Bogaerts (ankle) is starting at shortstop and hitting third Wednesday against the Phillies, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Bogaerts won't be forced to miss any time after twisting his ankle during Tuesday's loss to the Phillies. The shortstop, who is slashing .271/.311/.529 with four home runs and a steal in 14 games this month, will face lefty Drew Smyly in Wednesday's series finale.

Seager went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBI in Tuesday's 16-3 win over the Blue Jays.

The shortstop was one of seven Dodgers to reach base multiple times on a night in which the team reached double digits in runs for the sixth time in the second half. Though Seager has largely failed to live up to draft-day expectations this season, he's beginning to catch fire at the plate. Over his last eight games, he's batting .344 with three home runs and six doubles while striking out only twice.

Edman is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Brewers.

Edman has started the past five games for the Cardinals and gone 7-for-22 with one home run and one steal. He'll give way to Harrison Bader in the outfield in this one.

Bichette went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs Tuesday in the Blue Jays' 16-3 loss to the Dodgers.

Bichette took Clayton Kershaw deep twice in what was an otherwise stellar night for the Dodgers ace, who passed Sandy Koufax on the all-time wins list. Just 21 games into his big-league career, the rookie shortstop is already looking like a future star. He's already compiled 19 extra-base hits (12 doubles, seven home runs) in only 98 plate appearances.

Manager Kevin Cash said Wendle was still feeling his wrist injury during his rehab game with Triple-A Durham on Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Wendle went 0-for-4 while playing all nine innings at third base in Durham's loss to Charlotte. The utility man apparently didn't feel 100 percent and may take a day off before resuming his rehab stint, depending on how he responds to treatment Wednesday. It sounds like Wendle will have to play through the issue for the remainder of the season, though he likely won't need to be shut down because of it.

Adames went 3-for-4 with two runs in a loss to the Mariners on Tuesday.

Adames' bat sprung back to life Tuesday, snapping him out of a four-game, 1-for-15 skid. The young shortstop is still hitting an impressive .305 during August after generating just a .193 figure in July, although he's laced just a modest four extra-base hits during the current month.

Wendle (wrist) went 0-for-4 while playing all nine innings at third base in Triple-A Durham's loss to Charlotte on Tuesday.

Wendle was making his rehab debut with the Bulls after logging time with both the Rays' Gulf Coast League team and High-A Charlotte during his rehab assignment. The utility man may only need another couple of minor-league games before being deemed ready for activation.

Ahmed went 1-for-2 with a walk, a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 8-7 win over Colorado.

Ahmed's perfectly mediocre season has exploded this month. He's slashing .351/.415/.807 with seven homers, 18 RBI and 14 runs scored over 17 games in August. Tuesday's round-tripper was his 17th of the season and established a new benchmark for the shortstop.

Anderson went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and two RBI in a loss to the Twins on Tuesday.

Anderson knocked in the first run of the game with a double in the third inning and launched a solo homer to left field in the sixth. The multi-hit outing was Anderson's sixth in his last seven games and 11th overall in a scorching August in which he has produced a .407 average while scoring 18 runs.

Story went 4-for-4 with a double, three RBI and a run scored in the Rockies' 8-7 loss to the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

The shortstop had one hit in his last eight at-bats coming in, but he got back on track in short order, racking up four more hits and driving in three of Colorado's seven runs on the day. Story is having another fantastic campaign at the dish, as this effort brings his slash line up to .296/.362/.573 to go along with 28 homers, 17 stolen bases and 74 RBI across 510 plate appearances.
