Tim Anderson 2B | LAA
White Sox's Tim Anderson: Will bat leadoff upon return
Anderson (groin) will serve as the White Sox's leadoff hitter when he returns, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
Manager Rick Renteria confirmed that news, even though Luis Robert has thrived atop the order. "I still consider Timmy our leadoff guy, and we'll find a way to continue to adjust the lineup a little bit," Renteria said. "I've got to talk to Tim and see how he's doing and then figure out where I'll insert him. But right now, if the question is, 'Will I insert him at the top of the lineup?' My answer to you right now is yes." Anderson was confident after a full workout Thursday and should return on schedule Aug. 11.

Trevor Story SS | BOS
Rockies' Trevor Story: Records fifth homer
Story went 2-for-4 with a solo home run Thursday against the Giants.
Story took Wandy Peralta deep in the sixth inning to record his fifth home run of the campaign. He had entered the game in the midst of a cold spell, collecting just one hit in his last 16 plate appearances. However, that's done little to undo his strong work at the dish, as he's hitting .295/.404/.636 in 52 plate plate appearances to this point.

Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Takes seat in series finale
Crawford is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rockies.
With the Giants and Rockies concluding their series with a day game after a night game and a southpaw (Kyle Freeland) on the mound for Colorado, the right-handed-hitting Donovan Solano will man shortstop in place of the lefty-hitting Crawford. The veteran had started in each of the Giants' first five games of August, going 3-for-16 with four runs scored.

Nick Ahmed SS | TEX
Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: Two-run blast in blowout win
Ahmed went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 14-7 win over the Astros.
Ahmed went deep in the fifth inning off Astros reliever Nivaldo Rodriguez. It's the first homer of the year for Ahmed, who is hitting just .105 with two RBI and two runs scored through 12 contests. He regularly bats ninth in the lineup and hasn't done enough to warrant fantasy attention in 2020.
