' lead to two runs, helping the team secure the win. Turner hasn't disappointed in his first full season with the Dodgers, posting a .317/.365/.496 slash line, 10 homers, 53 RBI, 40 runs and 15 thefts. He and Julio Rodriguez are the only players in the majors with at least 15 steals and at least 10 long balls.

  • Jeremy Pena SS | HOU

Astros' Jeremy Pena: Doubles in return

Pena went 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored Sunday against the Yankees.

Pena was activated from the injured list Sunday after recovering from a thumb injury. He struck out in his other three at-bats but managed a two-out double in the fourth inning prior to coming around to score. Pena should be locked into the starting shortstop role for the Astros, and he will look to build upon his impressive .277/.332/.472 line across 214 plate appearances.

  • Bobby Witt SS | KC

Royals' Bobby Witt: Swipes bag in loss

Witt went 0-for-1 with three walks, a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Athletics.

This was the first three-walk game of Witt's career, and the third time in five games he's gotten on base multiple times. The shortstop has hit .264 with an .844 OPS in June, lifting his season numbers to a .242 batting average and .759 OPS through 287 plate appearances. He's added 11 home runs, 11 stolen bases, 37 RBI, 40 runs scored, 16 doubles and five triples. Witt's walking at a 6.0 percent rate -- that's a bit lower than the 9.3 percent clip he posted across Double-A and Triple-A in 2021, but it's power over patience that makes the 22-year-old an increasingly reliable option in fantasy.

  • Pablo Reyes RF | SD

Brewers' Pablo Reyes: Sent back to Triple-A

The Brewers optioned Reyes to Triple-A Nashville on Monday.

Reyes' demotion likely sets the stage for the Brewers to activate right-hander Brandon Woodruff (hand) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Tuesday at Tampa Bay. The 28-year-old utility man was up with Milwaukee for just one day and didn't appear off the bench in Sunday's win over the Blue Jays.

  • Josh H. Smith 2B | TEX

Rangers' Josh H. Smith: On base twice as leadoff batter

Smith went 0-for-3 with two walks as the leadoff hitter in Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Nationals.

Smith batted leadoff for the first time since being added to the major-league roster at the end of May. He missed some time due to injury and has played just 10 games with 33 plate appearances since then, so his .485 on-base percentage comes from a small sample size. As a member of Triple-A Round Rock, Smith reached base at .370 clip over 208 plate appearances.

  • Willy Adames SS | SF

Brewers' Willy Adames: Productive day at plate

Adames went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI single and two runs scored in Sunday's victory over the Blue Jays.

Adames sent Jonathan Davis home on a single in the second inning, then came around to score later in the inning on a Rowdy Tellez homer. Adames later reached home on a Luis Urias sac fly. The shortstop has a hit in back-to-back games and in eight of his last 10 games. Adames improved his batting average to .216 after the three-hit performance.

  • Nick Allen SS | HOU

Athletics' Nick Allen: Two RBI in win

Allen went 1-for-4 with two RBI in Sunday's victory over the Royals.

Allen picked up both of his RBI on a late single, sending Chad Pinder and Cristian Pache to the plate. The shortstop has played in four games since June 21 and has a hit in three of them while only striking out once during that span. Allen may be earning himself some more playing time as he is slashing .273/.429/.636 this month.

  • Miguel Rojas 2B | LAD

Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Homers against Mets

Rojas went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Sunday's 3-2 win over the Mets.

Rojas went hitless with a strikeout during his return to the field Saturday, but he hit a game-tying homer in the third inning during Sunday's series finale against the Mets. The 33-year-old has recorded hits in six of the last seven games and has hit .333 with a homer, three runs, three RBI and two stolen bases during that time.

  • Pirates' Tucupita Marcano: Begins rehab assignment

Marcano (illness) started at second base and went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run Sunday in his first rehab game for Single-A Bradenton.

According to Alex Stumpf of DKPittsburghSports.com, Marcano, who is regaining conditioning after testing positive for COVID-19 on June 17, will shift his rehab to Double-A Altoona for his next game action. He could be activated from the IL as soon as Wednesday, with Josh VanMeter (finger) also a potential candidate to be activated from the 10-day injured list around that time. Once both Marcano and VanMeter are reinstated, the two may have to battle for playing time at the keystone.
