Dansby Swanson SS | CHC
Braves' Dansby Swanson: Goes yard in win
Swanson went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer in Friday's 4-2 win over the Pirates.
Swanson drilled a two-run shot off of Roansy Contreras to put Atlanta on the board in the third inning. He's now up to seven long balls this year after snapping a 14-game homerless skid. Over his last 18 games, the 28-year-old shortstop has gone 29-for-73 (.397) with six extra-base hits and 15 runs scored. Swanson is slashing .286/.354/.446 through 237 plate appearances.

Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Back in action Friday
Crawford (quadriceps) is starting Friday against the Dodgers, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
Crawford was out of the lineup in the last two games due to right quadriceps tightness, but he appeared as a pinch hitter in each matchup. The 35-year-old will start at shortstop and bat seventh in Friday's series opener against the Dodgers.

Trea Turner SS | PHI
Dodgers' Trea Turner: Swipes 13th bag
Turner went 1-for-4 with two runs, an RBI, a walk and a stolen base in an 11-9 victory over the White Sox on Thursday.
Turner used his speed to manufacture a run in the fifth inning, reaching on an infield single, promptly swiping second base and coming around to score on a Max Muncy double. The star shortstop also drew a much-discussed intentional walk on a 1-2 pitch in the sixth, and he was brought home when Muncy followed with a three-run homer. While Turner's .835 OPS is on pace to be his lowest mark in four seasons, he's once again been one of fantasy's most valuable performers with a .302/.358/.477 slash line, seven homers, 30 runs, 46 RBI and 13 thefts over 246 plate appearances.

Marco Luciano SS | NYY
Giants' Marco Luciano: Dealing with minor back issue
Luciano was placed on the 7-day injured list with High-A Eugene on Friday due to lower-back tightness, Melissa Lockard of The Athletic reports.
Luciano has already missed just shy of a week with the injury, though the Giants reportedly don't believe it to be a serious issue. Assuming that's the case, the 20-year-old should return soon to build on his promising start with Eugene, where he's hit .288/.360/.507 with eight homers in 40 games.

Jorge Mateo SS | ATL
Orioles' Jorge Mateo: Nabs steal Thursday
Mateo went 1-for-3 with a stolen base and a run scored in Thursday's 7-5 loss to the Royals.
Mateo has now hit safely and scored a run in back-to-back games since snapping an 0-for-13 skid to start June. The shortstop also picked up his first steal since May 28 in the third inning. He's posted a .212/.242/.352 slash line with four home runs, 15 RBI, 16 runs scored and 14 stolen bases through 52 games this year.

Andrew Velazquez SS | TEX
Angels' Andrew Velazquez: Slugs big homer in win
Velazquez went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Thursday's 5-2 victory against Boston.
Velazquez struck out in three of his four plate appearances, but he made his one hit count when he swatted a three-run shot to right field in the sixth inning. That proved to be the difference as the Angels won 5-2 to snap a franchise-record 14-game losing streak. Velazquez entered the contest having gone 0-for-19 over his previous eight contests, and he's slashing a paltry .179/.231/.269 on the season.

Bobby Witt SS | KC
Royals' Bobby Witt: Nabs two thefts
Witt went 2-for-3 with a double, a run, an RBI and two steals in Thursday's 7-5 win over Baltimore.
Witt registered his second straight multi-hit contest, and he maximized his two base knocks by swiping second base on two occasions. The pair of thefts lifted his season total to 10, making him one of 14 major-leaguers to reach that mark thus far. Witt has been outshone among AL rookies by Julio Rodriguez and Jeremy Pena, but he's nonetheless displayed a nice combo of power and speed with seven homers and 28 RBI to complement his steals total.

Carlos Correa SS | HOU
Twins' Carlos Correa: Belts homer Thursday
Correa went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in a loss to the Yankees on Thursday.
Minnesota shocked Yankees ace Gerrit Cole with three straight homers to begin the bottom of the first inning, and Correa was responsible for the last of those blasts with a long ball to left field. It was his first home run since returning from the COVID-19-related IL on Wednesday. Correa got off to a slow start this season but is batting .368 (32-for-87) with three homers and 14 RBI in 21 games since April 28.

Jose Tena DH | WAS
Guardians' Jose Tena: Scratched from Double-A lineup
Tena was scratched from Thursday's lineup at Double-A Akron for an unspecified reason, Matt Kardos of MLB.com reports.
Tena went 0-for-6 with two strikeouts over the last two games, and it's not yet clear why he was a late removal from Thursday's lineup. He's slashing .275/.301/.382 with two homers, 30 runs, 18 RBI and six stolen bases over 51 games in Akron this year.

Xander Bogaerts SS | SD
Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Not starting Thursday
Bogaerts isn't in the lineup Thursday against the Angels.
Bogaerts remained in the lineup Wednesday after exiting Tuesday's game with right shoulder tightness, but he'll be on the bench for Thursday's series finale against the Angels. The Red Sox haven't indicated that his absence is due to his shoulder issue, so it appears to just be a rest day. Jonathan Arauz will draw the start at shortstop and bat ninth.
