The talented outfielder's three-bagger was already his third of the season, and he extended his modest hitting streak to three games in the process. The brief surge comes in the wake of a relatively rare skid for Edman, who'd gone 0-for-13 in the four games prior to his current stretch.

Abrams exited Wednesday's contest with Double-A San Antonio after a collision at second base in the ninth inning, MLB.com reports.

Abrams went 1-for-4 in the contest before the incident, which resulted in the 20-year-old leaving the field unable to put much weight on his left leg. The extent of the injury is unclear, but it's worth noting that Abrams did not play in either game of Thursday's doubleheader. He has been solid in his first Double-A campaign, slashing .290/.357/.414 with two homers, 23 RBI and 13 stolen bases over 42 games.

Volpe is slashing .316/.444/.638 with 10 home runs, 45 RBI and 19 stolen bases for Low-A Tampa.

The Yankees' first-round pick in the 2019 first-year player draft has flashed both power and speed in his first campaign in A-ball while also walking more times (38) than he has struck out (37). He was especially hot in June, slashing .392/.515/.848 with seven homers and eight steals. The 20-year-old is regarded as a solid defensive shortstop, so he could ascend quickly through the organization's minor-league system if he continues to dominate offensively.

Crawford went 5-for-13 with two doubles, three walks and five runs across the just-concluded three-game series against the Blue Jays.

As those numbers imply, Crawford was a constant thorn in the side of Toronto pitchers over the three-game set. The veteran shortstop was on base six times alone over Wednesday's and Thursday's contests, and he now owns a .348/.368/.500 slash line across the 68 plate appearances covering his last 15 games.

Turner couldn't get the swelling in his finger to go down and may miss a few games, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.

Turner was held out of the lineup Thursday with a jammed finger, but manager Davey Martinez revealed more details after the game. Though there's no official word, it appears that Turner will miss additional time during the team's weekend series against the Dodgers.

Ahmed is not in Thursday's starting lineup against the Giants.

Ahmed will take a seat after starting four consecutive games. Josh Rojas will take over at shortstop and hit leadoff, while Josh VanMeter will enter the lineup at second base and hit seventh.

Turner (finger) isn't starting Thursday's game against the Dodgers, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Turner hit for the cycle and scored four runs with two stolen bases in Wednesday's win over the Rays, but he jammed his left middle finger in the bottom of the seventh inning and was removed from the game as a result. The 28-year-old is considered day-to-day for now, but Starlin Castro will shift to shortstop while Alex Avila takes over at second base.

Manager Dave Roberts is hopeful that Seager (hand) could return right after the All-Star break, which ends July 16, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Seager was transferred to the 60-day injured list Wednesday after he was shut down from hitting recently. While Roberts was hopeful that the shortstop could return shortly after the All-Star break, he isn't certain of the 27-year-old's timeline following the move to the 60-day IL. A better idea of Seager's status could be revealed once he's able to resume baseball activities.

Correa isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against Cleveland, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Correa was hit by a pitch in Monday's loss to the Orioles, but he started each of the last two games and went 0-for-7 with two runs, two walks and three strikeouts. Robel Garcia will take over at shortstop and bat ninth.

Low-A Augusta placed Grissom on its 7-day injured list Monday with an unspecified injury.

Before landing on the shelf, the 20-year-old outfielder was hitting .271 with two home runs and five stolen bases across 166 plate appearances. Augusta has yet to shed light on the nature of Grissom's injury or provide information on when he might be ready to play again.
