  • Miguel Rojas 2B | LAD

Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Returns to lineup

Rojas (illness) is starting Wednesday against the Nationals, Craig Mish of SportsGrid.com reports.

Rojas didn't appear in the last three games while dealing with flu-like symptoms, but he'll be back in action Wednesday. He's hitting .186 with a triple, a double, three runs and two RBI this year.

  • Matt McLain 2B | CIN

Reds' Matt McLain: Flashing skills in Double-A

McLain is hitting .278/.365/.593 with three homers, three steals, 12 RBI and 13 runs across 15 games for Double-A Chattanooga.

After a solid pro debut in High-A last year, the Reds moved McLain somewhat aggressively to Double-A, and he's rewarded them with a productive start to the year. The UCLA product's strikeout rate has ticked up a bit, but it's not in concerning territory, especially while he's hitting the ball this hard -- he's racked up four doubles and a pair of triples to go with his trio of long balls. We'll see whether he can maintain this level of power output; if so, it'll lift his prospect profile considerably, as he already boasts an above-average hit tool and good speed.

  • Masyn Winn SS | STL

Cardinals' Masyn Winn: On 10-game hitting streak

Winn has hit safely in 10 straight games (and reached safely in all 11) for High-A Peoria, accumulating a .415/.468/.683 line with a homer, two doubles, three triples and four steals so far this season.

Winn came into pro ball with questions as to whether he'd stick as a pitcher or a shortstop, and after he posted modest results with the bat last year, there were some questions as to the Cardinals' intentions for him. But they stuck with him at short, and he's rewarded them by flashing tremendous plate discipline (6:7 BB:K) as well as game-breaking speed early in 2022. He likely won't be fast-tracked through the minor leagues, but if Winn keeps hitting this way, a promotion to Double-A should certainly be forthcoming.

  • Orlando Arcia SS | MIN

Braves' Orlando Arcia: Remains out of lineup

Arcia isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Cubs, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Arcia has gone 0-for-7 with three walks and two strikeouts in his last three appearances, and he's losing out on regular playing time since he'll take a seat for the third time in the last four games. Marcell Ozuna will start in left field while Alex Dickerson serves as the designated hitter.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Back on bench Wednesday

Perdomo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers.

Perdomo will hit the bench after a string of four consecutive starts. He'll lose work at shortstop moving forward following Nick Ahmed's return from the injured list, but Perdomo's ability to fill in at second base and third base could allow him to pick up a handful of starts per week. The 22-year-old is getting on base at an excellent .362 clip this season, but he otherwise hasn't offered much production in batting average (.189) or the counting-stats categories.

  • Royals' Adalberto Mondesi: Getting more tests for knee

Royals manager Mike Matheny said Mondesi is scheduled to get more tests on his left knee Wednesday, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports. Mondesi is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox.

Matheny noted that he's optimistic the knee injury Mondesi sustained in Tuesday's 6-0 win isn't too serious, but the Royals won't know the extent of the issue until doctors have a chance to evaluate the 26-year-old. The injury is a disappointing development it what has already been a rough start to the season for Mondesi, who is hitting .140 with no extra-base hits and is buoying his fantasy value almost exclusively through his five stolen bases.

  • Royals' Adalberto Mondesi: Out with knee injury

Mondesi (knee) is out of the lineup Wednesday versus the White Sox, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

The shortstop was forced to exit Tuesday's win early with knee discomfort and it'll sideline him for at least one contest. More information on his injury will likely come later Wednesday. Nicky Lopez will slide over to shortstop while Edward Olivares enters the lineup in right field and will bat eighth.

  • Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Another three-hit effort Tuesday

Bogaerts went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Blue Jays.

The shortstop continues to tear the cover off the ball, as Bogaerts has five three-hit performances in the last 10 contests. The hot streak has pushed his slash line on the season to .362/.380/.507, but he doesn't yet have the counting stats to match with one homer, one steal, seven RBI and 10 runs through 17 games.

  • Joey Wendle 2B | ATL

Marlins' Joey Wendle: Big day against Nats

Wendle went 2-for-3 with a walk, a three-run home run, a second run scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Nationals.

Getting another start at shortstop and hitting seventh, Wendle opened the scoring on the night by taking Josiah Gray deep in the fourth inning, giving Sandy Alcantara and the Miami bullpen all the run support they would need. Wendle has reeled off three straight multi-hit performances, and on the season he's slashing .362/.423/.532 with a homer, three steals, eight runs and eight RBI through 14 games.

  • Tommy Edman 2B | LAD

Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Two thefts in loss

Edman went 0-for-2 with a walk, a hit-by-pitch and two stolen bases in Tuesday's 3-0 loss to the Mets.

Edman didn't picked up one of the Cardinals' three hits, but he was still able to find ways aboard Tuesday. The 26-year-old then used his speed to get into scoring position, but the Cardinals were unable to bring him home. The second baseman is slashing. 283/.397/.509 with three home runs, eight RBI, six runs scored and three stolen bases through 16 contests. He's led off in four straight games, but he's unlikely to see more than a split of that spot in the lineup with fellow switch-hitter Dylan Carlson.
